Anna Lace Craig

Anna went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2003 after a valiant battle with cancer. She passed away at home.

Born in New York City, Anna died in Arlington, WA. Her parents were Ewald and Bernice Laetzsch. Anna was a graduate of Lawton Medical and Dental School in Beverly Hills, CA, as well as a graduate of Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, WA. She owned and operated her own licensed adult family home in Marysville for 12 years. She will be missed by so many. She had write ups in the Marysville paper for her unique ways at the home, keeping her people interested in activities and world events.

Anna is survived by her beloved husband Jeffrey R. Craig, her one and only soul mate, of Arlington, WA; her brother Baron his wife Kathy and three nephews, Erich, Damon and Chris; daughters, Melody (Ron) Tousaint of Florida, and Lisa (Jim) Rogers and their children, Casey and Christian Rodgers of North Carolina; two sons, Charles Brady and wonderful daughter-in-law Paula of Burlington, WA, and Brian Curtis of California; daughters of her second marriage, Molly (John) Braun, and Karla (Doug) Woodside; son Jay (Mary) Craig; brother and sister-in-law Steve and Susan Craig; sister-in-law Mary Bredleau; numerous grandchildren; three great grandchildren; cousins, Elsie, Christel, Ruth and many other friends and relatives including the daughter of her heart, her very sweet Adele Walls; the sisters of her heart, Blanche, Joan, and Susie; and a group of very special sisters in Jesus Christ, the Thursday morning Bible study at the First Baptist Church, whom she loved very dearly and who had come to mean so much to her in her last months on earth; and many other faithful prayer warriors. Anna was a friend to all and will be dearly missed.

Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marysville with her favorite pastor Steve Hill. She loved the song "My Life is in you Lord". Her hobbies were gardening, reading and cooking. She loved animals and had two cats (Gee-Gee and Omar) and two dogs (Mr. French and Champion).

Anna's favorite Bible verses were: John 14:6, Acts 16:31, Mark 4:26 and 27, 1 Peter:5-6-7 and Proverbs 11:24, 25.

Memorial Services will be held at Marysville First Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 7th at 2:00pm. A family graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Marysville First Baptist Church (Special Needs) or The Everett Gospel Mission (Women's Refuge, 5112 S. 2nd Ave, Everett, WA 98203.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial park, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.

Cheryl Nelene Thomas

Cheryl Nelene Thomas, of Lynnwood, WA, passed away September 26, 2003.

She was 52. Born in Tacoma, WA, she graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1971.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 1/2 years, Daniel Owen Thomas; son Sgt. Benjamin Owen Thomas, USMC; daughters, Wendy N. Thomas-Kuppler and April V. Thomas of Lynnwood; brothers Michael Weber of Parkland and Duane Weber of Puyallup; sister Wendy Carrico of Puyallup; and granddaughter Ashleigh Rose Kuppler

She was preceded in death by her son Donny; mother Margie Weber; and father Ralph Weber.

The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 4:20pm at Maplewood Rock and Gem Club, 8802 - 196th St. Edmonds.

Donald Murray Orton

Donald Murray Orton, 82, of Marysville, WA passed away on October 1, 2003 at a local Hospital.

Murray was born November 2,1920 in Alberta, Canada. At the age of five the family moved to Oso, WA where he began his education in the Oso School District and completed it in the Arlington School District. Murray served with the Merchant Marines during World War II, reaching the rank of Chief Engineer. He worked in the marine and logging industries during his career and retired as a machinist at Summit Timber Company in 1986.

He was an avid outdoorsman and thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. He loved sharing his experiences with others and listening to their stories as well. He and his wife Jane Ann enjoyed many happy years after retirement pursuing the outdoors. Murray also enjoyed gardening and wood working. He prided himself in his vegetable garden and shared the harvest. He was in his shop daily and created many woodworking gifts for the family members. He will indeed be missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Jane Ann; son Charles Orton; daughter Corrine Parkhurst; step sons, Keith Dunlap, Bob Bernethy, Tom Bernethy; step daughters, Karen Kronholm and Janet Bernethy; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00am Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at the Marysville Cemetery.

Bertha Alette Lagerquist

Bertha was born on January 17, 1913 in Seattle WA. to parents, Nels & Severine Rockness. She died September 30, 2003 in Everett WA.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Lagerquist after celebrating 59 years of a loving marriage.

She leaves behind her daughter, Karen J. Carpenter; son, Edwin C. Lagerquist; daughter, Ann S. Lagerquist; daughter-in-law, Bertha Jane Lagerquist; grandchildren, Lisa (Bill) Lucas, Bill (Carey) Carpenter, John Carpenter, Katie (Chris) Wallace, Susan (Ted) Webb, Paul (Tamantha) Lagerquist; Great grandchildren, Megan, Amy, Janie, Bryan, Lucas, Weston and Georgia Carpenter, Carl and Owen Wallace, Adam and Jeremy Webb; many nieces, nephews, cousins; sister-in-law, Irene Day; and a host of friends.

Bertha was an avid reader and faithful correspondent with family and friends, particularly her Norwegian family and other European friends. While suffering from some physical problems, her mind remained sharp. She enjoyed sharing memories and discussing current local and world events, providing details that often amazed the listener, until her death. She was a challenging conversationalist and not ashamed to speak her mind. Best of all, her sense of humor was outstanding, even if she was the object of the joke. She will be missed by all, including her friends at Washington Oakes. Fortunately the wonderful memories she left with us can be savored for years to come. "She was the best".

Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 12, 11AM at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle. Memorial service will be held at 1PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Everett.

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Calvin Joyce Hoskins

Calvin Joyce Hoskins, born August 3, 1913 to Elton B. Hoskins and Clarice Mary Joyce at Rifle, CO, passed away at home near Cedarhome, October 6, 2003.

His wife, Florence Gardner, preceded him in 1993. He leaves son's Gerald (Arlene), Martin and daughter Mary Esther (Dave) Miller. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a sister Helen Slade of Newberg, Oregon.

Cal was a retired lumber mill worker and farmer. He raised beef and eggs for market.

He graduated from Whittier College, California.

He was a long time member of the Cedarhome Baptist Church.

Graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Thursday, October 9th at 2:00 PM.

Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood, WA.

Debroah Jill Day

Deborah Jill Day, 36, died suddenly at her home the evening of October 5th. Deborah was born in Everett, WA, March 9, 1967 and attended schools in the Everett district, graduating from Cascade High School in 1985. She attended Willamette University, transferred to the University of Washington and graduated in 1987 magna cum laude. She later earned a Masters degree with honors in librarianship at the University of Washington. She taught at Lockwood and Moorlands Elementary Schools in the Northshore School District and was most recently the school librarian at Moorlands.

Deborah was an excellent athlete, lettering in track and soccer at Cascade High School and in soccer at Willamette University. Hiking and gardening were favorite activities for the past several years. She was an avid reader and movie fan, carefully screening films she thought fit for her parents to see. She enjoyed teaching and especially the full range of grade levels she encountered in the library. she enjoyed visiting her five nieces and camping with them when they came to Everett. Deborah was very thoughtful and generous, always offering help if she sensed a need. She attended North Creek Presbyterian Church and was in the membership class there.

Deborah is survived by her loving family: parents Robert and Nancy Day, sister Diana and brother-in-law Robert Ivanjack, nieces Emily, Anna, Madeline, Mary Margaret, and Katherine Lvanjack, grandmothers Bonnie Crump of Wichita, KS and Ressie Day of Oakdale, CA, Uncle Philip Crump (Martha), Uncle Douglas Day, Aunts Jo Ann Day and Mary Lou Delvaney, and five cousins.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Everett, 1616 Pacific Ave, at 4:00PM, Thursday, October 9. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be send to North Creek Presbyterian Church of Mill Creek, WA, c/o Deborah Day Books for Children Memorial, 621 164th St SE, Mill Creek, WA, 98012.

Edna E. Yesland

Edna E. Yesland, 92, passed away on October 4, 2003. She was born to Eli and Mary Micheau on August 28, 1911 in Lewiston, MT. She graduated from Monroe High School and was a lifelong resident of the Monroe and Snohomish area.

Edna is survived by her daughter Helen Shelton; her sons Albert, Richard and Edward Nemitz, Christopher and Larry Yesland; a sister Mary Conrad; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwin Yesland; brothers Joseph, Richard, Paul, George and William Micheau; sisters Laura Manoske, Viola Wilson, Ella Micheau and Francis Helm.

Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on October 11th, 2003 at 10:00AM.

Ella L. Wagaman

Ella L. Wagaman, a native of Nevada, IA, passed away October 5, 2003 in Edmonds, WA.

She was 89. A resident of Mountlake Terrace, WA, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling, and most of all spending time with her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son John (Ronda) Wagaman of Seattle, WA; daughter Kathy (George) Hargus of Bothell, WA; sister Helen Ryan of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Robert McMahan, James McMahan, and Teri Tyo; great grandchildren, Steven McMahan, Jennifer McMahan, Christina McMahan, Jessica McMahan, Michael McMahan, Sara Tyo, Cody Tyo, and Kimberly Shield; and great great granddaughter Michaela.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey S. Wagaman in 1979; brother John Krajicek; and sister Phyllis Page.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 10:00am at St. Pius X Church, 22301 58th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace. Interment will be at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline.

Elsie H. Davison

Elsie H. Davison, born January 29, 1923 in Germany, passed away September 24, 2003 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA.

She is survived by her husband William T. Davison; son William T. Davis, II of Clinton, WA; daughter Nancy J. Gardner of Lakewood, WA; and six grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Florence Henry Memorial Chapel in the Highlands (enter off 3rd Ave. NW and NW 145th St.) on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood.

Francess Ann Larson

Francess Ann Larson, beloved wife of Verner C. Larson and dear friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5th, 2003 in Marysville, WA. Born June 8, 1949 in West Virginia, she blessed and touched all that knew her.

Graduating from Long Beach Polytechnie High School in Long Beach, CA in 1967, Frannie soon after moved to Seattle where she spent her career working as a Customer Service Professional in both the utilities and telecommunications industries.

Frannie was survived by her mother, Willadene Copeland of Long Beach, CA., and three brothers-in-law and wives, Gary B. and Marilyn Larson, Randall L. and Peggy Larson and Herb W. (Benjamin) Larson.

Memorial with family and friends will be held at the Vern's residence in Marysville, WA at 1pm on Saturday, October 11th.

James Wayne Camp

James Wayne Camp, 66, of Arlington, WA, passed away October 5, 2003.

He was born December 9, 1936 in North Dakota on Maddock Farm and had lived in Arlington for the past 42 years. He owned and operated James Camp Construction. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and boating. He served in the Army in Germany, 1956 and 1957.

Jim leaves his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Camp of Arlington; his children, Bruce (Lavaun) Camp of Arlington, Jodi (Erwin) Gemmer of Silverdale, WA, and Jennifer (Craig) Brown of Arlington; his brother, Donald Camp of Everett; sister, Gloria Baustad of Rugby, ND; and seven grandchildren, Bryce, Breanna, Brady, Derek, Colby, Carrera, and Makailee.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, October 10, 2003 at 1:00pm at Smokey Point Community Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00am until 8:00pm and Thursday from 9:00am until 5:00pm at Weller Funeral Home. Private interment will be at the Arlington Cemetery.

Jane (Olson) Walton

Jane (Olson) Walton, 66, of Lake Stevens, WA, passed away on October 4, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Seattle, WA.

She was born on November 27, 1936 in Everett, WA to Pat and Pauline (Luft) Olson. For 40 years she was a waitress and bartender and most recently she spent her time caring for Larry and her home. She loved to garden and is fondly remembered for always providing dishes for fundraisers and other occasions.

She is survived by her husband, Larry of Lake Stevens; son, Robert Wall of Olympia, WA; daughters, Judy Cable of Everett and Debbie Spencer of Tulalip, WA; favorite niece, Karen Carlisle of Pasco, WA; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence and Robert; and her sister Dorothy.

There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, October 9th, 2003 at 2:00pm at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at the Everett Elks. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her memory to Elks Children's Therapy or the charity of your choice.

Kenneth G. Caldwell

Kenneth G. Caldwell, 61, died in his home in Orlando, FL on September 26, 2003.

He was born on October 15, 1941 in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1959. He served in the US Army and earned his degrees from Central Washington University.

Ken was survived by his four children, Teddi Castle and Kenneth Guy Caldwell of Everson, Robert Todd Caldwell of Orlando, FL, and Jacque Caldwell of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; his sisters, Patricia Manning, Judy Anderson and Evelyn Stone of Seattle and his brother, Ronald Caldwell, of Oak Harbor.

Ken was an avid golfer and a member of the Men's Club at the Legion Memorial Golf Course for a number of years. When employed by Ostergaard-Robinson & Associates, Ken worked on the project to re-design the course.

Memorial services will be held on October 11, 2003 at 2:00pm at Greenacres/Moles Funeral Home, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA.

Memorials may be made to the Joe Richer Junior Golf Program, c/o Legion Memorial Golf Course, 144 West Marine Drive, Everett, WA 98201.

Marlin C. French

Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Marlin "Duke" French left his family on October 3, 2003 to be with our Lord.

Duke leaves behind his wife of 32 years Sharon French; his children Jeff (Clarissa) Snyder, Tina Sealey, Janette (Mike) Warner, Steven (Tracy) French, Yvonne Paschke, Jessica (Stacy) Ford and Chandra Jones; his grandchildren, Kari, Andrew, Joleen, Tyler, Savanna, Taryn, Tasha, Kylee, Alexzandra, Tiffany, Brittney, Michelle, Jennifer, Sonja, Joshua and Teresa; his sisters LaVonne Palmer and Carol Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Duke was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle "Miki" Jones; his mother Lois French; and his brother Russell Snyder.

Memorial services will be held at the Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 9509 19th Ave. S., Everett on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Marlin French Memorial fund at any Wells Fargo bank.

Duke was well known through out the community as a tow truck driver as well as an advocate for safety for over 30 years. He will be missed by many.

You are forever in our hearts. We love you very much.

Mary Lee Langan

Beloved mother and friend, Mary Lee Langan, passed away on October 5, 2003.

Mary Lee was born on Orcas Island August 14, 1938. She grew up in Michigan and later moved to Snohomish County. Mary Lee worked for Everett Mirror and Glass for several years and subsequently worked for Bud Barton Glass Co of Marysville.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Langan.

She is survived by her four children, Cameron and wife Christy Cook of Houston, TX, Carol Reed and fiancée Craig Handran of Marysville, Alan and wife Kathy Cook of Marysville, Pat and wife Amy Beth Cook of Lake Stevens; sister Carol Smith of Everett; mother Jane Becker of Everett; grandchildren Calie and Camie Reed, Sawyer Cook, Taylor and Lauren Cook, Bryn and Rick Holte, and Kaila Ann Ayers.

Mary Lee will always be remembered as a caring and wonderful mother. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She was a mother of unconditional love who lived her life in support of her children and grandchildren.

Private services for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 9th at 1:00pm under the direction of Solie Funeral Home in Everett. An Open House will follow at the residence of Pat and Amy Beth Cook in Lake Stevens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Everett Medic One Foundation, 2811 Oakes Avenue, Everett, WA 98201 or the American Diabetes Association.
