Luman D. Bergstrom
Omak
Luman D. Bergstrom, 85, of Omak, died Monday, April 24, 2006 at his home.
Luman grew up in Kelliher, Minn. and served in the Navy Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He then moved to Omak in 1948 and started working for Biles-Coleman/Georgia Pacific where he worked as a supervisor in the sawmill until he retired in 1981.
A memorial service of commemoration was held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Omak.
Allan W. Sealund
Longtime Omak and Oroville resident Allan W. Sealund, 78, died May 24, 2006, at Banner Gardens Hospice in Mesa, Ariz. He and his wife moved to Arizona in January for his health.
He was born June 12, 1927, in Sweden. At age 3, he moved to the United States with his parents. He lived in the Bellingham area as a child, then served in the Army for four and a half years.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two sons and a daughter in western Washington, and a brother, Hal, in Yuma, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and a sister.
There was no service; Mr. Sealund was cremated.
Maxine Gunn
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens, Okanogan, for Maxine Gunn, 74, who died March 5, 2006, at Valley Care Center, Okanogan.
She was born to Roy E. and Audrey D. Stout Dec. 5, 1931.
Survivors include her first husband, Joe Kobe; three daughters, Joleen Staats, Jackie Radcliff and Raeleen Rosie, all of the Seattle area; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, twin Myrle Woodward of Huntsville, Ark., Janet Groche of Saco, Mont., and Anita McClung of Elmer City; two brothers, Jerry Stout of Merrill, Ore., and Don Stout of Okanogan; an uncle, Paul Stout; three aunts, Daisy Peterson, Gertrude Williams and Charlotte Anderson, all of Okanogan County; cousins, nephews and nieces, and special friend Stanley Zimmerman.
Michael L. Schons
Michael L. Schons, 57, Omak, died at his home June 8, 2006.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Okanogan Valley Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Visitation will be that morning at 9 a.m.
Another memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Big Lake Community Church of the Nazarene, Mount Vernon.

Evelyn Michels Hylton
Omak
Evelyn Michels Hylton passed away June 7, 2006 at Mid-Valley Hospital at the age of 91. She was born April 23, 1915 to Charles and Mary Michels of Pine Creek.
A memorial service for Evelyn Hylton was held at the Apple Springs Assisted Living in Omak on Saturday, June 10 at 10 a.m. Visitation was held on Friday, June 9 at the chapel from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment was at the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to a charity of your choice.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Leroy Clausing
Clarkston, Wash.
A military memorial service for Leroy Nelson Clausing, 85, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5 at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse with Potlatch Post No. 10300 conducting the service.
Mr. Clausing died Friday afternoon, March 31, 2006, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston from an apparent heart attack. Cremation took place and his ashes will be buried at the Zillah, Wash. Cemetery at a later date.
Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse was in charge of the arrangements.
Patricia “Pat” (Pitts) Hess

On May 28, 2006 the Lord called our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted friend home. Pat was born on April 26, 1936 to Lloyd and Virginia Pitts in King Hill, Idaho. Pat graduated from Omak High School and met the love of her life, Fred Hess. They were married June 9, 1956.
A memorial service for Pat will be held at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, Riverside and Locust, Omak on Saturday, June 17 at 11 a.m.

Charles C. (Chas/Charlie) Flagg, 86, lifelong resident of the Methow Valley, passed away on June 18, 2006.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at the Winthrop Barn, Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. with potluck dinner to follow. You are invited to bring your stories and memories to share.
Memorials are suggested to the Spokane or Methow Valley Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and Research.
Dona Wilson
Former Okanogan-area resident Dona Wilson, 69, died June 21, 2006.
She was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., and was a former member of the Okanogan County Artists Association. She lived in the Okanogan area for 20 years.
She moved to western Washington in 2001 to be closer to family.

Elsie M. Libby, age 93, of Tonasket, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak. She was born March 8, 1913 in Greenville, Maine. Her parents were George W. and Julia Varnum of Maine.
Our family wants to thank Dr. Lamberton, Mariann Williams, ARNP; Dr. McCarthy and all the staff at the Tonasket hospital, the nursing home and Mid-Valley Hospital for all their special attention and great care our mother received there. She truly appreciated all of you and said so many times.
A special thanks to all our dear friends and family for all their love and support during this difficult time, we truly appreciate all the time and help you gave us, each and every one of you. The love shown will never be forgotten and our mother’s memory will always be with us all until we see her again in Jehovah’s promised Paradise.

Leonard J. Fuhrman passed away July 13, 2006 in Colville, Wash. at the age of 81. Leonard was born on August 6, 1924 in a home on Tunk Creek, in Okanogan County, Washington. He was the son of Leo and Olive (Arnold) Fuhrman.
Funeral services for Leonard Fuhrman will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Ag-Trade Center, 317 W. Astor, Colville, Wash. Graveside services with vault interment will follow at the Meyers Falls Cemetery, Colville, Wash. DANEKAS FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORY in charge of arrangements.

Clinton Ross Todd, born October 26, 1945, entered into rest July 6, 2006, surrounded by family and church members.
Services were held Saturday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Viewing was held July 14 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services were under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
Thelma May Lotze

Thelma May Lotze, 85, passed away July 6, 2006 in Moses Lake, Wash.
She was born June 9, 1921 at Carlton, Wash. to Monroe A. Park and Lela (McConnell) Park and grew up in the Methow Valley. She graduated from the Twisp High School. She worked at the variety store in Twisp for many years. She was a member of Methow Valley Eastern Star and Pricilla Club. Later, Thelma helped with the Omak Food Bank.
There will be no services, which was Thelma’s wish.
Claudia Maxine Irey Pino
Everett
Claudia Maxine Irey Pino died July 12, 2006, in Everett, at the grand age of 94. She enjoyed a gathering of her six surviving children and other family members on July 8.
Maxine was born May 4, 1912, in Melvern, Kansas, to Claude and Angie Irey, one of eight children. She graduated from Melvern High School in 1930, and then she became a "Harvey Girl" at the railroad station in Gallup, New Mexico. There she met Ernest Waldo Pino, and they were married October 12, 1931, at Roundhouse, N.M.
They moved to Omak with their first five children in 1943.
She will be buried at the Omak cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Raymond E. (Tiny) Harris, 68, Okanogan, died July 6, 2006.
A memorial service was July 15.
Emma Hope Pitts
Emma Hope Pitts, 93, longtime Okanogan Valley resident, died July 5, 2006.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Malott Grange.
Funeral services were July 13 at the Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan. Burial was in the Malott Cemetery.

William “Wid” Anthony, 71, died June 15, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Patricia Christianson
Patricia Adel Power Christianson, 70, Twisp, died July 31, 2006, at her home after a nearly two-year battle with cancer.
A memorial gathering and potluck will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Christianson ranch. Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair.
Memorials are suggested to the Methow Valley Community Center, Twisp Lutheran (Little Log) Church or the American Cancer Society.
Jon “Hoot” Beeman
In the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, Jon “Hoot” Beeman went to his heavenly home of endless snow, big timber, mountains and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Hoot’s life celebration will begin at 11 a.m. at the Loomis Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 and will conclude with a slideshow and dinner at the Tonasket Eagles immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family has established an education fund for Hannah at the Tonasket branch of Wells Fargo Bank.

Max Fee
Max Fee entered the Pioneer Manor nursing home in Gillette, Wyo. in March 2006 and died on July 29, 2006. Max is survived by his children, Colleen Heinrich Lunstrum, Jeff Fee, and Matt Fee; and grandchildren, Olivia Fee, Dustin Fee, Billy Fee, Shane Fee, Dana Kobe and Mark Heinrich. As requested by Dad, we will hold a family memorial service on the shores of Payette Lake for our Father and Mother.

“Joey” McDonald passed away on July 13, 2006 at his home at Homestead Trailer Court in Omak, Wash.
A wake was held on July 16, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Omak Longhouse. Funeral services were held on July 17, 2006 at 8 a.m. at the Omak Longhouse with burial at the Chief Joseph Cemetery in Nespelem. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
