Wilson, Dennis Friday, 11 Jun 2004
Dennis John Wilson of Federal Way died June 11 in Seattle. He was 60.
He was born Oct. 2, 1943 in Glendive, Mont., and was a graduate of Darby High School in Montana.
He served in the Air Force for eight years, one year being in Vietnam, where he was a recipient of the Bronze Star. After his military service, he was an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement Jan. 3 this year.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a son, Robert Wilson of Lakewood; a brother, Daryl Wilson of Erie, Mich., a sister, Diane Wilson of Three Forks, Mont.; and two grandchildren.
Services were conducted June 17 at Bethel Christian Center in Federal Way, followed by burial at Tahoma National cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Washington Medical Center, Department of Neurology, Neurology Tumor Fund, 1959 NE. Pacific, Box 356465, Seattle, WA 98195
Sarver, Audrey Thursday, 10 Jun 2004
Audrey Sarver, one of the first women to graduate from the University of Washington with a pharmacist degree, died June 10. She was 90.
Born of Swedish immigrants, she was a lifelong resident of the Seattle area.
She is survived by her children, Gary Sarver of Federal Way and Gayle Randle of British Columbia, Canada, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held June 15 at Marine View Presbyterian Church in Northeast Tacoma.
At the request of the family, donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements were by New Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home.
Noyes, Murle Saturday, 15 May 2004
Murle Landis Noyes of Ocean Park, formerly of Federal Way, died May 9 at Oregon Health Science University. He was 80.
Noyes was born May 9, 1924, to Claude and Leona Noyes in La Grande, Ore. He attended school in Imbler and worked on the family cattle ranch.
In 1941, he married
Mary Watkins.
During World War II, he enlisted in the Navy. After his honorable discharge, the family moved to Seattle and he worked in the Bremerton shipyards.
He started his own septic tank business, G & N Septic, in Federal Way. He sponsored Little League teams in Federal Way through his business.
After selling the business, he and his second wife, Millie Nickerson Noyes, whom he married
in 1975, purchased a recreation vehicle park in Ocean Park. He later sold it and established his own financial loan business, operating it until recently.
He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his children, Connie Peare of Mesa, Ariz., Sharon Noyes of Las Vegas, Nev., Candy and Harold Thorpe of Seattle, and Mark Noyes and Tania Brunell of Arcata, Calif.; a brother, David Noyes of Elgin; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudieann Noyes; his wife, Millie, in 1995; and two brothers, Tom and Charles Noyes.
A celebration of life was held May 14 at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, with interment at Summerville cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made to Shriner?s Hospital for Crippled Children, in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St., LaGrande, Ore. 97850.
Elliott, Virgil Friday, 07 May 2004
Virgil M. Elliott, a former Federal Way and Kent resident, died May 7 at American Lake Veterans Hospice in Tacoma. He was 79.
Born Nov. 3, 1925 in Kossuth, Miss., he grew up in Colorado City, Texas. In 1942, he joined the Navy and served aboard a minesweeper.
He worked as a produce manager, achieving national honors for produce displays.
He raised his family in Federal Way.
After retiring, he moved to Gresham, Ore. He was a member of the Sandy, Ore. VFW Post 4273.
Survivors include his children, Lynn Carrigan, Wayne Elliott and Brad Elliott of Federal Way, Pat Quinn of Auburn, Anieta Reust of Lakewood, Jeanne Voss of Denver, Colo., Dan Elliott of Detroit, Mich., and Mike Elliott of Australia; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Reed, and sister, Sue Hogue.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. May 27 at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to the American Lake Veterans Hospice in Tacoma.
Taylor-McEwen, Ashley Thursday, 06 May 2004
Ashley Marie Taylor-McEwen, died May 6. She was 16.
She was born June 30, 1987.
A celebration of her life was held on May 13 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Kent.

Hughes, Judiann Thursday, 06 May 2004
Judiann Evonn Hughes died May 6 in Spanaway. She was 31.
She was born May 16, 1972, in Seattle, and grew up in Federal Way and the south King County area.
She was a regional champion freestyle roller skater, competing nationally nine times, and was a cheerleader while in high school.
She worked as an aerobics instructor at Bally?s in Federal Way, choreographed dancing, taught salsa and hip hop dancing, and was a stockbroker with Charles Schwab in Federal Way.
Survivors include her children, Jacqualyn and Lathan; a step-child, Kaz; parents Carmelo and Sandra Greco of Federal Way; and siblings Joanne Greco, Lori Haeseler, John Greco and Carol Greco.
A celebration of her life was held May 15 at Church of Christ in Kent, followed by a private interment.

Mahoney, Lucille Thursday, 29 Jul 2004
Lucille Mahoney, 84, a former Federal Way resident, died July 29 in Longview.
She was born on Sept 18, 1919 in Seattle to William H. “Harry” Hicks and Mabel Ellen Stott.
She lived in Federal Way and Des Moines following her retirement until 2000. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle and the University of Washington. She worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska during World War II.
She met and married
Francis Mahoney while stationed in Alaska. They settled in Seattle.
She worked for 25 years for the Seattle school district as a secretary and later in the Student Placement Center.
Survivors include two of her children, Mary Mahoney of Nevada City, Calif. and Bill Mahoney of Longview, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death in 2002 by her third child, Neil Mahoney of Edmonds, and in 1985 by her husband.

Leverette, Robert Thursday, 08 Jul 2004
Robert Eugene Leverette, died July 8 at his home. He was 44.
He was a longtime Federal Way resident until moving to Edgewood eight months ago.
He managed the body shop at Bill Pierre Ford in Lake City and was an airbrush painter.
Survivors include his son, Jesse; sisters Susan Leverette Bagley and Sandy Leverette; and his father, Elwood. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joy.
Memorial services were held July 15 at St. Columba Episcopalian Church in Kent.
Garman, Donovan Saturday, 10 Jul 2004
Donavan E. (Don) Garman died July 10 at his Federal Way home. He was 70.
Born Feb. 14, 1934 in a log cabin in Winthrop, he joined the Army in 1953 and became a radio technician, serving in a remote Alaska radio station.
He earned a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Washington.
During a 37-year career at Boeing, he was part of the early space program and helped design the navigation system for the lunar rover and other spacecraft. After retiring from Boeing, he became president of a company that designed a new-concept diesel engine.
He founded the first south King County youth soccer association, the Lakecrest Soccer Club, and invented and built the first small fields for 5 to 7-year-olds. He coached his children’s sports teams, refurbished rental houses, and enjoyed backpacking with his children and sailing.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Virginia; children Steven, Joyce Cannon, David, Daniel and Russell; sisters Janet Bennet and Beverly Trotman; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held July 14 at Federal Way United Methodist Church.
Bielka, Earl Wednesday, 23 Jun 2004
Earl H. Bielka died June 23 in Tacoma. He was 75.
Born Sept. 6, 1928 in Norfolk, Va., he was a resident of Federal Way and Tacoma since the 1940s.
He was a displayman at Frederick and Nelson and was an accomplished artist.
Survivors include a son, Mark Bielka; a daughter, Susan Bielka; and brothers Bob and Ron Bielka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, in 1994.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2415 S. 320th St.
Arrangements are by Tuell-McKee Funeral Home in Tacoma.
Johnson, William Sunday, 19 Dec 2004
William Buckley Johnson died Dec. 12 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Seattle.
He was 58.
He was born Nov. 3, 1946 and was a Federal Way resident most of his life.
He was a Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include his sister, Christine Mitchell of Federal Way; nieces Megan and Charity Mitchell; and a nephew, John Mitchell.
A memorial service was held Dec. 17 at the VA Hospital in Seattle.
A funeral service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at Tahoma National cemetery.
