Charlotte Leona MacDougall
July 29, 1930 -- June 2, 2006
Charlotte Leona MacDougall died in her Port Angeles home of age-related causes. She was 75.
She was born in Neligh, Neb., to Earnest Damon and Iris Mildred (Buckmaster) Haberstroh.
She married
Stanley MacDougall in Stevenson on Oct. 19, 1956.
She was a member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. MacDougall's survivors include son Terry MacDougall of Stockton, Calif.; son Gordon MacDougall and daughter Alice Wright, both of Port Angeles; brother Cliff Haberstroh of Paducah, Ky.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband died May 5, 2005. She was also preceded in death by sisters Beverly Fester and Patricia Dusenberry.

Elena Buonpane
May 8, 1930 -- May 30, 2006
Elena Buonpane of Beaver died of lung cancer in Forks Community Hospital. She was 76.
She was born in Milan, Italy, to Elio and Maria (Morlin) Ranuzzi.
She married
Frank J. Buonpane in Forks on May 9, 1970.
Mrs. Buonpane -- a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening -- was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Forks and Sons of Italy in Port Angeles.
Survivors include her husband; son and daughter-in-law Giancarlo and Debra Buonpane; daughter and son-in-law Maria and Sam Shanes; brothers and sisters-in-law Tullio and Lorenzina Ranuzzi and Benedetto and Resi Ranuzzi; sister Miria BonBonato; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services: Friday, June 9, the rosary at 10:30 a.m., in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 531 Fifth Ave., Forks, immediately preceding the 11 a.m. Mass at which the Rev. Reynaldo Yu will celebrate.
Burial will be in Quillayute Prairie cemetery. Potluck will follow in St. Anne's fellowship hall.

Dianne Haynes
Dec. 14, 1915 -- June 2, 2006
Dianne Haynes of Sequim died from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was 90.
She was born in South Bend, Ind., to Austin and Hattie (Patten) Kegley.
During her career years, she was employed as a store manager in the fashion industry.
Following marriages to F.A. ``Dick" Schoofs, then Gerald Yost, both of whom preceded her in death, she married
Bert Haynes in Port Angeles in 1992.
Mrs. Haynes, who founded the Sequim Singles Club, also was a member of the International Doll Society.
As part of enjoying dancing and singing to big band music, she was known by her friends for performing ``Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home" and regarded it as her theme song.
Survivors include her husband; daughters Carol Russell of Tumwater, Brenda Dodds of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Sharon Knudsen of Morongo Valley, Calif.
Other survivors include sister Ina Moritz; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Monday, June 5, a memorial will be held in the home of Carol Russell of Tumwater.

Earl Thomas Larrabee
Oct. 30, 1929 -- May 31, 2006
Earl Thomas Larrabee died in his Port Angeles home of leukemia. He was 76.
He was born in Marysville, Calif., to George Dane and Anna Theresa (Sargent) Larrabee, and attended Sacramento Junior College and California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
Mr. Larrabee served in the Navy in 1948-52, including Korean War service.
During a civilian career in engineering, Mr. Larrabee was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers and the Navy Department.
He lived in Sacramento, Santa Clara and San Diego, all in California, before moving to Port Angeles 17 years ago.
During 21 years of retirement, he enjoyed studying western history and traveling ``on the road again."
Mr. Larrabee was a member of Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church, Juan de Fuca Kiwanis Club and the Munch Bunch.
He married
Nancy Brock in Reno, Nev., on June 22. 1957.
In addition to his wife, survivors include sons David S. Larrabee of Forks, Stephen P. Larrabee of Sheridan, Wyo., Mark W. Larrabee of San Diego and Keith A. Larrabee of Port Angeles.
Other survivors include daughters Lisa A. Larrabee of Bellingham and Theresa M. Yates of Charlotte, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Edward, Raymond, Eugene, Kenneth and Howard Larrabee, and sister Eleanor Neely.

Dorothy May Nyberg
June 20, 1918 -- June 1, 2006
Sequim homemaker Dorothy May Nyberg died of age-related causes in Olympic Medical Center, Port Angeles. She was 87.
The oldest of nine children, she was born in Chehalis to Henry LeRoy and Elsie May (Weakley) Pinard.
She married
Carl R. Nyberg in Hoquiam on Oct. 31, 1942. The Nybergs moved to Port Angeles in 1949.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Nyberg lived in Sherwood Assisted Living at Sequim for the past 1½ years.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Carl H. and Janet Nyberg of Port Angeles and Richard and Joy Nyberg of San Jose, Calif.; brothers LeRoy Pinard of Castle Rock and Robert Pinard of Carlton, Ore.; sister Annabelle Spray of Raymond; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband died May 4, 1992. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Richard Walter Winters
Feb. 7, 1944 -- May 28, 2006
Richard Walter Winters of Port Angeles died of a heart attack. He was 62.
He was born in Port Townsend to Walter and Katherine Ruth (Williams) Winters.
After graduating from college he was stationed in Alaska with the Air Force.
Most of his life, he served as an ordained minister. He was a member of Independent Bible Church.
He married
Gretson Bell in Port Angeles in 1984.
In addition to his wife, the Rev. Winter's survivors include son Derek Sean Baer of Washington, D.C.; daughters Britt Stratton and Brenna Baer, both of Salt Lake City; and two grandchildren.
Services: Monday, June 6, at 11 a.m., memorial in Independent Bible Church, 166 E. Ahlvers St. The Rev. Dr. Mike Jones will officiate.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.

Myrtle G. Buckholtz
Jan. 14, 1921 -- May 30, 2006
Myrtle G. Buckholtz of Sequim died in Olympic Medical Center, Port Angeles, probably of a heart attack. She was 85.
She was born to Henry and Minnie (Sikstron) Jackson in Tacoma, where she graduated from Lincoln High School.
She married
John E. Buckholtz at Tacoma in 1944. He died Feb. 15, 1996.
Mrs. Buckholtz was employed as a teacher's assistant.
She was a member of Sequim Community Church.
She enjoyed playing cards and other games with her friends at the Fifth Avenue Retirement Home.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Paul J. and Connie Buckholtz of Bellevue and Gary K. and Wanda Buckholtz of Sequim; sister Mame Nansen of Port Angeles and sister and brother-in-law Aggie and Norm Stovall, all of Port Angeles; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bernadette A. Chance
Feb. 18, 1913 -- May 29, 2006
Bernadette A. Chance of Port Angeles died of age-related causes. She was 93.
She was born to James and Louise V. (Frazer) Gleason in Norton, Kan.
She studied for two years at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
On Jan. 4, 1941, she married
Leonard M. Chance in Salina, Kan.
For many years, Mrs. Chance was a clerk-stenographer with the Air Force at McChord Air Base, Tacoma.
She loved to shop and spend time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Chance was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Leonard ``Milt" and Sue Chance Jr. and David L. and Marcia Chance, all of Port Angeles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in September of 1990, brother Lawrence Gleason and sisters Kay Kimball and Patsy Kershner.
