At 23, Sheila passed away last November 29, 2003. She was born on August 29, 1980 in Banga, Aklan, Philippines. The oldest daughter of Glenn and Pelealyn Marin.
She is survived by her son, Derrick Lance Rosas; sibling Karen A. Marin; fiancé Ricky Rosas; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, niece and friends.
Visitation 4-9 PM Thursday and Friday, December 18 and 19, with Rosary at 7 PM Friday all at Columbia Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 9 AM Saturday, December 20, 2003 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Interment Gethsemane cemetery, Federal Way, WA

Margaret E. MANCINI
Born in Billings, Montana on Aug. 16, 1921
Died on Dec. 13, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.
cemetery: Calvary Catholic cemetery
Born Aug. 16, 1921 in Billings, Montana to Alfred and Lillian Fellows. Attended Immaculate Grade school and High School, graduating in the class of 1939.
She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Murphy and is survived by her husband John L. Mancini; Ret. Asst. Fire Chief for the Seattle Fire Dept., her daughter Marilee Hobart, two grandchildren; Tod P. Hobart and Jean Hobart, her sister Helen Lynch, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was greatly loved by all and will be sorely missed.
Funeral Mass 10 AM Friday, December 19, 2003, at St Barbara’s Catholic Church, Black Diamond, WA followed by entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Seattle. Under the direction of Columbia Funeral Home
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barbara’s Church.

James Patrick McCARTHY
Born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on Feb. 23, 1946
Died on Dec. 11, 2003 and resided in Bothell, WA.
James Patrick McCARTHY
57, died December 11, 2003 in the loving arms of his family.
He was born February 23, 1946 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and spent most of his adult life in Washington.
He is survived by his son, Cisco McCarthy of Kirkland; his mother, Patricia McCarthy of Woodbury, Minnesota; a sister, Teri Licari of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a brother, Tom McCarthy of Waikoloa, Hawaii.
Jim was the sole owner of ACE Saddle Co., known for costume and fine leather repair for over 23 years. He was a true craftsman and artist. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Memorial service will be private. Cremation arrangements by Columbia Funeral Home, Seattle.

Rosina (Merlino) ROTUNNO
Born in Taranta Peligna, Italy on Jul. 23, 1910
Died on Dec. 12, 2003 and resided in Federal Way, WA.

Our beloved Nonnie was born and raised in Taranta Peligna, Italy. preceded in death by her husband Guglielmo and brothers and sisters Domenico, Esterina, Virginia and Guido.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Virginia Carpinito; granddaughters, Angela (Mike), Lisa (Paul), Gina and six great grandchildren. Thank you Nonnie, for your unwavering strength and dedication to your family and to the Lord.

Visitation 1-7 PM today, Tuesday, December 16, at Columbia Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Entombment Calvary Mausoleum. Memorials may be made in Rosina Rotunno’s name to the Franciscan Hospice, P.O. Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401-9836.

Gerard Arthur JOHNSON
Born in Chicago, Illinois on Oct. 26, 1918
Died on Dec. 9, 2003 and resided in Fife, WA.
Gerard A. Johnson, a long time Fife and Milton, Washington resident, died December 9, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Seattle.
He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was providing security on the USS California when attacked by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. The ship was hit and he had to go into the water to survive. Gerard worked many years as a merchant seaman in overseas shipping.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Robeson of Auburn, Washington, 4 grandchildren (one that is attending the U.S. Naval Academy) and his twin sister Jane Rummell of Bellingham, Washington.
Cremation arrangements by Columbia Funeral Home, Seattle.

Willie James KENNEDY
Born in Calhoun, Louisiana on Mar. 27, 1938
Died on Dec. 5, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.

Born in Calhoun Louisiana on March 27, 1938 to Thomas and Lucy Kennedy. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1957. Upon leaving the military he came to Seattle.
Married Clara McNeil in 1960 and had children; Dolores Staten and Debra Kennedy; both of Seattle. Predeceased is son Tommy Kennedy.
Worked as a mail clerk for the US Postal Service for 26 years.
Willie enjoyed spending his free time shooting pool with pals.

Erik E. TAMMINEN
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on Nov. 28, 1921
Died on Nov. 30, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.
cemetery: Tahoma National cemetery
Age 82, born November 28, 1921. Died peacefully after a 15 month battle with cancer with family by his side.
He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII flying in the B29s. He worked many years as a Sheetmetal Worker.
Erik is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anne; sister Ellen; son, Jim Tamminen; daughter Kathy (Cliff) Hawkins; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Committal service with military honors 11:30 AM Friday, December 5, 2003, at Tahoma National cemetery, Kent, Washington.

Opal R. COOP
Born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Jan. 4, 1917
Died on Nov. 3, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.

Opal Roach Coop, 86, passed away November 3, 2003 in Seattle.
She had lived in Seattle for the past 3 1/2 years coming from Muncie, Indiana where she lived for many years. She worked for over 37 years in the school cafeterias for the Muncie (Indiana) Community Schools.
Opal is survived by her daughter Virginia Coop-Ullman of Kent, Washington.
Opal was transported to Muncie, Indiana for services and burial at Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Elm Ridge Memorial Park

Elizabeth (Bette) Janet HARRIS
Born in Tacoma, Washington on Aug. 4, 1911
Died on Nov. 25, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.

Elizabeth (Bette) HARRIS
Died November 25, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William (Bud) Harris and also by grandchildren Sean Timothy Fiorito and Douglas Edwin Harris. Survivors are sons Gary and Dell Harris, daughter Jolene Fiorito, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Bette was a Frederick & Nelson retiree. Her great enjoyment was dancing, caring for her pet Pekingese and the many trips she and Bud made to Hawaii.
Funeral Mass 10 AM Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at St. George Catholic Church in Seattle. Burial will follow at Holyrood cemetery, Shoreline.

Bennye Lazell GREEN
Born in Berwyn, Oklahoma on Jul. 27, 1917
Died on Nov. 6, 2003 and resided in Seattle, WA.

Bennye Johnson Green was born July 27, 1917 to Manley and Belle Johnson in Berwyn, Oklahoma. She was the seventh child of ten. Bennye lived in Chicago in the early 1940s and worked for Dr. Arthur G. Falls and the U.S. Immigration Service. Bennye came to Seattle in 1946. She married Wilbur A. Green and to this union they were blessed with three lovely children—Sharon, William and Carol Green-Sistrunk. Bennye’s husband, Wilbur, preceded her in death in 1978 as did seven of her siblings.
In 1957 she began a 25 year career at the Washington Athletic Club serving as Hostess in the Men’s Grill. Upon her retirement in 1982, she enjoyed life by volunteering at St. Mary’s, traveling, and becoming a member of the Secular Order of the Carmelites.
She is survived by her three children, a sister Jerilyn (Louis) Smoot and a brother Mackie (Pearl) Johnson from Detroit; sisters-in-law Marilyn Green of Los Angeles, Lillie Green of San Jose, and Virginia Johnson of Seattle. Also a host of nieces and nephews.
Bennye was loved by all who knew her, even if for a brief time. She will be truly missed.
