A graveside service will be held at Cypress Llawn Mausoleum at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 and a time of visitation will be held on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am until 8:00pm at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Ave., Everett.

Larry Allen Cookman
Larry Allen Cookman, 59, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2003 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born October 2, 1944 in Toppenish, WA to Hosea and Eleanora Cookman. He graduated from David High School in Yakima and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Bar-S Meat Company and later the Oberto Sausage Company.
Larry was known for his incredible heart and sense of humor. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He loved the ocean, the outdoors and his three dogs; Mistie, Kavick and Bella. Larry was a wonderful caring man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife Janice of Lynnwood; mother Eleanora Nelson; daughter Deana (Tim); son Michael; grandchildren, Anthony, Jacob, and Isabel; step-grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Danielle; daughter-in-law Marcia; siblings, Ronald (Nancy), Joyce (Floyd), and Marly (Joan); mother-in-law Marjorie; brother-in-law Rick; sister-in-law Marla (Jerry); nieces and nephews, Phyllis and family, Patti, Pam and family, Tom, James, Sean and family, Duane and family, Sean, Dain, Jamie (Takis) and Joshua; and many other family members.
The Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Marianne Kallicot
Marianne Kallicot, of Lake Stevens, WA, died December 22, 2003 with her family at her side.
Marianne was born May 19, 1932 to Elmer and Helen Anderson of Marysville. She married Donald Kallicot in July of 1950 and lived in the Lake Stevens area for 53 years.
Marianne is survived by her husband Don; and children, Linda, Lorraine, Larry and Lois. She was the grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of five. She also is survived by her sisters, Betty and Donna; and brothers, Charlie and Bill.
At her request no services or flowers.

William D. Kirstein
Bill Kirstein, age 74, passed away December 22, 2003 in Rancho Mirage, CA after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Everett, WA June 6, 1929 and was raised in the Everett and Snohomish areas, graduating from Everett High School in 1948. He was married to Ione Johnson in 1951 and together they raised three boys in the Everett/Snohomish area. After spending partial years in Palm Springs for over 17 years they moved there permanently just two years ago.
Bill spent his entire career in the gas and oil business having owned and operated a number of local service stations before purchasing West Oil Company in Snohomish in 1967 and renaming it Kirstein Oil. He moved his family there and enjoyed success in that community working every day with his wife Ione before retiring in 1982 at a fairly young age. Retiring early afforded him the opportunity to enjoy life in warmer climates in the winter and summers in the Puget Sound area.
He enjoyed golf and socializing with many friends in Cathedral City but also liked to come home to see family and friends in this area. He would say he had a wonderful life and enjoyed good health throughout his life until the very end. He will be missed by many, whose lives he touched in countless ways, as a husband, father, relative, employer, business associate and friend.
He leaves behind his wife of almost 53 years and best friend Ione, son Tim (wife Debbie and grandchildren Matt and Amy), son Scott (wife Karen and grandchildren Ashley and Taylor) and son Steve (wife Cheryl, grandchildren Carlee and Wes and great grandchildren Dylan and Caden). He also leaves behind his sister and brother in law Marguerite and Bud Bacon as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded by his parents, Al and Helen Kirstein, and his sister and brother in law Dorothy and Les Smith.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 6th at 2:00pm at Everett First Baptist Church located at 1616 Pacific Avenue in Everett.

William Franklin Pearce
William Franklin Pearce, 92, of Mountlake Terrace, WA, passed away on December 29, 2003 in Edmonds, WA.
He was born on February 24, 1911 in Gooding, ID.
William is survived by his wife Eveline; children, Maxine L. Selzer, Ronald W. Pearce, Gregory D. Pearce, Tamara L. Pearce, and Kevin G. Pearce; seven grandchildren, Douglas, Nicole, Paula, Allison, Douglas, Tamara, and Don; seven great grandchildren; sister Violet I. Keller; and brother Charles H. Pearce.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.
The Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 5, 2004 at 1:00pm at Salem Lutheran Church, 9906 - 232nd St. SW, Edmonds, WA. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood.
Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church.

Willie T. Lyle
Willie T. Lyle, of Tulalip, died December 30, 2003 in Marysville. Willie, was born in Rockport, WA on October 26, 1929.
A viewing service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, with Interfaith Service, 6:00pm at Tulalip Tribal Center. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am, Monday, January 5, 2004 at Tulalip Tribal Center, with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.
W. T. (Bill) Grimm
William Thomas Grimm, 87, of Arlington, WA and eldest son of pioneers, William G. and Dora Grimm, died peacefully on December 31, 2003.
He was born on October 5, 1916 at home. He was a wonderful father to son Thomas W. and wife Cheryl Grimm, grandfather of Hillary and Jessica Grimm. He also leaves behind brothers, George (wife Vi) and John (wife Betty Jane) and sisters Betty Keller (husband Lou), Martha Young, and Dorothy Carroll (husband George) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary of 52 years, brother-in-law Bill Young and sister-in-law Arlene Grimm.
Bill was a 61 year member of the Elks Club, 22 years with the Ballard Elks. He served in the Army stationed in Alaska. He was in the Alaska Communications Systems during WWII. He also served on the Lakewood School Board for a number of years. He was third generation living on the homeplace all his life.
His most notable achievement was working at Consolidated Dairy Products (Darigold) for 35 years in the Seattle Office. He was a shipping and billing clerk working for the company his father helped start in 1929. He had many friends in the transportation industry.
Memorials can be made to the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneers Association, the Little White Church on the Hill or a charity of your choice.
Per his request there will be no public services.

Yvonne May Madison
Yvonne Madison passed away peacefully at home, from breast cancer and liver cancer on Saturday, December 27, 2003.
Yvonne was born to Josephine and Arthur Bobbitt in Portland, OR on July 26, 1930. She attended the University of Oregon and later moved to Washington in 1956. Yvonne started tap dancing as a child. She operated Yvonne's Dance Studio in Lynwood, WA. from 1958 - 1963, where she taught many children to tap dance.
Yvonne enjoyed off road riding, skiing, sailing and golf. She moved to the Camaloch Golf Community in 1989 after living many years in the Prest Point area of Marysville. Yvonne loved golf and enjoyed there vacation place at Desert Air in Eastern Washington where she had two holes in one.
She is survived by her loving husband Leon; daughter Kathy LaRoche and husband Jim; son Doug Zwar; brother Robert Nelson and wife Lezlee; grandchildren Christopher and Kimberly LaRoche, and Natalya and Katarina Zwar. Yvonne will be greatly missed by all who new and loved her.
Memorial services will be held in the Spring.
Sharon Mae (Turnbull) Peterson
Sharon Mae (Turnbull) Peterson, age 60, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at her residence in Bothell, WA of breast cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 14th at Woodinville Lions Mt. View Community Club, Woodinville, WA 98072.
Timothy Thomas Ross
Timothy Thomas Ross, 49, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2003 at his home.
He was born on May 3, 1954 in Colville, WA, the son of David and Joy Ross. Tim grew up in Bridgeport, WA graduating high school in 1972.
Tim began his firefighting career at age 15 with the forest service. Following his work with the forest service, Tim worked as a smoke jumper based out of Winthrop, WA for three years. Tim dedicated his firefighting career to the Everett Fire Department for 25 years as a paramedic and instructor. Tim ended his career as a fire captain. He was also active with the Critical Incident Stress Management Team serving as the Washington State President during 2002-2003. Tim was a giver and lover of many things. He touched many lives with his smiles, jokes, and selfless ways.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Kelley Ross. He is also survived by his sons, Sean Ross and Stephen Ross, as well as Stephen's wife Jillian; his step-daughter Lara Harmon; stepson Matt Harmon; father and mother Joy and David Ross of Chewelah, WA; sister Julia Mead and her husband Skip along with their two sons; and his brother Marcus Ross along with Marcus's son and two daughters.
Tim's memorial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 12, 2003 at New Life Center, 6830 Highland, Everett. Family, friends and the brotherhood of firefighters will celebrate Tim's life at the Everett Yacht Club immediately following the memorial.
Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home, Everett.

Fay Collins
Fay Collins went to her Lord Jesus on December 7, 2003, with her husband by her side.
She was born to Fenza and George Keough in Rapid City, SD on April 10, 1931.
She is survived by her husband, C. Virgil; her children, Virgil Charles, Dan Edward (Karla), Dale Allen (Sue), Randy Lee (Lissa) and Sherri Mae (Rob). She also leaves behind her brother George (Santa) Keough; sisters Lyda Efland, Marion Cram and Opal (Lee) Anundi; brothers-in-law, C. Frank (Vi) Collins, Jack (Pat) Dunn; sister-in-law, Delanor (Gerald) Coomer; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Charley (Leslie), Jonathan, Jessica, Adrienne, Amanda, Shane, Danielle, Mikhail, Aimee, Adam, Sean, Chelsea, Nathan; and great grandchild Caitlin.

Fay will be remembered by all as a loving caring and giving person, who gave of herself unconditionally on a daily basis. Fay was a den mother and foster parent to many children. She was an active member in the community as a volunteer at the Snohomish Food bank and the Delta Rehab Center. She was very involved in the Horseshoe Grange where she held the position as lecturer for many years and was chairman of the fair booth and helped with the monthly Sunday dinners. Fay was a very talented and creative woman and many were recipients of her wonderful gifts. She impacted so many lives in such a positive way and she will be deeply missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 13th, at 1:00pm at the Horseshoe Grange.

Florence Mabel Panter
Florence Mabel Panter, 78, of Monroe, took her place amongst the angels on November 18, 2003.
She was born on October 30, 1925 in North Dakota.
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Flo was preceded in death by her son, Barney Walz.
She is survived by her brother, Tom Kallis; her sisters, Esther Hansen and Lucille Pilger; her two daughters, Judy Frost and Starr Walz; her son, Thomas Lombardy; as well as her grandchildren, Shawn Gould, Theodore Olney, Dan Frost, Angel Walz and their families, Lydia Kallis, Marie Lombardy, Neil Gould, Maggie Olney, Tracy Shipworth, Jeff Bennett, Andy Rothgarn; great-granddaughters, Halie and Sadie Olney, Valerie and Haley Rothgarn; as well as several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves us with a legacy of love that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, and will be remembered for her abundance of affection, devotion and generosity to her family, friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Monroe Faith Center Church at 3:00pm.

Gladys Rosella Semrau
Gladys Semrau died peacefully on December 2, 2003 in Mount Vernon, WA. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was born on February 7, 1915 in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada, second of five children born to Ray and Francis Hadley. The family moved to Seattle in 1923 and to Everett in 1928 where she graduated from High School.
In August 1934 she was married to Adam Semrau.
Gladys was a long time member and secretary at the First Presbyterian Church where she was also active in the choir and other church work.
Gladys was inseparable from her knitting basket and in recent years enjoyed providing knitted caps to Jackson Grade School. She also enjoyed her small catering service and was active in the Everett Sweet Adeline Barbershop Chorus. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time at their Camano Island beach home where they beach combed and enjoyed crab, clams, bass and salmon. The young grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her a great deal of pleasure.
She was preceded in death by Adam, her husband of 68 years, and a grandson, Brian.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Love of Everett; son, Donald and daughter-in-law Margaret of Mount Vernon; son, Dale and daughter-in-law Kathy of Seattle; four grandchildren, Mark and John Semrau of Mount Vernon, Janet Oishi of Seattle, David Semrau of San Diego; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Everett First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Everett First Presbyterian Church or choice of favorite charity.
John Leonard Allen, USCG (ret.)
John Leonard Allen, USCG (ret.), 84 of Marysville, WA, passed away December 7, 2003.
He was born July 24, 1919 in Fort Stevens, OR. He spent his retirement years in Snohomish County. John's career was in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during WWII. He married Juanita Foote on October 15, 1995. He was also married to Pauline Shelton for 43 years, the mother of his three children, until her death in 1984. He worked for the US Coast Guard from 1938 until 1962 (24 years) and Weyerhaeuser Mill B from 1962 until 1982 (20 years). John was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve and his interests were in walking the Oregon beaches and Westport, WA looking for agates, shells and collecting model lighthouses.
John is survived by his wife Juanita; a son, two daughters, two step daughters and one stepson: Rene Allen of Hawaii, Joanne Cookson of Hawaii, John David Allen of Connecticut, Karen McRae of Lake Joy, Robin Smith of Lake Forest Park and Gordon Foote of Edmonds; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; sister Barbara of Kelso; and two brothers, Chester Allen and George Salverson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 11th at the Solie Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Edmonds Memorial Park Cemetery, Edmonds.
