RICHARD HENRY FISHER
Richard Henry ``Buzz" Fisher peacefully stepped onto Heaven's shores Oct. 3, 2006.
Born in Seattle on Aug. 21, 1941, to Harry and Ellen Fisher, he grew up the majority of his childhood on the shores of Lake Washington water skiing and boat racing.
He graduated from Lincoln High School and was a member of the 1958 Seattle City Championship Golf Team.
He attended the University of Washington for a short time, but moved on to work as a draftsman for Issacson Iron Works and later Acme Iron Works, detailing the railing systems for many of Seattle's buildings.
During this time, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
He also met and charmed his way into the heart and life of Diana Schermerhorn. They were blessed with 42 years of never dull peaks and valleys, three daughters and five grandchildren.
In 1968, he gave his life to Jesus Christ and found his true freedom.
His career was building and developing homes and other projects. His passion was flying airplanes, fast boats and spending time with his family.
He loved his fishing trips to Canada and Alaska, and especially the trips to Israel. He found great joy in attending the Wednesday morning men's Bible study at Independent Bible Church.
His adult life was filled with ongoing heart disease, with much time spent in hospitals. He always faced his challenges with a great attitude and courage.
He loved and appreciated the gift of life and lived not to waste any of it.
For the present time he leaves behind his wife, Diana, of Sequim; daughter Jennifer of Bremerton; daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Ron Gilles of Sequim, and daughter and son-in-law Amy and EJ Brink of North Bend; grandchildren Brendon, Brianna, Ellison, Ian and Aliya; brother Mike Fisher of Payson, Arizona; and brother-in-law William (wife Sue) Schermerhorn of Grand Junction, Colorado; also, many dear friends.

JAMES JOSEPH `JIM' GOLDADE
Jim Goldade, renowned marine surveyor, passed away on September 18 from complications following surgery.
Present were his son, Jim Goldade, and his wife, Gail, and granddaughters, Stephanie Snider (Jake) and Valerie Goldade.
His loving sisters, Joan Walker and Leona Eisenman (Morry) were present in our hearts.
Jim was born April 24, 1921, in Salem, Ore., and grew up in Seattle, one of 12 children.
He graduated from Lincoln High School.
After serving in the Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees), he married
Mary Ceceil (Ceil) Barton and settled in Seattle to raise their family.
Jim worked his way up in the local boat industry, becoming a journeyman shipwright and eventually a shipyard superintendent.
He developed a reputation as an expert in boat construction and would eventually become a Marine Surveyor, forming his own company in partnership with Ceil.
His reputation for honesty and thoroughness helped to grow his business. He was often called upon as an expert witness in maritime accident trials nationwide.
Jim was a member of the Sahalee Ski Club and will be remembered for his blueberry pancakes.
He also loved working with wood. Jim built a 40-foot sailboat in his back yard. It took him 3 years of working nights and weekends to complete. People came from all around the neighborhood to watch when it was removed from the back yard and loaded onto a flatbed truck to be launched in Lake Union.
When Jim and Ceil were nearing retirement, they bought their home in Sequim on the beach at Diamond Point.
Here Jim spent his time doing what he enjoyed most -- fishing and building furniture. He would also find time to get out on the local golf courses.
He had to give up the fishing and golf to care for Ceil when she became ill.
Upon her passing in 1999, Jim attended grief recovery sessions sponsored by Hospice of Clallam County.
The support this all-volunteer organization provided made a tremendous impact on him. After completing his sessions, he joined Hospice as a volunteer, hoping to give others what he had received.
At this time he met Pat Roble (Fargo, North Dakota), a Hospice volunteer, who had recently lost her husband. They became close friends and traveled to Mexico and the South Pacific.
He continued as a volunteer until a fall in January limited his mobility.
Jim was also very generous in his support of children's charities. He has touched the lives of many children and their families that he has never known.
We wish to thank the dedicated staff at UW Medical Center for their expert care and compassion in his final days.
We also want to express our sincere appreciation for the cards and support from so many of our dear friends and family.
There will be no formal service.
Jim chose to be cremated so that his ashes could be spread on the beach to be joined with his beloved Ceil in front of the home they cherished.
Jim would be so pleased if, in lieu of flowers, remembrances would be made to Hospice of Clallam County, P.O. Box 2014, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells in the sand,
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land,
The music stops, and yet it echoes on it sweet refrains,
For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.
We will miss you.
