Radawick, John Monday, 01 Apr 2002
John Radawick, a longtime Redondo Beach resident, died April 1 at Foundation House in Federal Way. He was 88.
He was born Dec. 24, 1913, in Tacoma. He owned and operated a dry cleaning business in the Federal Way area and was involved in Rotary, Azizi Temple Shriners, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge and Elks.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Beverly, and daughters Cinda Berard and Patricia DarŽ. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles, and a sister, Louise.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorials be made to Foundation House Employee Christmas Fund, 32290 First Ave. S., Federal Way, WA 98003.
Goff, Joseph V. Saturday, 30 Mar 2002
Joseph V. Goff, 50, died March 30 of cancer at his home in northeast Tacoma.
Born Oct. 13, 1951 in Mount Holly, N.J., he served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Motors Club Northwest and Twin Harbors American Motors Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Janthie, Lorraine and Lisa of Olympia; his mother, Beverly Goff of Afton, N.Y.; sisters Janthie Robertson of Afton, N.Y., and Kristine Mott of Masonville, N.Y.; brothers Mark Goff of Oneonta, N.Y., and Mitch Goff of Masonville, N.Y.; his fiancee, Diane King of notheast Tacoma and her son, Christopher King of Gig Harbor. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Goff.
A memorial service is set for 11:30 a.m. April 10 at Bonney Watson Funeral Home Chapel, 1535 SW. Dash Point Road.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109.
Chenier, Walter Friday, 05 Mar 2004
Walter Chenier died March 5. He was 72.
He was born April 17, 1931 in Darrington to Wilfred Chenier and Anna Christensen. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from Western Washington University and received his master’s in math from the University of South Carolina.
He retired after teaching math for 31 years, the majority at Federal Way High School.
Survivors include his sister, Alice Perka of Tacoma, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and brothers Fred and Robert.
Services have been held.
The family suggests remembrances be made to PAWS.
Carney, Charlotte Tuesday, 13 Apr 2004
Charlotte R. Carney died April 13 at Tacoma Lutheran Home. She was 90.
She was born Dec. 30, 1913 in Sisseton, S.D., grew up in Veblen, S.D., and attended beauty school in Fargo, N.D. She and her husband, James, moved to Federal Way to be close to their children.
Survivors are daughters Elizabeth Smith of Federal Way and Ginger Grant of Kent; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; a son, James; brothers Irwin and Gordon Axness; and sisters Dorothy Jacobson and Margaret Straub.
Services were April 18 at Tacoma Lutheran Home Chapel. Memorials may be sent to Tacoma Lutheran Home, 1301 N. Highlands Parkway, Tacoma, WA 98406.
Arrangements were by Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel.
Gillespie, Clarence Tuesday, 13 Apr 2004
Clarence Raymond (Ray) Gillespie died April 13 in Federal Way. He was 78.
He was born Dec. 5, 1925 in Independence, Mo. to Clarence and Ethyl Gillespie.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from William Jewel College in Liberty, Mo., and he married
Phyllis Osborn on March 3, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo.
H worked in the feed industry before retiring in Salem, Ore. He moved to Federal Way in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years; children Cheryl Aker of Spokane, Linda Northcutt of Bothell, Deb Perry of Everett and Tom Gillespie of Kalispell, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held April 17 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Federal Way.
Scott, Timothy Friday, 02 Apr 2004
Timothy Paul Scott, 46, died April 2 in Federal Way, his home of 25 years.
He was born May 11, 1957 in Santa Monica, Calif.
He was a machinist at Boeing.
Survivors include his son, Ryan Christopher Amodei of Des Moines; parents Paul and Norma Scott of Sutter Creek, Calif.; and a sister, Pamela Bonvillain of Jackson, Calif.
A memorial service was held April 15 at Yahn and Son Funeral Home in Auburn.

Lisle, Rodney Sunday, 04 Apr 2004
Rodney C. Lisle, a former 25-year resident of the Twin Lakes area in Federal Way, died April 4 in Portland, Ore. He was 74.
He moved to Vancouver, Wash. in 2000.
He was born March 3, 1930 in Lynden, where he was educated. He enlisted in the Navy and was a Korean War veteran.
He retired from The Lucks Co. in 1990 as vice president of the equipment division. He also once owned a bakery shop.
He was a past member of Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Lee-Lisle of Vancouver; daughters Carole Heermann of Woodland, Alice Jull of La Center and Pam Brammer and Debbie Crippes, both of Lynnwood; sons Jerry Lee of Bellevue and Scott Lisle of Lynnwood; brothers John Gillreath and Alton Gillreath, both of Modesto, Calif.; sisters Billie Kampen, Virginia Stiles, Wanda Griffith, Shirley Conner, Mary Hegel and Paula Baird, all of Modesto; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, followed by burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens cemetery in Vancouver.

Stillwell, Veda Wednesday, 31 Mar 2004
Veda Stillwell, a former Tacoma resident, died March 31. She was 78.
She was born March 15, 1926 in Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School there.
She worked with the IRS and volunteered at a military service center, where she met Robert Stillwell, whom she married
in 1947. They moved to Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated as a chiropractor. They returned in 1948 to Tacoma, where they lived until 1999, when they moved to Salmon, Idaho.
She worked at the Puyallup Fair for 49 years and also at the Spring Fair, even after the move to Idaho.
Survivors include her husband; children Diane Sylva of Federal Way, Karen Cook of Puyallup, Deb Kerr and Kenneth Stillwell of Tacoma; a brother, Dean McCoy of Seattle; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, there were no services.
Parkinson, Terry Monday, 29 Mar 2004
Terry Lynn Parkinson, a lifetime resident of Auburn, died March 29. He was 39.
Born Jan. 23, 1965 in Auburn, he attended Federal Way schools.
He worked as a landscaper.
Survivors include his son, Jordan; his mother, Lynnea Parkinson; brothers Keith of Spokane, Ken of Graham, Ron of St. Thomas Island, Randy of Enumclaw, Roger of Vancouver and Tracy of Sumner; and sisters Karla and Tina, both of Federal Way, Karen of Yelm and Teresa of Largo, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Parkinson, and infant son Terrance Parkinson Jr.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 3 at Faith Baptist Church in Tacoma, 5714 29th St. NE. Arrangements are by Yahn and Son Funeral Home in Aubur
Troxel, W. Gunner Tuesday, 09 Mar 2004
W. Gunner Troxel, a longtime resident of Federal Way, died March 9. He was 69.
He was born in Sargent, Neb. on Oct. 25, 1934. He lived for 22 years in Federal Way.
He attended Anderson College in Indiana, Highline College and the University of Washington. He served in the military in the 1950s.
He spent much of his life in the appliance business.
He is survived by his sons, Gunnar and Corey; Carol Thompson and her sons Rick, Gary and Tom; and Joyce Troxel.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. April 3 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, located at 158 S. 168th St. in Burien.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Cancer Research Foundation at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.
Verstrate, Dave Sunday, 29 Feb 2004
Dave Verstrate died Feb. 29. He was 65.
He was born in Yakima and was a longtime Federal Way resident.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of Federal Way; sons Terry, Jim and David; a daughter, Carmen; three grandchildren; a twin brother, Don; and sisters Cathy and Beth.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Angel Flight of America at any U.S. Bank branch.
A celebration of his life, followed by a potluck, is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. April 3 in the gymnasium at Olympic View Elementary School, located at 2626 SW. 227th St., in Federal Way.
Blume, Take Ida Saturday, 13 Mar 2004
Take Ida Blume, a 47-year resident of Federal Way, died March 13 in Seattle. She was 75.
She was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Saitama-Ken, Kawaguchi, Japan. She married
Theodore J. Halpin in 1953 in Japan; he died in 1966. She married
Warren F. Blume in 1967 in Tacoma, and he died in 1988.
She was a food handler for Northwest Airlines Flight Kitchen for 23 years, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Tarry Swanson of Federal Way; a son, Larry Halpin of Blaine; sisters Tama Ida, Fukuko Ida and Hatsuko Ida, all of Japan; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by sisters Mieko Bland and Amiko Ida.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. March 20 at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are by Price-Helton .
