David L. Fedje
David L. Fedje, age 60, of Mountlake Terrace, WA, passed away January 28, 2004 in Everett, WA.
David was born September 29, 1943 in Rugby, ND.
He is survived by his wife Mary A. Addleman-Fedje, and grandchildren, Erik A. Hargitt and Riley Ann Hargitt, all of the family home; three step children, Sonsearaye Deeds, Sean L. Hargitt, and Charles (Tony) A. Hargitt; three adult grandchildren, Scott Sheppard, Destiny Hargitt, and Michael Hargitt; his brother Richard Fedje; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2nd from 12:00noon until 5:00pm in Beck's Funeral Home, 405-5th Ave. S., Edmonds, 425-771-1234, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 11:00am in Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215-196th St. S.W., Lynnwood.
Memorials may be given to Terrace Park School, 5409-228th Ave. SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043.
Evelyn J. Justason
Evelyn (Peterson) Justason, 75, of Edmonds, passed away January 28, 2004 in her sleep.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday February 3rd at 2:00pm at Purdy Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood, WA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lynnwood Fire Department.
Frances (Fran) O'Day
Fran O'Day, 66, of Camano Island, WA, passed away suddenly January 25, 2004 in Yuma, AZ.
Fran was born March 26, 1937 in Seattle, WA. She raised six children and was retired from the nursing profession.
She leaves her beloved fiance Thor Olsen of Camano Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Lance Miller of Las Vegas, Jeffery and Laura Miller of Marysville, Mark Miller of Seatac, Patrick and Carmen O'Day of Tulalip, and Christopher O'Day and Heather Rossman of Stanwood; daughter and son-in-law Nanette and Michael York of Camano Island; brother Clayton Kline of Arlington; sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Daryl Brayton of Camano Island; beloved grandchildren, Angie, Rocky, and Tristin Miller, Misty Jurgensen and Tricia Miller, Vanessa, Jason and Brian O'Day, and Carissa O'Day; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Fran was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Denise Miller; brother Bill Kline; parents Lynn and Patricia Kline; and her best buddy Buster.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on February 7th at the Camano Chapel.
Gerald "Jerry" Richard Isaacson
Gerald "Jerry" Richard Isaacson, 74, of Mill Creek, passed away on January 29, 2004. He was born June 30, 1929 in Northland, WI to Elmer and Ivy Isaacson.
A memorial service will be held on February 12, 2004 at the Mill Creek Community Church, 16415 North Rd., Mill Creek.

James Craig Frew
Mar. 22, 1921 - Jan. 19, 2004
James C. Frew, Major USMC (Retired) beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2004 surrounded by his loving family.
Jim is survived by his loving children, Mary Jane and Stephen Ott, James F. and Lyn Frew, Patricia and Louis George, Maria Carrales, Sue Ann Farrell; grandchildren, SarahBeth, Christopher and Alex George, James R. Frew and Griffen Farrell.
His loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Jane K. Frew and his son Robert Craig Frew preceded him in death.
His children and grandchildren will always remember him for his ever present love, and caring as he supported them in their special interests and endeavors.
He served his country first in the Navy and then in the Marine Corps. A decorated war veteran, he was a night fighter pilot in the Solomon and Mariana Islands with the elite VMF (N) 534. He met his wife Jane when she was serving as a Lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II. As one of the Chosin Few, he served with distinction in the Korean Conflict. In addition he had multiple assignments stateside as well as in Japan and Okinawa. Upon retirement from the Marine Corps, he enrolled in George Peabody College for Teachers as a first quarter freshman and earned a Bachelors and Master's Degree in Education with honors.
A man of honor and integrity, always faithful to duty, he had a great love of God, country and family. He was a Mason, adult leader for Rainbow Girls and an active member of the United Methodist Church. Jim had a brilliant mind, quick wit, dry sense of humor and kind heart. He pursued his interests and hobbies with military precision and thoroughness always sharing what he learned with others. He was known for his marksmanship, photography and custom framing, fine woodworking, carpentry and furniture making, wood-carving, pattern making, gardening, model train expertise and rehabilitation of injured or dispirited small animals. Combining unrelenting high expectations with strategically placed encouragement, he helped others discover latent abilities and strengths, interests and talents.
A quiet, gentle man he was loved by all who were blessed by his presence in their lives.
Services including full Military Honors, were held on Monday, January 26th at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
James Edward Mirabella
Dec. 19, 1943 - Jan. 30, 2004
Jim passed away at home January 30, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by his family.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and lending a helping hand to those he knew around him. Jim was a member of the Granite Falls Lions Club.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 11 years, Judy. His daughters, Nikki (Josh) Tokarsyck, Janelle (Chad) Ling, step-daughter Merrilee Kimmons, step-son Matt Kimmons, 6 grandchildren, Tanner, Hailey and Cameron Tokarsyck, Carson and Dylan Ling and Jordan Kimmons, his brother Tom (Barb) Mirabella, sisters Rita (Don) Trent, Mary (Pat) Windsor all of Illinois, and also, numerous other family members and friends.
Jim's family would like to thank Western Washington Medical Group of Oncology staff for their loving care and support and also Providence Hospice Team A.
A memorial service in Jims honor, will be Tuesday, February 3rd at 11AM at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County in Jim's name.
Kenneth LeeRoy Ervin
Kenneth LeeRoy Ervin, 80, of Everett, WA, passed away in his sleep on January 28, 2004.
He was born July 13, 1926 in Fort Morgan, CO. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis in October 2003. They had been married 56 years. He was a long time resident of Everett and owner of Sign Post Signs. He served many years as Commander with the local VFW 2100 Club.
He is survived by his four children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at the VFW 2100, 2711 Oakes Ave., Everett, WA 98201 on February 7th at 11:00am.
Remembrances can be made to the VFW 2100 or a favorite charity.

Margaret E. Seat
Margaret E. Seat was born May 2, 1929 in San Francisco, January 9, 2004. Margaret resided in Washington most of her life.
She enjoyed animals, doing puzzles and playing video games with her grandson DJ. She loved music and being with her family.
She leaves her children, Emila Everist and Ira Swearengin; Sister, Dorothy; and three grandchildren, Becky, Renae and DJ.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 11AM at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, WA.
Margaret Lorraine Olson

Margaret Lorraine Olson, 83, of Anacortes, WA, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2004 at the Alliance Convalescent Home.
Margaret was born on August 26, 1919 in Bemidji, the daughter of Charles and Dexie Olive Gaines. Margaret attended school in International Falls, MN and Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada. She married Earl Tessier and moved to Everett, WA. In 1961 she married Ivan Olson and moved to Anacortes, WA.
She leaves her loving husband and best friend Ivan Olson of Anacortes, WA; her daughter Diana Troupe of Everett, WA; grandchildren Susan Presley of Mukilteo, WA; sisters, Virginia Reid of Ft. Frances, Ontario, Canada, Beatrice Eaton of Anacortes, WA, Alice Koschak of Silver Bay, MN, Darlene Richards of Effie, MN, Donna Wilson of Pomona, NJ; brother Norman Gaines of Allegan, MI; special niece Lois Connolly-Jones of Anacortes, WA and nephews, Jim Arthurs of Anacortes, WA and Ken Arthurs of Aiea, HI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Margaret's request, there will be no services.
Roy Burdette Leff "Lefty"
Roy Burdette Leff, of Marysville, passed away on January 20, 2004 at age 88.
Roy, "Lefty", was born on December 28, 1915 in Iowa.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Mae, Charles and Oscar Junior.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Levone; son, Brad and his wife Nancy; beloved granddaughter, Christie; his sister, June; brother Weare; and goddaughters, Cindy (Joseph) Divita and Sally (Timothy) Lauren.
Roy served in World War II as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Fifth Army in Africa and Italy under General Mark Clark. Lefty remained in the active Army Reserves and retired from the Army in 1969 at the rank of "Major."
He was a member of the Snohomish County Reserve Officers Association serving as president. He was a member of the American Legion, serving as commander, a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Everett Elks. Active in the City of Marysville, he voted in June of 1949 to cancel the Marysville Strawberry Festival and Parade in an attempt to minimize public contact and protect the youth during the polio epidemic of that time.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting in both Eastern Washington and Canada for 30 years. Along with many others, he introduced the joy of outdoor activities to Marysville youth in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was an active supporter of scouting and served as leader of the Marysville Chapter of Cub Scouts.
Lefty enjoyed a 50-year career in the automotive business and along with his partner, Brad Bartlett, owned and operated B&L Auto Parts in Everett, APD Auto Parts in Mt. Vernon and Olympic Automotive Warehouse. His role as outside representative led to many friends.
The family is grateful for the loving care Lefty received at the end of his life from the nurses and staff at Heritage Court.
Memorial Services will be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave., Marysville, WA on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 1:00pm.

Susan E. Roe
Susan Roe, 49, of Everett passed away Wednesday January 28th.
Sue is survived by six children, Tiffany, Mike, David, Wyatt, Kevin, and Angela; grandchildren Marcus, Kyree, Sean Michael, Kyle, Marie, Chase, McKenzie, and Alicia; sister Jodi and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Charity.
Viewing will be at Soley Funeral Home on 33rd and Colby in Everett on Saturday February 7th, from 9 am til noon. Memorial services will be at Northside Church of God at 2532 Virginia at 1pm; family and friends will gather afterward at that location.
Sue loved her family and friends. Everyone who knew her has a happy memory to recall and she will be missed.
Wayne H. Vaders
Wayne H. Vaders, of Everett, lost his courageous battle with cancer on January 24, 2004 at the age of 64.
Wayne moved to the Lynnwood area in 1956 and was well known and respected in the construction business throughout Snohomish and King counties. He enjoyed traveling to Arizona for the winter, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Vaders; children, Judy Bangerter of Everett, Kelly Vaders of Olympia, Mary Jo Peacock (Charlie) of Granite Falls, Margo Swanson of Mountlake Terrace, Cheryl Vaders of Blackhawk, CA, Matt Vaders (Teresa) of Snohomish; sister, Ann Fick of Lynnwood; brothers, Vern Vaders of Lynnwood, Rodney Vaders of North Dakota, Rick Vaders of Buckley; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ulla Vaders.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 1:00pm at Lynnwood Church of the Nazarene, 5326 176th St. SW, Lynnwood.

James D. Williams
James D. Williams, born in Missouri on February 4, 1954, passed away in Missouri on January 30, 2004 due to health issues.
He leaves behind two sons and six grandchildren.
He lived in the Arlington area and worked for Monroe State Prison for 12 years.
Johnie E. Rhodes, Jr.
Johnie E. Rhodes, Jr., 86, of Everett, WA, passed away on January 24, 2004 at 10:48pm. His Heavenly Father entered his bedroom and took him to His Home on high. Now all is well with Johnie's soul!
He was born November 17, 1917 in Carlisle, AR the son of Johnie E. Sr. and Ida Mae Rhodes. He served in the U.S. Navy for 27 1/2 years, retiring in 1967. Johnie worked at General Hospital where he retired after 15 years. He enjoyed bingo, being with his grandchildren and cutting his friends hair. Johnie was a loving father and a pleasure to all who knew him.
He is survived by his five sons and two daughters, Carlton (Tocha) Norfleet of Juneau, AK, Gary (Castello) Rhodes of Jacksonville, FL, Manuel J., Morris L., and David A. Rhodes, all of Everett, Shasta (David) Stenson and Lesley A. Rhodes, all of Everett; brother Clarence Rhodes of Little Rock, AR; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Johnie E. Sr. and Ida Mae Rhodes; a son Levester Rhodes; brother Elijah Rhodes; and sister Bestella Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 31st at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel, Everett, with a repast to follow at Bailey AME Church, 2908 12th ST. Everett, WA. A committal service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 2nd at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA.
Jason Paul Hatlestad
Jason Paul Hatlestad, beloved son of Ralph and Dee Hatlestad, left us on January 15, 2004, as a result of an aneurysm. Other survivors include his sister, Sandi Staples, and her sons, Max and Alex Staples, an aunt, uncles, numerous cousins, and friends.
Jay was born December 2, 1970 in Spokane, WA and died at home in Tucson, AZ. He grew up in the Marysville area, attended Marysville schools and Edmonds Community College, and had also resided in Minneapolis. He had a love of writing, music and the outdoors.
The family suggests memorials to the charity of one's choice. In loving memory of Jay, we wish you peace and harmony.
