Dullum, Wallace Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005
Wallace Charles Dullum died Jan. 19 in Federal Way, his home of more than 30 years. He was 74.
He was born March 17, 1930 in Killdeer, N.D.
Before retiring, he worked as a heavy-equipment operator building highways, including Interstate 90 on Snoqualmie Pass and State Route 16 off-ramps.
Survivors include daughters Denice Williams of the Bremerton area and Deborah Roe of Sand Point, Idaho, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Floryce.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at Ebenezer AME Church, 902 Park Ave. in Bremerton.
Miller, Alice Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005
Alice Jane Miller died Jan. 18 in Federal Way. She was 95.
She was born Nov. 27, 1909 in Yachats, Ore.
Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Miller; a sister, Hazel Gourley; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lester; son Lester Jr.; daughter Elizabeth Ann; three brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Jan. 26 at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 2520 Sixth Ave., in Tacoma.
The family suggests that memorials be made to American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103, or Sixth Avenue Baptist Church.
McDonald, Kenneth Monday, 03 Jan 2005
Kenneth Benson Clark McDonald of Federal Way died Jan. 3. He was 85.
He was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Gibson's Landing, British Columbia, to Margaret and Benson Smith McDonald.
After serving as a paratrooper during World War II, he established several financial management consulting firms. He was a pioneer in the computerized accounting field. After retirement, he taught at community colleges.
In 1991, he and his wife moved to Federal Way from the Shoreline-Edmonds area to be near their daughter and her family.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise; a daughter, Marilyn Locking; a son, Robert Benson McDonald; and two grandchildren.
A private inurnment service was conducted at Tahoma National cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests acts of kindness for someone in need.
Radawick, Beverly Friday, 07 Jan 2005
Beverly Radawick, a longtime Redondo Beach resident, died Nov. 8. She was 88.
She was born Sept. 28, 1916.
She was a wife, mother and grandmother.
Arrangements were by Commencement Bay Cremation Plan.

Humphrey, John Saturday, 08 Jan 2005
John R. Humphrey of Federal Way died Dec. 24, 2004, the day after his 80th birthday.
He was born in Chicago, Ill.
He graduated from Crane Technical High School (1942), and Loyola University (1950), and earned a masters degree in Latin American history from Seattle University (1968).
While recovering at the VA Hospital in New Mexico from a tropical illness following his World War II service in India and China, he met his wife, Maria, the nurse who supervised his care. They were married
in 1954.
He was employed with Boeing from 1957 until 1970. He immediately started a new career as a social studies teacher at Federal Way High School, where he taught until his retirement in 1988. He was also the coach of the school’s chess team.
Survivors include his wife and sons John and Scott.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 3939 SW 331st St. in Federal Way. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, or St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
Manning, Eleanor Saturday, 08 Jan 2005
Eleanor Manning Foley, a longtime south King County-area resident, died Dec. 20 in Auburn. She was 76.
She was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Albany, Ore..
She moved with her husband, Frank Foley, to the Seattle area in 1948.
Survivors include five children –– Christy Laurie of Federal Way, Mike Foley of Lake Tapps, Debbie Hardy of Des Moines, Karen Karlen of Port Orchard and Nancy Stoneback of Bonney Lake –– and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Belmor Park clubhouse, 2101 S. 324th St. in Federal Way.
The family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Hancock, Douglas Monday, 03 Jan 2005
Douglas F. Hancock, a Federal Way resident since 1958, died Jan. 3. He was 81.
He was born Jan. 31, 1923 and raised in Rocky Ford, Colo..
He attended the University of Wyoming on a football scholarship.
During World War II, he was a naval officer and pilot based on Whidbey Island. He flew missions across the Aleutians to Japan.
In 1948, he married
Donna J. Rinehart in Trinidad, Colo., and last year they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
In 1953, he joined Northwest Airlines as a pilot. He retired after 30 years as a captain, flying primarily to the Orient.
After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife; children Don Hancock, Janice Daugherty, Stacey Bohrer and Laurie Hancock; eight grandchildren; and brothers Harold, Lee and Robert, all of Rocky Ford.
A celebration of his life is set for 3 p.m. today at Marine View Presbyterian Church, 8469 Eastside Drive NE., in northeast Tacoma.

Barnes, Cadett Monday, 20 Dec 2004
Cadett A. Barnes died Dec. 20 at his home in Federal Way.
He was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 9, 1915.
He graduated from Whittier College and married
MaryEllen Miller in 1938 in Whittier, Calif. In 1941, he enrolled at UCLA. After teaching in elementary schools in California, he and his family moved in 1956 to Lynnwood, where he taught for a year. He also taught on Camano Island and in Mount Vernon, retiring in 1980 after 37 years in education.
He served as a Boy Scout leader, worked for YMCA, was a member of Everett Mountaineers and was active in the Methodist church.
Survivors include daughters Dorothy Wheeler of Federal Way, Ellen Cook of Freeland, Nancy Adams of Seattle, Carrie Parris of Everett, Isle Lindall of Mount Vernon and Bea Robson of Sedro Woolley; a sister, Ferne Boice of Toledo; step-mother Cecile Barnes of Toledo; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1998, his parents, Alpha and Daisy Barnes, and a brother, Elton Barnes.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Jan. 8 at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 150 S. 356th St. in Federal Way. The family suggests that memorials be sent to the Joseph Foundation, 2000 SW, Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA 98023.
Andreasen, Kevin Sunday, 15 Oct 2006
Kevin Andreasen died Oct. 15, 2006, in Tacoma at age 30.
Born Jan. 10, 1976, he is survived by his mother, Gail Solberg of Federal Way; Paul Solberg, stepfather; Mirelda Shinkle, maternal grandmother; sisters Natalie Parmley of Bonney Lake, Michelle Skabelund of W. Jordan, Utah, Brenda Bushong and Kami Hinton, both of Federal Way; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
Andreasen was a 1994 graduate of Federal Way High School and completed courses at the Art Institute of Seattle. He was employed at Blumenthal Uniforms in SeaTac at the time of his death.
A viewing was held Oct. 19 at Yahn and Son Funeral Chapel in Auburn, with funeral services held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Federal Way. Burial will be at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Marvin L. Fitch died Oct. 17, 2006, at age 89.
He was married
to Lois Fitch for 68 years and is also survived by children Marveen Potter of Renton, Cheryl Covey of Federal Way and Byron Fitch of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 174 and Seventh Day Adventist Church. Gardening became his passion and his yard was beautiful.

Donald Golden
Donald Golden died Oct. 8, 2006, in Seattle at age 76.
He was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Bakersfield, Calif.
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Bakersfield as well as Kent, and retired in 1985 after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Glennis Golden of Federal Way; four daughters and one son — Kim Golden of Fife, Kelly Golden of Federal Way, Kristy Golden of Puyallup, Denise Stockton of Ojai, Calif., and Donald Golden of Bakersfield; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers Gary Golden of Bakersfield and Kenneth Golden of Sparks, Nev.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, followed by a 1 p.m. luncheon at The Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center inside the Red Gate at The Puyallup Fairgrounds.

Rortvedt, Edwin Thursday, 12 Oct 2006
Edwin Rortvedt died Oct. 12, 2006, at age 89.
Born July 8, 1917, in Tagus, N.D., Rortvedt was a resident of Federal Way for 57 years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Thelma; son Kermit (Trish); daughters Janice Pool (Dale), Valerie Timmons (Tim), Deborah Dill (Jim); nine grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A private committal service will be held at the Mountain View cemetery. A celebration of his life was held Oct. 17 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 2400 SW 344th St., Federal Way.
