Jessie passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006. She was 94 years young.
Jessie was born the 10th of 11 children to Ritchie and Priscilla Payne Kidd on May 14, 1912, in Beaver, Washington, after her mother, father and their nine children traveled by boat from Port Angeles to Clallam Bay and took an oxen-pulled wagon over Burnt Mountain Road to what eventually became Beaver Ranch in 1910.
Jesse grew up raising animals with her family to eat and sell as part of a growing butchers business. They always had a large garden and an orchard full of apples, cherries, prunes and pears.
Her father deeded three acres to the school district for a new school in 1915. The Beaver School still stands off Highway 101 today.

A dairy driver stopped by the farm to pick up cream from the farm in 1932. That was the day she met Harold Eli Parks. They married February 9, 1935, in Shelton, Washington.
Jessie found her greatest joy as a mother and grandmother. She was always there to baby sit and support all of her grandchildren. Whether it was baseball, soccer, piano and dance recitals, volleyball, dog shows, horse shows and just many hours at local playgrounds and parks, Grandma was always there.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and her siblings, Wesley, Violet, Elmer, Stanley, Rufus, Arthur, Olive, Archie, Albert and Margaret.
