Jean Miles
Jean (Sanders) Miles passed away peacefully January 29, 2003 at her home in Snohomish.
Jean was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. Beloved wife of Keith "KC", her husband of 56 years, and mother to Greg (Eileen) of Sammamish, Dave (Joanie) of Bothell, Ken (Cyndy) of Kirkland, Debbie (Ed) Case of Lynnwood, and their nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen and Joyce.
Jean was born in Ogallala, NE in 1925 and graduated from South Denver High School in 1944. After high school, Jean went to work for Russell Stover's Candies in Denver, then as a partner opening their first store in Seattle in 1945. Meeting and marrying KC in 1946, work took them throughout much of the United States and Saudi Arabia before retiring to Whidbey Island. Despite her extensive travels, Jean remained an avid Mariner and Sonic fan.
Remembrances may be made to Evergreen Hospice.
There will be no services as she requested.
Jean was well loved and will be truly missed.
Jessie Ernestine Armstrong
Jessie Armstrong passed away on January 31, 2003, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Monroe, where she put up a courageous fight against cancer.
There will be a memorial service (potluck) to celebrate her life at the Wagner Community Club at 2 pm on Friday, February 7, 2003.
Joan L. Mikesell
Joan L. Mikesell, 62, of Everett, passed away January 25, 2003.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30, Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Solie Funeral Home Chapel.
Private interment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.
Marcel L. Madsen
Marcel L. Madsen, age 89 years, died peacefully at Merry Haven Health Care in Snohomish on January 30, 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Avenue, Everett.
Interment will be in Chebanse, IL at a later date.
Marie (Boober) Mather
Marie (Boober) Mather of Marysville passed away on January 20, 2003 following a brief illness.
She was born in Lincoln, ME on April 7, 1950 and had resided in Snohomish County most of her life.
She is survived by her sister, Anita Welch (Bill) of Everett, brother George Boober (Linda) of Leavenworth, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her cat Niki whom she especially loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Betty Boober.
At Marie's request she will be cremated and her ashes interred with her mother.
A graveside service for family will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Marie's memory to Hospice of Snohomish County.
Richard L. Miller
Richard L. Miller, born November 5, 1930, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2003 after a long battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Penny Miller; daughters, Rossie and Donna; son, Robin; sons-in-law, Kevin and Tom; daughter-in-law, Diann; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Richard was employed at the Lynnwood Police Department and the Bon Marche in Everett. He retired from the Salvation Army store in Marysville.
He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and traveling. Sports was his favorite past time hobby.
Graveside services will be held at Cypress Lawn Cemetery
Sunday, February 9, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.. Memory Lane friends and family welcome to attend.
Ricky Raymond Schuh
Ricky Raymond Shuh, 31, of Lynnwood, passed away February 2, 2003.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm Monday, February 10th at Floral Hills Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home.
Sally Jo Schmidt
Sally Schmidt was born on December 14, 1932 in Everett, WA, and passed away, Tuesday, February 4, 2003.
Her parents were Joseph Burrows and Elsie Winters Burrows. She lived her entire life in the Everett area, working for many years as a meat wrapper. She was a loving mother, and very generous and thoughtful person, always putting others before herself. She will be missed by all close to her.
She is survived by daughter Susan and husband Michael; grandchildren Stephanie and Andrew; daughter Toni and husband, Dan; granddaughter Jessica; and son Kurt and his wife Karen.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home. At her request, there will be no funeral services.
Sherrie Hansen
Sherrie Hansen, born February 20, 1957 in Fort Lee Virginia, died February 2, 2003 in Lynnwood, WA.
Sherrie was a loved wife, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly by all her life touched. She was a nurse and enjoyed playing the flute, playing games and her family.
Sherrie is survived by husband Bob; sons Benjamin and Levi; daughter Bridgette; father Doyle; mother Helen; and her brothers and sisters, Steve, Lori, Michael, and Mary. "We are sorry you are gone, you were always precious and will be missed."
Memorial Service, Friday February 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beck's Funeral Home, 405 - 5th Ave. S., Edmonds.
Shirley J. Johnson
Shirley J. Johnson, passed away at home in Granite Falls is the loving arms of her husband on February 2, 2003.
Shirley was born in Watertown, SD, June 14, 1926, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt,sister and friend.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, John G. Johnston of Granite Falls; children, Sue (Bill) Wasmund of Lake Stevens, Valerie (Sirio) Mascarenas of Arlington, John D. Johnston (Mikalyn) of Bothell, Scott (Kelly) Johnston of Novato, CA, April (Paul) Stephens of Mill Creek; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by, brothers-in-law, L.S. Prater of Lake Stevens, Harold (Lorraine) Johnston of Watertown SD, special niece Penny (Mike) DeLesle of FL. and a dear friend, Ronnie Meyer of Seattle.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, February 9th, 2003 at 2pm at St Phillips Episcopal Church, 4312 84th NE, Marysville.
Thomas E. Wise
Thomas E. Wise, 87, of Arlington, went home to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family on February 3, 2003.
Funeral Services will be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 10:00am.
A Time of Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Funeral Home from 3:00-8:00pm. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett.
Thomas I. Blevens
Thomas I. Blevens, 65, of Lynnwood, died January 31, 2003.
He was born May 3, 1937 in San Francisco, CA, the son of Israel and Mabel Blevens. Thomas served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Barbra Messenger in 1957. He worked for the Xerox Corporation for 27 years. Thomas loved fishing, woodworking, Marksmanship and most everything.
He is survived by his wife Barbra; two sons and one daughter, Stephan, Diana and Daniel; six grandchildren; his mother Mabel; two nephews and four nieces. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra and her husband Larry.
At his request, no services will be held.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Puget Sound Kidney Center, Everett, WA.

Arthur S. Williams
Arthur S. Williams, 79, of Anacortes, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Art was born December 20, 1923, in Marysville, WA, to Samuel A. and Ella L. (Warren) Williams. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 20, 1942 and served his country until January 3, 1946, as an Electrician's Mate on the minelayer U.S.S. Monadnock CM-9. Art and Esther L. Foster were married on September 25, 1948 in Mount Vernon, WA. From 1951 to 1960, he owned and operated Olympic Radio and TV in Arlington. In 1962 he joined the IBEW and worked as a sound technician foreman at the Seattle World's Fair. Later he was a marine wireman at Todd Shipyards in Seattle, and then worked on many large and small construction projects as a journeyman wireman and foreman in Northwest Washington and Alaska.
After retiring at age 64, Art continued to enjoy fishing, rock hounding and hunting with friends and family He and Esther traveled in their RV, researching family history all over the United States, and wintering in Arizona with friends. Art joined the United Methodist Church of Anacortes on March 29, 1998. He was a Trustee for six years and greatly respected for his many contributions to the construction and maintenance of the church.
Art is survived by Esther, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Ann and husband Jim Mercer; son, David and wife Susan Williams; daughter, Joyce and husband Jay McEwen; grandsons, Jon and Stephen Mercer and granddaughter Kari Williams; and sisters, Thelma Ohm, Irma Ellis and Donna Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Etta Jane Williams, Marie Frazier and Cora Kyle.
The Memorial service was Friday, March 28, 2003 in Anacortes with interment at Fernhill Cemetery
in Anacortes.
Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes.
Carl Thomas Bramblett
Carl Thomas Bramblett, 57, of Sultan, WA, died on March 29, 2003 at his home.
Born October 30, 1945 in Youngstown, OH, the son of J. Russell and Mardie Bramblett, he lived across America - in Ohio, New York State, Michigan, Maine, California, Oregon and Washington State. Carl honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War Era. He was baptized and a member of the Lutheran Church.
Carl's years were often lonely, but his heart and life were warmed by the special people in his community of Sultan and Gold Bar. His family is deeply grateful for all the kindnesses shown to Carl.
Carl was preceded in death by his brother, John Russell Bramblett; his mother; and his father.
He is survived by his sister, Kathi Bramblett Young; nieces Emma and Amanda (Meg) Hinds of Utah; sister-in-law Joyce Bramblett; and nieces Lori and Anne Bramblett.
Contributions to a favorite charity in Carl's memory can be made in lieu of traditional "flowers" or cards.
Carl's ashes will travel home to Florida to be buried with his parents at a later date.

Donald L. Shields
Donald Lewis "Boots" Shields, 92, of Marysville, WA, passed away March 31, 2003 at the family home in Marysville.
Don was born in Elk, WA on October 6, 1910. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed activities such as hunting. He was also a retired boilermaker from Local Union 104.
Beloved husband of 60 years, Don is survived by his wife, Olivia Shields; their children, Cookie Shields of Los Angeles, CA, Richard Shields and daughter-in-law Karen Shields of Everett; brother, Archie Lee Shields of Seattle; niece, Irene Cressell of Everett; grandchildren, Tennille Shields of Seattle, Tracey Goodson of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrea Rairdin of Everett; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Goodson of Los Angeles, CA.
A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Don will be sincerely missed by his family. Some people come into our lives and quickly go, some stay awhile, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same.
At his request, no services will be held.

D. Peter Smith
D. Peter Smith of Lynnwood WA, age 69, died of cardiac arrest on March 21, 2003.
He was born August 26, 1933 in LeSuer, MN. Pete graduated from LeSuer High School. He proudly worked for Boeing in aerospace for 33 years and retired in 1991. He belonged to the Rifleman Association and helped build the gun club by serving on the Marysville board. He was a longtime member of the Goldwing Motor Cycle Club Chapter X. He enjoyed hunting for 50 years in Eastern Washington and the Williby Hills. His favorite place was John's Auto Service 212th & 52nd Ave. W., Lynnwood, where Pete enjoyed seeing John and many dear friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Sheila (Hunter) and great grandson, Daniel Gillis at home; four sons, Kevin & Craig of Washington State, Bill (Amber) of Wisconsin, Rocky (Dina) of Minnesota; daughter, Tracy Young of Moses Lake, WA; step-daughters, Jean Harrington, of Spokane WA, Cathy Harrington of Edmonds, WA; brothers, Kenneth Jr. (Pearl), James (Dorothy), and Jack (Rosie) of LeSuer MN, and Tommy (Cindy) LeCenter MN; sisters, Judy (Andy) Puttin, Dorothy Ann (Mike) Barron, and Susan (Dan) Otting of LeSuer, MN; aunts, Gladys Huberty of Minnesota, and Lauralee Jurgens of California; grandchildren, Chuck & Kenny Smith of Wisconsin, Russell Smith, Jason (Lindsey) Young, Sara (Jeff) Holmes, Jeanna Cameron, Jennifer (Mathew) Dexter, all of Washington; six great grandchildren; and numerous cousins and beloved nephews and nieces in Minnesota.
Heartfelt thanks for all the support from Sara (Jeff) Holmes, Craig & Kevin Smith, Judy (Andy) Puttin, Jack (Rosie) Smith and all the families in Minnesota. Also thanks to my friends at Sno King Youth Club, 7th & Main, Edmonds.
