Shirley W. Sluys died Aug. 16, 2010, and will now be reunited with her brother, Lloyd Smith, recently deceased son, Walter “Jimmy” Stowe Jr., as well as her parents and other loved ones.
All who have been touched by Shirley are invited to a celebration of life and potluck style gathering at her home, 518 S.E. Washougal River Road, in Washougal, on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m.
Shirley will be laid to rest alongside family in Sutherlin, Ore.
Cora May Fitch Stortvedt
Cora May Fitch Stortvedt died June 26, 2010, in Longview, Wash. She was 83.
Interment was held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver. A celebration of life was held Aug. 21, in Longview.

Kirk D. Strobeck
Kirk Douglas Strobeck was born on Aug. 11, 1960, in Portland, Ore. He died Aug. 15, 2010, doing what he loved best – racing the wind near the mountain.
A memorial service was held Saturday, at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas.

Michael A. Barret
Michael Andrew Barret, cherished husband, father and friend, died Aug. 25, 2010.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, at the LDS Prune Hill Chapel. A natural burial interment followed at the Fern Prairie cemetery. Brown’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas was in charge of arrangements.

Lois Jean (Wheeler) Farnam died Aug. 24, 2010, in Longview, Wash. She was 67.
A celebration of life service was held Monday at Brown’s Funeral Home in Camas. A natural burial followed at the Fern Prairie cemetery in Camas.

Kenneth Edward Buchanan died Aug. 28, 2010, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. He was 63.
He was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Artisia, Calif., to H.G. and Barbara Buchanan.

Randy A. Garr
Randy A. Garr died Aug. 22, 2010, in a motorcycle accident. He was 51.
He was born May 13, 1959, in Eugene, Ore. A memorial service was held today at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas. A complete obituary will be published in a later edition of the Post-Record.

Clark Eugene Hager Jr. died Aug. 30, 2010. He was 54.

Edward Voorheis Baskette died Aug. 28, 2010, at his home in Ashland, Ore., with his partner Linda Cannon by his side. He was 78.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love of family, love of Country, and dedication to his work, particularly W.E. Plemons Machinery Services, Inc.
James L. ‘Jim’ Bredesen
James L. “Jim” Bredesen, a loving father, grandfather and friend, died Aug. 29, 2010. He was 70.
Service will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m., at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas. Viewing will be held at 9 a.m. There will be a celebration of Jim’s life following the service at noon, at the Vancouver Elk’s Lodge #823, 11605 S.E. McGillivray Blvd, Vancouver.
