Danny Henry Lauridsen
Dec. 31, 1940 -- May 25, 2006
Lifelong Port Angeles resident Danny Henry Lauridsen died in his home following a long-term illness. He was 65.
The son of John Thomas and Dorothy Rose (Waldron) Lauridsen, Mr. Lauridsen helped raise 22 children through foster care and from his marriages.
After graduating from high school, he was a millworker, groundskeeper and tavern owner.
Mr. Lauridsen enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing.
Survivors include daughters Daina Lauridsen and Carla Lauridsen and daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Donel Conrad, all of Port Angeles; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Angel Gomez of Hearns, Utah; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Jan Lauridsen of Port Angeles; sisters and brothers-in-law Jan and Mel Sheedy of Port Angeles, and Joan and Ron Kautzman of Sammamish; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by former wives Beverly Rickerson, Darlene Bushnell and Marilyn Lonker as well as daughter Melinda Gay Lauridsen.
Services: June 11, noon, memorial potluck in Upper Elwha Grange (aka Upper Elwha Community Center) on Old State Road off Herrick Road (just west of the U.S. Highway 101 bridge over the Elwha River).
Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, Port Angeles, is in charge.
Memorials: Caregivers Home Health, 3228 Highway 101, Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Lois Mary Sill
Nov. 28, 1915 -- May 27, 2006
Lois Mary Sill of Sequim died of age-related causes in Erie, Colo. She was 90.
She was born in Miami to Henry J. and Lillian Alice (Kiner) Stephens.
She married Allen William Sill on July 21, 1942, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Mrs. Sill, who earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts, taught china painting and was a member of the California China Painters Association. She formerly lived in West Covina, Calif.
Survivors include her husband of Sequim; sons and daughters-in-law Rich and Claudine Sill of Sequim, Allen William and Sharon Sill Jr. of Escondido, Calif., Steven and Karey Sill of Roseville, Calif., and Jeff and Jan Sill of Erie, Colo.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: Saturday, June 3, 1 p.m., funeral in Sequim Bible Church, 847 N. Sequim Ave. Pastor Dave Wiitala will officiate. Interment will be in Sequim View cemetery.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

AMELIA T. (BABE) GOTTI GORDON
Amelia T. (Babe) Gotti Gordon of Sequim went to be with her Lord on May 29. She was 89.
Born to Italian immigrants Elio and Maria Gotti in Renton, Washington, April 6, 1917.
She married the love of her life, Bud C. Gordon, on August 31, 1940, in Renton, Washington. They were married 65 years.
Babe was a housewife with many interests. She was an avid fisherman. She loved to go crabbing, making floral arrangements, gardening, dancing and going to Reno.
Most of all she loved being with her family.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lehman, of Port Angeles; son and daughter-in-law, Robert N. and Barbara Gordon; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held on June 3.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Vergil Julius Fischer
March 14, 1914 -- May 29, 2006
Vergil Julius Fischer of Port Angeles died of pneumonia. He was 92.
He was born in Walnut, Iowa, to Julius and Ann (Rasmussen) Fischer.
His marriage on Sept. 9, 1939, to Dorothy Balch ended with her death in Port Angeles on March 16, 1972.
He married Jean Bergsteser on June 8, 1973. She died June 23, 2005.
He was employed by the Port Angeles School District as a custodian.
Mr. Fisher was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Dry Creek Grange and the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include daughter Nancy L. Fischer of Sequim; stepdaughter Judy Chavamin of Seattle; sister Alta Petersen of Exira, Iowa; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services: Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m. visitation in Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel, 105 W. Fourth St., Port Angeles, until the 10 a.m. funeral. The Rev. Julie Kinnard will officiate at the funeral.
Burial will be in Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road, Port Angeles.
A reception will be held at 11:45 a.m. in Park View Villas, 1430 Park View Lane, Port Angeles.
Memorials: Hospice of Clallam County, P.O. Box 2014, Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Ann Alvina Matte Tryon
Nov. 16, 1935 -- May 27, 2006
Makah tribal elder Ann Alvina Matte Tryon of Neah Bay died of health complications. She was 70.
Born to Richard Matte of Tulalip and Amy Markishtum of Neah Bay, she received her schooling in Neah Bay.
She married Army veteran Alfred ``Gube" Tryon in 1955.
The Tryons built a Mobil gas station, and later set up a Union 76 full-service gas station, which they operated until 1996.
Mrs. Tryon was known for her sharp wit and knowledge of local history.
Survivors include son Scott Tryon of Marysville; daughters Sandra Isaacson of Port Orchard and Alanna Hartwell of Marysville; brother Blanchard Matte and sisters Sarah McKenney, Shirley Matte and Sherry Matte, all of Neah Bay; and three grandchildren.
Services: Today, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitation in Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, 260 Monroe Road, Port Angeles.
At her request, no services. Drennan-Ford Funeral Home, Port Angeles, is in charge of cremation.

Myrtle T. Neeley
Nov. 28, 1906 -- May 27, 2006
Former Port Townsend resident Myrtle T. Neeley of Leavenworth died in Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was 99.
Born to Edwin and Martha (Woodley) Johnson in Port Hadlock, she graduated from Chimacum High School in 1924.
After high school, she worked for Barros Dress Shop in Port Townsend.
She married James C. Neeley on Oct. 29, 1937, in Vancouver, Wash.
The Neeleys lived in Tigard, Ore., for 47 years before moving to Everett in 1987 then to Leavenworth in 1991.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Lyle and Peggy Neeley of Leavenworth, and James M. and Pennie Neeley of New York City; and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Neeley was preceded in death by her husband and 11 siblings.
Services: Today, June 1, 1 p.m., celebration of life in the chapel of Kosec Funeral Home, 1615 Parkside Drive, Port Townsend. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery, Chimacum.

NORMAN CHARLES CARLSEN
Norman Charles (``Tiny") Carlsen, 76, a resident of Brinnon, went to be with his Lord on May 26, 2006.
He was born in Seattle on November 3, 1929.
He grew up in Ballard, graduating from Ballard High School.
He married his high school sweetheart, Laila Svege, on January 12, 1951. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in January.
Norm was a commercial fisherman in his early years and an asphalt superintendent at the time of his retirement in 1989.
He loved hunting, fishing, sports and watching his kids' and grandkids' many activities.
He is survived by his ``lovely bride, " Laila; sister Betty (Jack) Hickle; three children, Jeff and Jean Carlsen (Cannon Beach), Kathy and Tim Hale (Puyallup), and John and Kim Carlsen (Puyallup); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial celebrations will be held Friday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 22975 24th Ave. S., Des Moines, Washington, and Sunday, June 11, at 3 p.m. at Brinnon Community Church, 52 Church Road, Brinnon.

Christopher Mark `Kit' Loomis
May 9, 1944 -- May 27, 2006
Christopher Mark ``Kit" Loomis died in his Port Ludlow home at age 62.
Services: Friday, June 2, at 11 a.m., celebration of life in Bainbridge Island First Baptist Church, 8810 Madison Ave. N.E., Bainbridge Island. The Rev. Dan Wymer will officiate.
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, was in charge of cremation.

Kenneth G. MacPetrie
June 28, 1918 -- May 26, 2006
Former Port Angeles resident Kenneth G. MacPetrie of Eckert, Colo., died of lung-related causes in Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colo. He was 87.
He was born to George and Jessie (McLain) MacPetrie in Detroit, where he married Lois Mae Sanderson on April 12, 1941.
Mr. MacPetrie moved to Eckert in 1986 following his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service in Port Angeles.
While in Port Angeles, he was a bagpipe instructor and had started a pipe band.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Bob Ogden and one granddaughter in Delta, Colo.
His wife died June 16, 2003.
Services: Thursday, June 1 at 10 a.m., funeral at Mesa View Mortuary Chapel in Delta, Colo. Pastor Lee Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow at Mesa View cemetery.
Memorials: Donations to Delta County Memorial Hospital Foundation for the emergency room department, 1501 E. Third St., Delta, CO 81416.

Ted Senecal
June 4, 1951 -- May 5, 2006
Ted Senecal of Port Townsend died of lung cancer. He was 54.
He was born in Lackawanna, N.Y., to Ted and Marge (Martin) Senecal.
After graduating from high school -- where he was introduced to the Bard -- and attending the New York Shakespeare Academy, Mr. Senecal pursed a theatrical career that included acting, directing, writing and teaching.
When a hall or theater was not available for productions, he made do with a park or field.
Earlier in life, he lived in Seattle, with a five-year hiatus to New York City.
In Port Townsend, he joined Shakespeare in the Park and initiated Shakespeare in Your Living Room and Olympic Shakespeare Productions.
He also promoted monthly Shakespearean readings as well as contributing to several Key City Players productions.
Professionally, he was a receptionist at Olympic Primary Care in Port Townsend, until illness forced his retirement.
Mr. Senecal is survived by sister and brother-in-law Ginny and Tom Higgins of Port Townsend and sister Carol Miller of University Place.
Services: Sunday, June 4, 1:30 p.m., memorial in Chetzemoka Park, 900 Jackson St., Port Townsend. (Bring chairs or blankets as no seating is available.)
Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge.
