August “Gus” H. Snyder, 91, an 84-year resident of Okanogan County, died Jan. 22, 2005, at Tonasket.
He was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Black Diamond.
Funeral services were Jan. 27 at the Tonasket Free Methodist Church, with interment at the Wauconda Pioneer Cemetery.
Bergh Funeral Service of Oroville and Tonasket was in charge of arrangements.

Kathryne A. Dennis
Grand Coulee
Kathryne A. Dennis, 96, of Grand Coulee died at Coulee Community Hospital on Wednesday Feb. 23, 2005.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Coulee on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 2PM. Strate Funeral Home, Grand Coulee is in charge of arrangements.

Theophile Bill Charley
Malott
Theophile Bill Charley, 94, of Malott, WA, passed away on Feb. 21, 2005, at Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak. He was born on April 4, 1910 in the Chiliwist to Marshall and Margaret Charley.
A funeral service for Theophile Bill Charley was held at the St. Mary’s Mission Long House on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.

Stanley Eugene Garrett
Omak
Stanley Eugene Garrett, Omak, passed away at age 81 on February 16, 2005. He was born on May 6, 1923 to Paul and Ruth Garrett in Wenatchee, WA.
As per his request there will be no services.

Mary Jane Hopkins
Omak
Mary Jane Hopkins, 75, lifelong resident of Omak, WA, passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2005.
Graveside services were held for Mary Jane Hopkins at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at the Omak Memorial Cemetery.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Lenore L. Hunt
Port Townsend
Lenore Leegard Hunt, 92, died Feb. 12, 2005 in Port Townsend, Wash.
The family suggests that any memorials be sent to a local pet shelter.

V. Mae Bussler
V. Mae Bussler, 85, Omak, died Feb. 25, 2005, at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak.
Private family graveside services will be held.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Bolin Selde
Margaret Carol Bolin Selde died Feb. 26, 2005, in Omak.
She was born Dec. 17, 1915, in Twisp, and lived 89 years in Okanogan County.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Gene Hernandez
Omak
Gene Hernandez, 71, of Omak died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 after her battle with emphysema.
She was born June 1, 1933 to George and Myrtle Schenk in Menominee, MN. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School Academy, Milwaukee, WI. She received a 4-year music scholarship, yet chose to marry and start a family.
Services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, Okanogan with internment following.
Memorials are suggested to Howling Ridge, Tonasket, WA.

Del W. Reil
Okanogan
Delbert Wayne Reil passed away at his home in Okanogan on March 6, 2005.
Del was born in Seattle, WA on November 11, 1948.
Del and Lori moved to Okanogan from Kirkland in 1998 to enjoy their “Golden Years”.

Peter T. Harris
Peter T. Harris, 80, a native of Okanogan, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1924, to Dorothea and Philip (P.T.) Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Lou, at home; two sons, David Harris of Winthrop and Chris Harris of Seattle; two daughters, Karen Harris of Maisons Alfort, France, and Margaret Chesler of San Francisco, Calif., and five grandchildren, Brielle and Arin Harris, Lenny and Tim Barouk, and Alexis Chesler.
A memorial service was March 14 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Omak.

Lucile C. Thurlow
Twisp
Lucile C. Thurlow was born November 5, 1904, to Archie and Ethel Norris of Bellingham, WA and passed away on March 17, 2005, at her home in Twisp, WA. She accomplished many things during her life.
Graveside services were held at the Beaver Creek Cemetery on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 4 p.m. with pastor Steve Schroeder officiating. A potluck supper will follow after the services at the Senior Citizen’s Center.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

John Patrick Morris
Peshastin
John Patrick Morris, 54, a resident of Peshastin and a former resident of Sunnyside, died late Monday evening, March 21, 2005, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
A memorial service of commemoration to celebrate the life of John Patrick Morris was held Friday, March 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Peshastin United Church of Christ with the Rev. Kel Groseclose officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, Northwest Affiliate, 710 2nd Ave., Suite 900, Seattle, Washington 98104, or the charity of one’s choice.
Ward’s Funeral Chapel of Leavenworth is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard F. Adams
Conconully
Richard F. Adams, 74, of Conconully passed away March 5, 2005.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Conconully Community United Methodist Church.
A memorial fund has been set up at the United Methodist Church in Conconully, P.O. Box 12, Conconully, WA 98819.

Mable Irene (Canterbury) Nordin
Mable Irene (Canterbury) Nordin, 79, passed away on March 23, 2005, at the Hansen House where she has been living for almost two years. She was born July 19, 1925, in Tonasket, WA to Art and Minnie (Cumbo) Canterbury.
Services of commemoration will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, at Betts Memorial Chapel. Committal services will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Arrangements are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.

Kenneth Lee Martin

Kenneth Lee Martin was born in Kansas City, MS, May 14, 1934, died March 22, 2005.
Funeral services were held at Precht’s Methow Valley Chapel on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
A visitation was scheduled from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to services beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28.
Precht’s Methow Valley Chapel is in charge arrangements.

Enid Lewis Frink
Camas
Enid Frink, of Camas, passed away Monday, March 21, 2005, in Vancouver. She was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Pateros, WA to George and Lotta Ives where she grew up. She married Henry Lewis and they moved to Omak, Wash. where she was a homemaker raising her family. Henry passed away in 1974 and Enid would later marry James Frink in 1982. James passed away in 1984 and Enid moved to Camas in 1993.
A memorial service was Thursday, March 24 at 1 p.m. at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the Ray Hickey Hospice House at 2112 E. THE DALLES, Ore. — Former Okanogan Valley resident Lela Dooley, 73, The Dalles, Ore., died at a care facility April 30, 2005.
Graveside services were May 5 at the IOOF Cemetery in The Dalles.

Alice Irene Burbank

Alice Irene Burbank, of Republic, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 15, 2005.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 20, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Republic Cemetery. Pastor Robert Campbell officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice.

Helen Louise Carlson
Helen Louise Carlson, a lifetime resident of Washington, died on Saturday, December 4, 2004, in Kennewick, WA. She was born July 8, 1929 in Seattle, WA to Bill and Alice Kelley.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held at the Okanogan Senior Center on Saturday, May 28, 2005 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The honor of your presence would be greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to your favorite charity in Helen's name would be a cherished gift.

Glynn Robbins
Omak
Glynn Robbins, 86, of Omak, WA, passed away on May 9, 2005. Glynn was born January 8, 1919 in Thompson, AR to William Lee and Gertrude Ann (Thomas) Robbins.
A graveside service was held for Glynn Robbins on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on the Conconully Highway. Following the service there was a dinner at the Omak Senior Citizens Center.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice or any children’s charity. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Edward McCraigie
Omak
Edward McCraigie was born November 23, 1916 to Angelic Sorimpt and Pierce McCraigie at Disautel, WA, where he joined his older brother, Gabrielle Louie.
He died May 4, 2005 at his daughter’s home in Nespelem where he had been residing for the past five years.
Rosary services were Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Omak Longhouse starting at 7 p.m. with Indian Shaker prayers following, then prayers by the Seven Drum Religion. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Omak Longhouse starting at 10 a.m. with burial at St. Mary’s Mission Cemetery. A dinner was served at the Omak Longhouse following the burial services.

George L. Wilson
Brewster
George Logan Wilson of Brewster, Washington, died May 8, 2005, at Okanogan-Douglas District Hospital. Born May 7, 1909, to John Morgan Wilson and Mary Newton Wilson, George spent his early years at the family ranch in Indian Dan Canyon.
A memorial service for George will be held at Barnes Chapel in Brewster on Friday, May 20, 2005, at 11 a.m. Afterward, George’s friends and well-wishers are invited to gather at the Brewster Grange Hall to celebrate his 96 years as a “stand-up guy.”
Those who would like to support the continuation of George’s highway planting project may send donations to George’s Flower Fund, Sterling Savings Bank, PO Box 67, Brewster, WA 98812.

Harold R. Beeman
Soap Lake
Long-time Soap Lake resident, Harold R. Beeman, passed away on May 8, 2005. Harold Ralph Beeman was born in Okanogan County on Carter Mountain on August 13, 1923.
There was a memorial celebration on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Ephrata Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Basin Home Health and Hospice in Moses Lake or Children’s Hospital in Seattle. A second memorial celebration will be held in Riverside, WA, at Mt. Olive Grange Hall on May 22, 2005 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

W. Bruce Wilson
Okanogan
W. Bruce Wilson, 81, passed away June 23, 2005 at Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak, WA. He was born October 7, 1923 to Bev and Rosa LeRay Wilson.
A graveside services were held at the Okanogan City Cemetery on Monday, June 27 at 11 a.m. Officiated by Tilford Hansen.
Memorials can be given to the Northwest Children’s Home at Box 288, Lewiston, ID 83501 or a charity of your choice.

Thomas George
Pakootas
Thomas George Pakootas, 24, Nespelem, died June 26, 2005.
A family rosary was June 30 at the Nespelem Catholic Longhouse and a public rosary July 1 with funeral Mass at the Nespelem Community Center July 2. Interment was in the Little Nespelem Cemetery.
Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, was in charge of arrangements.

Anthony ‘Stoney’
Zacherle Covington
Anthony “Stoney” Zacherle Covington, 16, Nespelem, died June 25, 2005, as the result of a bull riding accident at the Newport Rodeo.
Rosary services were June 30 at the Nespelem Community Center and funeral service was July 1 at the Nespelem Community Center. The Rev. Bob Jones and Al Parsons, state chaplain for Washington State High School Rodeo Association, officiated.
Burial followed at the Nespelem Catholic Cemetery.
