Mom, we say our good byes reluctantly. Your immense and deep love for the two of us and your grandchildren were priceless. We will never forget all of your warmth, laughter and hospitality (not to mention your cooking). Your deep appreciation of life and kindness towards all was infectious to everyone who knew you. Charles R. Hughley, 90 years old, passed away July 22, 2003, exactly three months after his wife, Louise J. Hughley, passed away on April 22, 2003.
He is survived by his four children, Joann M. Rowley, Amy L. Hughley, Cherie L. Hughley and Charles R. Hughley.
Most people referred to him as "The Captain" because he always wore a sailor hat, but his family will remember him as a devoted husband and loving father, who was loved by all. It saddens us that he is gone, but he is happy now because he is with our mother. It is hard to lose two parents in the same year, but knowing they are together has somehow lessened our pain. "We will miss you mom and dad and someday we will be with you over the rainbow, because there is no place like home."
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at Weller Funeral Home in Arlington at 2:00 p.m. There will be a Gathering (potluck) after the services and all family and friends are welcome.
