Charles Roberts
Charles Edward Roberts, 48, died July 18, 2002 in Spokane after a long battle with a heart condition.
He had lived in Okanogan with his wife and youngest son for the past 10 years.
Funeral services were July 24 at the Tulalip Tribal Center with burial at Mission Beach Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
Larry D. Adams
Larry D. Adams, 55, a lifetime resident of Omak, died July 18, 2002 at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak.
He was born March 8, 1947, to Lilburn and Imogene Adams in Omak and attended school in Omak. He worked in construction, the logging industry and carpentry.
Memorial services will be announced later.

Elmer E. Cox
NESPELEM - Elmer E. Cox, 49, Nespelem, died Nov. 25, 2002 at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 15, 1953, at Coulee Dam to Ira and Bertha (Mustard) Cox, and graduated from Coulee Dam High School in 1971.
Services are pending.

Henry Bruce Wallace
MALVERN, Ark. - Henry Bruce Wallace, 64, Malvern, Ark., died Nov. 12, 2002 at his home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Ivy Community, Carthage, Ark., to the late Elvin Asberry Wallace and the late Betty Maude Orr Wallace. In the late 1950s he attended school in Okanogan, and returned to Arkansas after his marriage to Leta.
Funeral services were Nov. 15 at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Terry officiating. Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Ivy Community.
Arrangements were by Atkinson Funeral Home, Malvern, Ark.
Arthur Christensen
Arthur Robert (Bob) Christensen, Omak, died Nov. 30, 2002.
He was born Dec. 9, 1916, in Loomis to Lawrence and Christine Christensen and spent his entire life in the Okanogan Valley. He lived in the Loomis and Pine Creek areas while his father logged with horses and his mother taught school.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one step-brother.
Memorials are suggested to any charity.
Dellis W. Smith
Dellis W. Smith, 89, Omak, died Nov. 23, 2002.
She was born in Wildwood March 27, 1913, to Walton and Margaret Foster. In 1937 she married Judd Smith in Kalber. They lived in Chewelah, Riverside, Ryderwood and Omak.
Graveside services were Nov. 29 at the Tunk Valley Cemetery.

Orville Lee Cress
Orville Lee Cress, 84, Omak, died Nov. 29, 2002 in Omak.
He was born July 30, 1918, in Dalzell, S.D., to William and Etta (Snyder) Cress and moved to the Omak area in 1943. He worked for Columbia Concrete, retiring in 1980.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, with interment following in the Omak Memorial Cemetery.

Clara E. Bigelow
Clara E. Bigelow died Nov. 29, 2002 at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak.
She was born March 6, 1906, to David and Edith Hayes, Waterville, and married Frank Earl Bigelow there Jan. 9, 1928.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, with the Rev. Bob Baggett officiating.

Joy Horne-Vasquez
Joy Horne-Vasquez, 40, died Nov. 13, 2002 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born March 19, 1962, in Ogden, Utah, and grew up in Humboldt County, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Services were Nov. 20 at the New Life Center, Okanogan.
Frederick Richardson
SHADY GROVE, Ore. — Former Tonasket resident Frederick Johnston Richardson, 77, died Jan. 24, 2003.
He was born in Port Angeles June 14, 1925, and graduated from Quilcene High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Memorial services were Jan. 27 at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore.
Glenn Tracy
OROVILLE — Glenn Tracy, 81, Oroville, died Jan. 26, 2003.
He was born in Canyon City, Ore., in 1919. He spent most of his boyhood in the John Day Valley and attended high school there at Grant Union High.
At his request there will be no services.

Doris Nelson
Doris Beaver Haney Nelson, 79, a lifelong resident of Omak, died Feb. 1, 2003 at Valley Care Center, Okanogan.
She was born June 14, 1923, in a cabin on Omak Creek and graduated from school in Omak. She was a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at St. Mary's Mission Cemetery.
William Cromwell
William Nelson Cromwell, 78, died March 23, 2003 at Apple Springs Assisted Living, Omak.
He was born July 3, 1924, at Chilliwack, B.C., to William and Bertha Cromwell.
Funeral services were March 27 at Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan.
Stephanie Braunschweig
Stephanie Sue Schertenleib Braunschweig, 35, died March 19, 2003 in California following complications from surgery.
She was born to Marvin and Karin Schertenleib at Tonasket, and was an only child. She started second grade at North Omak Elementary School.
Family services were April 1 at the Wauconda Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Pacific Northwest Bank for her children's college fund. Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville, was in charge of arrangements.
Earl F. Moore
Earl F. Moore, 95, died March 27, 2003 at North Valley Nursing Home, Tonasket.
He was born at Pine Creek May 20, 1907, to Stokley and Laura (Oakes) Moore, and was their last living child.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens, Okanogan. Participants are asked to meet at the Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, at 1 p.m. for a procession to the cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Animal Foster Care.
Meril Walls
Meril Walls, 80, a longtime resident of Omak, died suddenly March 28, 2003 in Apache Junction, Ariz.
He was born Nov. 24, 1922, to Obijah and Ada Walls, and lived in Washington most of his life except for a few years in Lewiston, Idaho. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II.
A memorial service will be held later.
Don Bruemmer
Don Bruemmer, 74, Okanogan, died suddenly May 18, 2003.
He was born Aug. 13, 1928, to Henry and Gladys Bruemmer in Auburn.
Graveside services were May 23 at the Conconully Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Warren officiating. Memorials are suggested to Animal Foster Care.

Mary L. Romine Kohls
Mary L. Romine Kohls, 75, Kaneohe, Hawaii, died May 19, 2003.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, Omak. Burial will follow in the Omak Memorial Cemetery.
Donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
John H. Adolph Jr.
John H. “Jack” Adolph Jr., 63, died at his home in Nespelem on June 17, 2003.
He was born at Kelly Hill in the Kettle Falls area on Aug. 5, 1939, to John H. and Mary (Stone) Adolph. He worked as a building inspector for the Colville Tribe for 12 years.
Rosary was recited on June 19 at the Catholic Longhouse in Nespelem with Mass of Christian Burial June 20 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was in the Chief Joseph Cemetery.

Roberta Macree
Pride-Olsness
Roberta Macree Pride-Olsness, 43, died unexpectedly June 5, 2003 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane.
She was born Aug. 30, 1959, in Springfield, Mo., and grew up in the Omak and Okanogan area and graduated from Omak High School in 1977.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane.
Casey Lewis Adrian
Casey Lewis Adrian, 17, of Keller died at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane as a result of a car accident June 20, 2003.
He was born to Stacy Adrian on May 1, 1986, in Tacoma and would have been a senior at Lake Roosevelt High School this fall.
He was an all-around athlete who enjoyed all sporting events, camping, water sports, war dancing
Wake services were held June 24 at the Nespelem Community Center, and Mass of Christian Burial will be there today, June 25, at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at the Nespelem Catholic Cemetery.

Daniel H. Dow
EDMONDS - Daniel H. Dow, a 42-year resident of Mountlake Terrace, died June 17, 2003 after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer.
He was born in 1932 in Michigan to the late Margaret and Wayne Dow. The family moved to the Methow Valley in 1945 and then to Conconully in 1949.
Rosary was said June 23 followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mountlake Terrace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were by Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds.
Ruth Senna Ballard
Ruth Senna Ballard, 88, of Brewster died surrounded by her family at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee on June 19, 2003.
She was born May 5, 1915, in Withee, Wisc., to George and Caroline Andersen. She spent her childhood in Port Angeles, where she attended school, graduating from high school in 1934. She met and later married Glen E. Ballard in Port Angeles on Sept. 14, 1935.
At her request there were no services. Jones & Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee, were in charge of arrangements.
