Marlene Lewison Leary

Marlene Joan Leary passed away December 4, 2003 at Providence Hospital, after a long battle with M. S. Marlene was born October 13, 1933 to Ben and Ida Lewison. She resided all of her life in the Everett and Marysville areas.

Marlene is survived by her son, Mike; sisters, Barbara Richards and Marge Thornton.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Ida Lewison.

A memorial service will be held at the Saint Mary's Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003, in Marysville WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any branch of Washington Mutual Bank in care of Marlene J. Leary for the University of Washington M.S. Fund.

Myrna L. Lamkin

Myrna L. Lamkin, 76, of Snohomish, WA, died December 6, 2003 in Snohomish.

She was born March 29, 1927 in Minot, ND, moving to Iowa in 1940, graduating from Davenport High School. She moved to Washington in 1949, and married Ron Lamkin in 1954. Myrna was a charter member of Christ The King Lutheran Church and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the Seattle Swing Dance Club.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Kevann of California; granddaughter Danielle Lamkin of Everett; brother Ken Anderson of Enumclaw; and sister and brother-in-law Maren and Dale Bedal of Seattle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ron; parents Lloyd and Frances Anderson; and sister Yvonne Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 13th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Hewitt Ave. and SR 9. Visitations will be held on Thursday and Friday from 10:00am until 5:00pm at Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish. Private burial will be held at G.A.R. Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Lymphoma Research Foundation, 8800 Venice Blvd, #270, Los Angeles, CA 90034.

Myrtle Frances Kleid

After 96 years of a life lived with grace and dignity, Myrtle Frances Lembke Kleid passed away on December 3, 2003. She was born June 10, 1907 in Wilmington, California to a pioneering family in the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Kleid.

Myrtle was a long time resident of Bellingham where she raised her family and has resided the past 32 years in Snohomish with her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Scheldrup.

She is survived by her five children; Carolyn (Robert) Scheldrup, Kathleen (Howard) Strickland, Peter (Bonni) Kleid, Leatha (Steve) King and Kristen (Jerry) Smith; ten grandchildren, Mark (Melinda) Strickland, Diane Moore, Jon (Audrey) Scheldrup, Christopher Scheldrup, Danny and Janin Kleid, Scott King, Thale (Jeff) Steenhoven, Jamie (Erica) Rothenbuhler and Robert Smith. There are also six great and great great grandchildren.

Myrtle was a truly lovely lady, a caring mother, wife, friend and neighbor. All who knew her will miss her independent and generous spirit.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Patrick Timothy Reed

On December 7, 2003 the Seattle Mariners lost their biggest fan, Patrick Timothy Reed.

Patrick was born on March 28, 1956 in Lynwood, CA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Vicki; children, Joe (Samantha), Andy, Katie (Jacob) and Monica (Eric); granddaughter Valarie; his brothers, Dave, Mike, Jim, Tom, John and Will; brother-in-law Bob Temple; sister-in-law Jane Reed; and numerous extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Harriett Reed; brothers, Barney and George; and sisters, Linda and Kathleen.

He had a zest for life and true devotion to his faith. Patrick was active in his church community, loved watching his children and granddaughter grow up and was involved in all their activities. Patrick was a professional photographer and started his own business, Visual Images Professional Photography. He was a founding member of the SNAPL Youth Baseball League. He touched many lives with his jokes, wit, and his unconditional heart.

A Rosary is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 6:00pm with the Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, December 12th at 10:00am, both at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2619 Cedar Street, Everett. A reception will follow the Mass at the church with Interment following at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.

Ralph H. Kirk

Ralph H. Kirk passed away on November 28, 2003 in Everett, WA at the age of 70 years.

Ralph Kirk was born on November 14, 1933 in Everett, WA. He attended school in Lake Stevens and spent his career as a land surveyor. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed gardening and supplying neighbors with fresh vegetables. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Kirk is survived by his brother, James Kirk and his wife of Nine Mile Falls, WA; his nephews, Greg Kirk of North Bend, WA, and Ed Kirk of Houston, TX; and niece Susan Larson of Salem, OR.

At his request, there will be no services.

Robert C. Cope

Robert C. Cope, 84, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2003.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gertrude. He had five children, two daughters, Mary Alice Richmond (Jerry), and Edna Lee (Don); three sons, Lewis Cope, Gerald Cope (Gail), and William Cope (Angie); a nephew in Darrington, Roy Morgan (Diana); 17 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 13th from 10:0am until 5:00pm. There will be a Graveside Service on Monday, December 15th at 1:00pm at the Darrington Cemetery, with a reception following at the Darrington Community Center.

Ruth C. Morgan

Ruth C. Morgan passed away December 6, 2003 in Monroe with her family by her side.

She was born June 23, 1922 in Snohomish. Ruth worked at Everett General Hospital for 20 years, retiring and moving to a farm in Prosser, WA.

She is survived by her husband Edgar O. Morgan; sons, Larry Deane and wife Patty, and Scott Deane and fiance Joyce; daughters, Louise Brubaker and husband Steve, Sharon King and husband Ron, and Cathy Curtis and husband Greg; stepchildren, Joan Asmussen, and Gary Morgan and wife Lucy; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and brother Jack Vannoy and wife Dorothy.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 13th at 1:00pm at the home of Greg and Cathy's, 18317 Butler Road, Snohomish. Everyone is welcome. Private family graveside services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to Valley General Hospital Foundation.

We would like to thank the staff at Valley General Hospital for the care and comfort they gave her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sandra Holman

Sandra Holman, born May 16, 1946 in Brainerd, MN, died December 7, 2003 in Kirkland, WA.

Sandy is survived by her husband Bob Holman; son Jeff Creswell; daughter Sheri Seaward; sons, Dennis (Lena) Holman and Craig Holman and Colleen Holman; mother Mary Melnick; sister Brenda Simpson; brother Gary (Patti) Melnick; step sister Bonnie (Dick) Trissell; grandchildren, Cody Holman, Bobbi Seaward, Jennifer Creswell and Jessica Holman; numerous nieces and nephews; and lots of good friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Valley Catholic Church in Monroe, WA.

Memorials may be made to the Monroe Food Bank or a charity of your choice.

Blanche A. Brenne

Blanche A. Brenne, born April 15, 1915, passed away on December 30, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Brenne. She is survived by 4 children; Doris Cahuya of Darrington, WA, Kenneth Imus of Everett, WA, Carol Zahler of Mill Creek, WA and Thomas Dunning of Albany, OR, her sister, Elinor Owens of Vancouver, WA and her brother, Richard Lee of Hereford, TX. She was a grandmother of 14, and had many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, both Alderwood Chapter No. 185 and served as Past Matron of Monroe Chapter.

Services will be private for family only. Memorials can be made to Salvation Army Church. She will be interred at Cypress Lawn Mausoleum in Everett.

CDR. Charles A. Chadwick

Chuck Chadwick passed away peacefully December 31, 2003 with his family at his side.

Chuck was born in Burbank, CA on March 16, 1933. He moved with his family to Everett as a young child. Chuck married his high school sweetheart Mary Ann Flynn in 1957 after graduating form Everett High in 1951 and Seattle University in 1956.

In 1957 he was commissioned as a Naval officer. He earned his wings as a naval aviator and served aboard the USS Ranger aircraft carrier in Vietnam. He proudly served his country for 22 years retiring in 1979 to return to Everett with Mary and family.

In retirement Chuck and Mary enjoyed donating their time to various charitable organizations including the Providence Children's Association and the Snohomish County Juvenile Court.

In recent years his time was spent serving as chairman of his high school reunion committee. In this capacity he rekindled many old friendships. Chuck held his family close to his heart and enjoyed being with them.

Chuck was preceded in death by Mary in 1995.

Throughout his life, Chuck was rich in the things that mattered most- family, friends, and faith.

He is survived by his three children, Chuck, Jr. (Michelle), Meg (Jim) Burton, Colin (Danica); and five grandchildren, Brandon, Jenelle, Ann, Lauren, and Maryann.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the John E. Flynn Cancer Center Everett, WA.

Services will be held Tuesday January 6, 2004 at 2:00pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 2501 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Celebration of his life to follow.

David Howard Ray Jones

David Howard Ray Jones passed away near Darrington, WA at the age of 25 years.

He was born November 20, 1978 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the son of Samuel and Linda Hudson Jones. David was a lifetime resident of Darrington and worked as a mill worker. He enjoyed fishing, riding mountain bikes and quads, and he also enjoyed watching the weather channel on television.

David is survived by a brother Samuel and his wife Kristie Jones of Arlington; and four sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Oso, Ruth Anne and her husband Lewis Montieth of Darrington, Mary Jones and her companion Rod Westphal of Marysville, and Sarah and her husband Kevin Warren of Snohomish; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Linda Jones; and his grandparents Ray and Nancy Hudson and Ernest and Fern Jones.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 2:00pm at the Hamilton Cemetery with Pastor Les Hagen of the Glad Tiddings Assembly of God Church of Darrington officiating.

Ellery A. "Bing" Dearinger

Ellery A. "Bing" Dearinger, 73, of Everett, WA, died December 29, 2003.

At Bing's request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home and Crematory.

Elna H. Egan

Elna H. Egan was born Elna Harmon, one of six sisters in Prairie Farm, WI on April 1, 1908 and passed away in Everett, WA on December 27, 2003.

She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA and lived many years in Eastern Washington, Anacortes and Everett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Egan.

She is survived by daughters, Ann Lowry (Phil) of Fife, WA, and Jan Egan Sanders (David) of Lopez Island, WA; one sister Lila Adrian of Santa Barbara, CA; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the spring at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane, WA.

Erma P. Haebe

Erma P. Haebe, 93, was taken home to heaven on December 29, 2003. She was a former long time Snohomish & Bremerton resident and had lived in East Wenatchee for 4 years.

Survivors include, Jack and Laurel Haynes of East Wenatchee; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.

Esther F. Vice

Esther F. Vice, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Warm Beach Community, where she resided for the past four years.

Born June 1, 1909 in Garrett, IN to Coney and Maude Clark, Esther was next to the oldest of seven children. She attended school in Garrett, IN and graduated from Terre Haute Normal School with her teaching credential. She taught for several years in a one-room country school north of Garrett. Esther married Aaron Thomas Vice of Martin County, IN, in 1934. They were itinerant ministers, traveling across the United States to hold revival meetings in small communities. Esther played the piano and the ukulele and led song services. They settled in Sunnyside, WA in 1936. Her husband died in 1953. Esther was a devoted wife and mother, teaching her three children how to live and be strong in difficult times. In 1949 she attended Central Washington State University in Ellensburg, updating her teaching certificate. She taught in the Sunnyside Schools until 1969, when she moved to Edmonds to teach and be near her family. Upon her retirement from teaching, Esther kept active. She hiked, took German classes, learned to swim, and became a proficient ballroom dancer with the Fred Astaire Studio. In 2000, Esther moved to the Warm Beach Senior Community in Stanwood, where she made many friends. The staff and volunteers at Warm Beach made her last years happy ones. She appreciated the loving, competent care they gave to her daily. She was a long-time member of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Church and the Lynnwood Assembly of God, and was a member of the Sno-King Retired Teachers Association.

Esther is survived by her two daughters, Wilma and husband John Smith, and Cynthia (Cyd) and husband Chi-Dooh (Skip) Li; eight grandchildren, April MacDonald and Thomas Vice, Timothy and Antony Smith, Brian Huotari, Peter, Joseph and Kara Li. She also leaves 12 great grandchildren, Joshua, Tawnie and Allie Sailsbery, Jon MacDonald, Jacob, Joel and Tavia Vice, Charlotte and Christopher Smith, Chandler Huotari, Ella and Cleo Li. She is survived by one sister, Floride Jean Sonnenberg and numerous nieces and nephews in Washington, Texas, California, and Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Thomas; son Joel; and siblings, Wayne, Mary, Donald, Doris and Max.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at 1:00pm at the Beachwood Chapel at Warm Beach Senior Community in Stanwood, WA.

Those wishing to honor Esther's memory may contribute to the Warm Beach Senior Community, 20420 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292, or to a charity of Donor's choice.

Isaac James Hosheit-Collins

Isaac James Hosheit-Collins, 9, of Everett, died December 29, 2003 at Children's Hospital in Seattle. He was born on May 20, 1994 in Edmonds.

Isaac was in the 4th grade at Lowell Elementary in Everett. He was a member of the Cub Scouts-Pack 25; Compass and loved to swim and play video games. Isaac attended Cypress Baptist Church.

He is survived by parents, Ariana and Joseph Collins; sister, Lillian Collins; grandparents, Kelly and Irene Morse, Rodger and Helen Collins, Jim Hosheit, and Nancy More.

Viewing will be from 11:00am-12:30pm on Saturday, January 3, 2003 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Lynnwood.

The funeral service for family will follow at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 3rd at the funeral home. The memorial service will be planned at a later date.
