Levenseller, Wilma
Wilma Claire Levenseller, 88, of Southworth, died July 30, 2006 at Belmont Terrace in Bremerton after a bout with cancer.
Mrs. Levenseller was born in Southworth on June 20, 1918. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1936 and married
Clifford Levenseller on July 26, 1940.
She was a member of the John B. Allen Guild for Children’s Hospital in Seattle and also enjoyed her family, needlework, music and cooking.
Mrs. Levenseller is survived by her son Philip (Jacqueline) Levenseller of Silverdale; daughters Alice Hawkins of Snohomish and Ann Anderson (Doug Northcutt) of Bremerton; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Johnny and sisters Evelyn, Phyllis and Josephine.

York, Bob
Clarence Robert York, better known as Bob to his family and friends, died July 18, 2006 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. The Silverdale resident was 78.
Mr. York was born in Edmonds, Wash., to Fay and Esther York. After high school he served two years in the Army and then attended Washington State University where he graduated with his teaching certificate. He started teaching in the Bremerton School District before Olympic College sent him over to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard to teach at the apprentice school. It was there he spent the majority of his 30-year teaching career.
When not in the classroom, Mr. York enjoyed family gatherings, restoring classic cars and woodworking. He also served as a Silverdale Water District commissioner from 1963 until 1971.
Mr. York is survived by Elizabeth Gardner York, his wife of 16 years, and her children Gwyneth Dee Ball, Andrew Gardner, Steve Gardner, Rosemary Gardner, Tim Gardner and Carolyn Gonzales; sisters Mary Warren of Silverdale, Nancy (Bob) Plaisance of Allyn and Jean Kraft of Port Angeles; brother William (Laura) York; and nieces and nephews Tim Knapp, Jim Knapp, Dianne Soderlund, Steve Plaisance, Chris Plaisance, Troy Plaisance, Tim York, David York and Mindy York.
He was preceded in death by Acklin Knapp, his first wife whom Mr. York married
in 1952.
A celebration of Mr. York’s life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Silverdale Lutheran Church, 11701 Ridgepoint Drive Northwest. Memorial donations are requested for Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
Avery Sr., Desi
Desi Ricardo Avery Sr. of Everett died July 14, 2006 from injuries suffered in a car accident near Anaconda, Mont. The former Poulsbo and Bremerton resident was 51.
Mr. Avery was born Dec. 26, 1954 in Battleboro, N.C. to Verna (Walker) and Warren Avery. He graduated from Edgecomb Technical High School in Rocky Mount, N.C. in 1973 and joined the Army soon after, serving until 1975. He married
his wife of 32 years Wanza (Williams) Avery on Dec. 28, 1973 in Everett.
After being discharged, Mr. Avery worked in Atlantic City area as a cook and in the Atlantic City Fire Department. He moved to Washington in 1990 and was hired by a number of Alaskan fishing vessels as a cook and chief steward.

Charyn, Teresa
Teresa Lee Charyn died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the age of 52. Mrs. Charyn, who was known by the nickname Curls, was a resident of Bainbridge Island. She was born April 29, 1954 in Spokane to Bonnie Bell and Joseph Wright Tuke and married
Sandy Charyn on July 21, 1984 at Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo. The couple has one daughter, Cassy.

Mock, Dollie
Dollie J. Mock of Bremerton died of natural causes on July 17, 2006, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She was 69.
Mrs. Mock worked as a cook at a number of local restaurants and delis, most notably she spent 20 years cooking at Noah’s Ark in Bremerton. She also worked at Pat’s Cookie Jar, Payless and the deli counters at Fred Meyer and Garguile’s Red Apple.
She was born July 5, 1937, in Oakland, Calif. to Ruby (Richards) Tracy and Ward Tracy.
Mrs. Mock is survived by: her son, Gary Mock of Bremerton; daughters Dr. Diana Tracy of Oakpark, Ill., Tammy Mock of Bremerton and Tracy (Chris) Baughn of Spokane; grandchildren Mackenzie, Katelyn, Chloe and Carlea Baughn and Alexander and Madison Tracy; nurse Pam Walters; caregiver Teresa Labalan and many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Leon Tracy.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked for Keyport Bible Church where Mrs. Mock was a member. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Keyport Bible Church.
See, Jean
Jean Phillips Carter See died April 29, 2006, at her Bainbridge Island home after a long illness, surrounded by her family. She was 86.
She and her husband of 63 years, Samuel See, lived in Spokane for 31 years before they moved to Poulsbo in 2002 and then in 2004 to Bainbridge Island. Mrs. See was born in 1920 in Bremerton, the daughter of Dayton Otis Carter and Clara Carter. Her mother was a pioneer school teacher in Kitsap County, at Central Valley Elementary School and at the Holly School. Mrs. See graduated at age 15 from Silverdale High School, and attended the University of Washington for music for two years. She was an accomplished pianist and soprano.
From 1939 to 1943, she worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, where she met her husband, a naval officer. They lived with their three daughters in Seattle until 1969, when Mr. See, an engineer with the Standard Oil Co. of California, was transferred to Boise, and then to Spokane.
Mrs. See was a vivacious, outgoing individual whose main interests aside from her family were music, gardening, and traveling. She was an avid reader, always keenly interested in ideas, and instilled the love of music, books and ideas in her children and grandchildren. She and her husband made numerous trips to England, Ireland, Europe and China, and prepared slide show presentations, particularly of the gardens they visited. They enjoyed trips to the Yakima Valley at harvest time, where they gathered wine grapes for the vintages they made for 30 years. Mrs. See was active for nearly 50 years in PEO. For many years she also was active in the libraries of Seattle, Boise and Spokane. She participated in the early planning for a new Boise public library, and for two years was president of the Foley Library Associates at Gonzaga University.
Mrs. See is survived by her husband of the family home; daughters Katherine See Kennedy and Janet See, both of Bainbridge Island, and Emily Wilson of New Westminster, B.C.; granddaughters Megan Kennedy and Jessica Kennedy of Seattle; grandsons Samuel Reddy of Bainbridge Island and Ian Wilson of Vancouver, B.C.; sons-in-law Alfred Kitching and William Reddy and a soon-to-be grandson-in-law, Nathan Schlicher of Bremerton.
Cote, Laureus
Laureus Cote, of Bremerton, died April 28, 2006, at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. He was 88.
Mr. Cote served in the Army during World War II in North Africa and Italy, taking part in the invasion of the Anzio Beachhead in 1944 where he received a Purple Heart. He moved to Bremerton in 1952 where he worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until 1971.
Mr. Cote was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Willow City, N.D., to Rebecca and Alfred Cote. He married
Loretta Ermer of Walhalla, N.D., in 1947 and they were together until her death in 2000.
After retiring, the couple spent their winters in Apache Junction, Ariz. Mr. Cote filled his time tinkering on cars, doing handyman work, vegetable gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Cote is survived by his sister Fern LaGasse of Minneapolis; sons Leo (Jeanette) Cote and Larry (Francie) Cote; daughter Lynn (Tim) Heiser; and grandchildren Jennifer (John ) Pebbles, Christopher Cote, and Heather, April, Amber and Haley Heiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers Urbain and Cecil.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A military graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the Tahoma National Veterans cemetery in Kent.
Memorial donations are asked for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 in Bremerton.
Laudet, Domingo
Domingo Tariga Laudet died April 25, 2006, at Harrison Medical Center. A resident of Bremerton, he was 81 years old.
Mr. Laudet was born on Dec. 25, 1924, in Sorsogon, Philippines, as one of Pablo and Basilia (Tariga) Laudet’s six children.
In 1947 he went to work as a federal firefighter where he was stationed at Subic Bay Naval Station in the Philippines; Okinawa, Japan; and Saigon, Vietnam. He ended his firefighting career in 1970 as an assistant fire chief.
Mr. Laudet married
his wife, Josephine Acayan Palermo, on June 17, 1961, in Iba, Zambales, Philippines. In 1973 the family moved to the United States where Mr. Laudet found jobs at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Retsil Veterans Home and the Lockheed shipyard in Seattle before he was hired at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard to be a pipefitter in Shop 56. He retired from PSNS after suffering an injury while working on the USS Carl Vinson in 1992.
In his free time, Mr. Laudet enjoyed reading, watching boxing matches on TV, gardening and doting on his four grandchildren.
Visitations are scheduled for noon-4 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Lewis Chapel in Bremerton. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Mr. Laudet is survived by his wife of the family home; sons Jose (Shannan) Palermo Laudet of Bremerton and Dennis Palermo Laudet of Kailua, Hawaii; daughter Jean (Rodolfo) Pascual of Bremerton; and grandchildren Justine and Ryan Pascual and Leather and Kaiona Laudet, all of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mateo Laudet and Federico Laudet, and sisters Leonida Laudet, Carmen Guevarra and Anastasia Laudet.

Fahy, Lloyd
Lloyd A. Fahy of Poulsbo died Feb. 19, 2006, at Harrison Medical Center. He was 76.
Mr. Fahy was an independent grocer for a number of years with stores in Bremerton and Port Townsend until 1980. Then in 1982 he began work as a Realtor until his retirement in 2005.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1929 in Larimore, N.D., to Viola K. Hendrickson. Mr. Fahy married
his wife of 56 years, Roberta “Bobbie” Eason, on Aug. 21, 1949, in Poulsbo in the middle of his three-year stint in the U.S. Navy.
A man who enjoyed pheasant hunting, salmon fishing and trap shooting, Mr. Fahy was a founding member of the Jefferson County Sportsman’s Club and was co-chair of the shotgun committee of the Poulsbo Sportsman Club.
Mr. Fahy is survived by his wife of the family home; son David A. Fahy of Kingston; son-in-law Ric S. Davis of Kingston; grandchildren Nicole Fahy and Michael Wood of Port Orchard, Andrea (Eric) Wilken of Wichita, Kan., Robert Fahy of Corvallis, Ore., and Allyson Davis and Ashley Davis, both of Kingston; and great-grandchild Brandon Wood of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Anna Davis, in 1996.
A memorial service for Mr. Fahy is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Feb. 25 at The Stone Chapel, 22272 Foss Road Northeast, in Poulsbo. Inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery. Lahti, Gladys
Gladys J. Lahti died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Forest Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center after a bout with Parkinson’s disease. The Silverdale resident was 82.
Mrs. Lahti was born to Helen and John Mirosevich on March 14, 1923 in Anacortes. She graduated from Everett (Wash.) High School in 1941 and married
Wilho E. Lahti on Oct. 20, 1956 in Everett.
A long-time homemaker, Mrs. Lahti worked as a secretary at the state reformatory in Monroe and at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
She was involved with the Sons of Norway and was a Lady of the Elks.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Lahti is survived by her husband of the family home in Silverdale; daughter Rose Lahti of Silverdale; grandchildren Robbie, Rory and Randi Lee, Brittany and Nick Zawadzki, Courtney Upshaw and Broc Lahti-Odegaard; and great-grandchildren Jayden, Gianna and Desiah Upshaw. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Lahti, brothers Tony and John Mirosevich, sister Helen Burich and her parents.
A visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5505 Kitsap Way in Bremerton. Her funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. the same day at Miller-Woodlawn. Ryan, Thomas
Thomas W. Ryan of Wildcat Lake died Sept. 5, 2005 surrounded by family and friends at Virginia Medical Center in Seattle.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1930 to Thomas Sr. and Barbara Ryan in Seattle. After graduating from O’Dea High School, the family moved to Monterey, Calif. where Ryan met and married
his wife of 48 years, Marilynne Robinson.
Ryan served in the military and worked as a superintendent in heavy construction projects, mainly on bridges across the Pacific Northwest and the Delta Pier at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor.
He enjoyed his family and friends, genealogy, helping those in need and working on his 1950 Ford.
Ryan, a former long-time Poulsbo resident, is survived by: his sons Thomas of Bremerton and Patrick of Missouri; daughters Shannon (Mark) Wagner of Albany, Ore. and Susan (Greg) Morgan of Bremerton; grandchildren Cheryl, Timothy, Patrick, Zachary, Gabe, Kristopher, Cassandra, Travis and Nicholas; six great-granadchildren; sister Barbara (Robert) Mahaney of Monterey; brother Dennis (Joan) Ryan of Spokane; companion Jean Beals and family, all of Wildcat Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilynne in 1999.
