Ramsay, Leona Saturday, 11 Jan 2003
Leona J. Clemens Ramsay died Jan. 11 in Federal Way, her home of nearly 40 years. She was 79.
She was born July 11, 1923 in North Dakota and married
James Ramsay on Nov. 20, 1948 in Tacoma.
She was a paraeducator in the Federal Way school district from 1965 to 1975, working recess duty at Brigadoon Elementary School.
She was active at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Survivors include her husband; children James Ramsay Jr. of Lake Sammamish, David Ramsay and Craig Ramsay, both of Federal Way, Dana Ramsay of Puyallup, Tim Ramsay of Honolulu, Hawaii, Linda Peterson of Renton and Christine Ramsay of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; brothers Carl Clemens and Arnold Clemens, both of Spokane, and Hank Clemens of Texas; sisters, Alma Whitaker of Portland, Ore., Esther Sharp of Vancouver, Wash., and Eleanor Peddicord of Kennewick; and 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life was held Jan. 15 at St. Luke’s.

Lola M. Basinski of Redondo died Aug. 7. She was 74.
She was born March 4, 1928, in Westbrook, Maine. She attended Kelso High School and worked as a secretary before retiring in 1992.
She lived in Redondo for four years.
Survivors include a brother, George Miller of Gresham, Ore., and sisters Ramona Soule of Federal Way, Anne Johnson of Moraga, Calif. and Beulah Parsons of Puyallup.
Services were Aug. 10 at Christ Lutheran Church in Federal Way. Arrangements were by Bonney-Watson.
The family suggests memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
Murray, Shirley Saturday, 03 Aug 2002
Shirley S. Murray, 81, died Aug. 3 after a prolonged illness.
She was a 50-year resident of the Star Lake community in Kent, a 27-year employee of the Federal Way school district, and for several years a member of the Board of Trustees of Highline Community College.
She is survived by her children, Douglas, Duncan, Sherryl, David and Dennis, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Douglas H. Murray.
At her request, there will be no service.
Since she was an avid reader, the family suggests remembrances may be made to local public libraries.
Henderson, Earl Saturday, 03 Aug 2002
Earl Vernon Henderson, a former Federal Way and Auburn resident, died Aug. 3 in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was 94.
Born Dec. 1, 1907, in Round Lake, Minn., he served both the Army and Navy during World War II. After leaving the service, he was employed by the GSA in Auburn and Boeing in Seattle.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; a daughter, Kandes Bregman of Scottsdale; a sister, Gretchen Harshman of Bloomington, Ind.; brothers Lyle of Lacey, Donald of Federal Way, and Lowell of Eatonville; and four grandchildren.

Hindman, Jeffrey Sunday, 21 Jul 2002
Jeffrey E. Hindman of Shoreline died July 21 in Seattle. He was 38.
Born April 29, 1964 in Bellevue, he was a South King County resident for 34 years and a carpenter in construction. He was a Decatur High School graduate, attended HVAC Technical College in Arizona and enjoyed playing guitar and writing songs.
He is survived by his father, Ronald L. Hindman of Federal Way; his mother, Karen A. Hindman of Gig Harbor; and a brother, Gregory Hindman of Auburn.
A private memorial service was conducted at Yahn & Son Funeral Home in Auburn. Memorials are suggested to Pediatric Interim Care, 233 Second Ave. S., Kent, WA 98032. Arrangements are by Edline-Yahn Funeral Chapel.
Boyes, Blanche Tuesday, 16 Jul 2002
Blanche Milam Boyes died July 16 at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds. She was 95.
Born Jan. 9, 1907, in Minot, N.D., she was a longtime resident of Federal Way and Redondo until her move to the Shoreline area a few years ago.
She is survived by stepchildren in Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewie Boyes, in 1992.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. July 24 at Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd., in SeaTac. A no-host lunch will follow at Old Country Buffet in Federal Way.
Paul, Thomas Tuesday, 09 Jul 2002
Thomas Brinson Paul of Federal Way died July 9 at his home. He was 53.
Born July 5, 1949 in Richmond, Va., he worked as a network engineer for Weyerhaeuser and Starbucks.
He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Paul Ingersoll of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Edward Paul of Tappahanock, Va.; and his mother, Antoinette D. Paul of Richmond, Va.
Berhuis, Grace Thursday, 20 Apr 2006
Grace J. Berhuis died April 20. She was 94.
She was born March 18, 1912 in Parme, Idaho.
She worked as an elementary school teacher and was a Federal Way resident for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Dana.

JoAnne Louise Hash died April 11. She was 70.
She was born in Jefferson, Wis. on Aug. 13, 1935 to William and Stella Herde.
Survivors include her four children –– Raymond Hash, William Hash, Crystal Hash-Halverson and Leslie McCoy, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters Dorothy Roe and Elain Wolf, and a brother, Edward Herde.
A memorial service was scheduled for April 18 at Mountain View Lutheran Church in Edgewood. Arrangements are by Funeral Alternatives of Washington.
Patterson, Goldie Wednesday, 12 Apr 2006
Goldie June Patterson died April 12. She was 93.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1912 in Walla Walla. A resident of Federal Way at the time of her death, she lived in the south King County area most of her life, including Algona and Auburn.
She was a member of Edgewood Community Church.
Survivors include a son, Maurice Patterson Jr. of Bellingham; a daughter, Barbara Nybuis of Federal Way; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Patterson Sr.
A service is scheduled for 3 p.m. April 22 at Twin Cedars Mobile Home Park’s clubhouse at 37301 28th Ave. S. in Federal Way. Price-Helton Funeral Home of Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 50020/S-200, Seattle, WA 98145-5020.

John Clarence Brownson of Federal Way died April 8. He was 84.
He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Nov. 23, 1921. He was a Federal Way resident for nine years.
He was a captain in the Marines for 20 years, worked for Boeing as an electrical engineer for 10 years and served as an emergency services director for Snohomish County.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 2886 in Federal Way.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Sandy Crawford of Federal Way; a sister, Laura Holler of Charlerio, Pa.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. April 12 at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
In lieu of flowers, theh family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.

Suzette Lynn Stewart of Covington died March 24.
She was born April 19, 1966 in Seattle.
She worked in Federal Way as a hairstylist for 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Greg; her father, Jerry Haney; her step-mother, Diane; and siblings Steve, Sheri, Dennis, Don and Dan.

Budde, Frances Thursday, 09 Mar 2006
Frances Budde died March 9. She was 60.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1945 to Louis and Isabelle Pavlichek in Detroit, Mich.
She worked for Pacific Lutheran University as a librarian for 13 years.
She was a member of the Tacoma Yacht Club and the United States Tennis Association.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Ronald; a daughter, Marie McDade; sisters Louise Gravelle, Sue Hendricks and Donna Yambasky; and brothers Dennis, Michael, Thomas and Stephen Pavlichek.
Visitation was at Bonney-Watson Federal Way, and a funeral Mass was Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way.
