Elisse and Marisa Vandeventer
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these"
Elisse Noel Vandeventer, age 11, and her sister Marisa Lee Vandeventer, age 9, left our earthly home on Tuesday morning, November 25th, while flying with their mother and step-father for the holiday weekend.
They have gone to their Eternal Father and are in his arms. Elisse and Marisa were loved by all. Elisse, a gifted child, was loved and admired for her quiet presence and love of art and nature. Marisa, the extrovert, was loved for the exuberance she put into her life and everyone around her felt her zest for life.
Elisse was baptized December 1st, 2002 accepting Christ into her life to live for him. Marisa who recently asked Christ into her heart was planning her baptismal in the near future. They are now forever with him in a much happier place than the earth they have left.
They leave behind their father and step-mom, John and Shellee Vandeventer, sister, Kindra 11, and brother, Jakob 4, all of the family home. Those also left behind are their very special Grandpa and Grandma, Al and Dorthy Vandeventer, and Grandpa and Grandma Daryle and Carol Jacobsen. Elisse and Marisa shared part of their time with their mother and step-father, Sondra and Phil Brewer. Phil had three children, Matt 22, and twins, Chris and Katie age 17. They also leave behind their special Nanny and Papa, Bob and Dee Dee Ross as well their great-grandmother, "Bombie"
From both sides of Elisse and Marisa's blended family they leave many aunts, uncles and cousins that are very special. The girls had many special friends and teachers at Cathcart Elementary School as well as Clearview Montessori school, as well as, the people in their church and their neighborhoods.
We who knew them felt their love of life, friends and and their special love for "family time" and their love of God. All who have been touched by these childrens love have been truly blessed with their presence during their brief stay on this earth. It is not good-bye, for our family knows we will one day see you, Elisse and Marisa, in heaven. Until then, give Jesus a hug for us. We love you. To little brother Jakie you will always be his beloved "E and May". Special love and hugs from Daddy, Shellee, Kindra and Jakob.
Elisse and Marisa were extremely giving and caring children. The girls spent Thanksgiving Day, 2002, helping their parents, John and Shellee, and other church members serve Thanksgiving Dinner to families in need at their church. The girls became aware of a family in special need last Christmas. They generated a quest to help provide Christmas for this family. They undertook selecting a Christmas tree, purchasing Christmas gifts, school supplies and childrens clothing for this family (much money coming from their small savings). They always wanted to help others.
A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, December 4th at Calvery Chapel of Everett, 9428 4th Street S.E., Everett (Corner of Highway 9 and 4th Street S.E. in the Lake Stevens area). Please come and help us celebrate the lives of Elisse and Marisa.
