Bertha Alice Heneghen, 90, of Yakima died Monday at home. Mrs. Heneghen was born in Walla Walla. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Rish of Kennewick and Tom Heneghen of Moxee; and three daughters, Beverly Rish and Tami Heneghen of Yakima and Star Heger of Ellensburg.

At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Marian M. Stilwell
Announcement dated July 22, 2010
Marian Marjory Stilwell, 99, of Beaverton, Ore., formerly of Zillah, died Tuesday. Mrs. Stilwell was born in Valley City, N.D. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Stilwell of Granger; a daughter, Sharon Coan of Beaverton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Zillah City Cemetery.

Paula A. Williams

Paula A. (Bonjorni) Williams, 42, of Seattle died Tuesday at Swedish Hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born in Ellensburg and moved to Goldendale as a child. After high school, she moved to New York and worked as a nanny while she attended the police academy. She then worked in law enforcement in New York. She returned to Ellensburg temporarily in 1991 and then moved to Seattle.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Williams of Seattle; her mother, Dorothy Bonjorni of Ellensburg; a brother, Lon Bonjorni of Tacoma; and two sisters, Eillean Littleton of Ellensburg and Roberta Hubbard of Goldendale.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Affordable Funeral Care, Ellensburg. Graveside service and burial will follow at 2 p.m. Monday in the High Valley Cemetery.

Remigio Valdez Jr.
Announcement dated July 22, 2010
Remigio Valdez Jr., 40, of Toppenish died Monday as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Mr. Valdez was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Survivors include two brothers, Martin and Guadalupe Valdez; and five sisters, Adalia Ramirez, Elda Cantu, Oralia Arizpe, Maria Valdez and Reyes Flores.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Colonial Funeral Home.

Reyes Valdez

Reyes Valdez, 62, of Toppenish died Monday as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Samuel J. Clash
Announcement dated July 23, 2010
Samuel J. Clash, 80, of Sunnyside died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

Mr. Clash was born in Cambridge, Md., and served in the Army during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He retired from the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

Survivors include a son, Philip Clash of Mabton; a daughter, Vivian Clash of Sunnyside; three brothers, George Clash, Harry Clash and Ferdinand Clash; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Larry D. McGuffey

Larry Douglas McGuffey, 67, of Yakima died July 16 in the Vancouver/Longview area.

Mr. McGuffey was born Taylor Township, Mich. He was a man of many occupations.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Leon, Regina Gutierrez and Tanya Duran, all of Vancouver, Wash.; four sons, Rodney McGuffey and Johnny Boise of Vancouver, Carry McGuffey of Salem, Ore., and Christopher McGuffey of Yakima; two brothers, James McGuffey of Yakima and Raymond McGuffey of Elk Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Rosauer of Spokane and Linda Sellers of Yakima; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. July 31 at Wesleyan Church in Vancouver, Wash. A potluck will be held after the service. Arrangements are by Funeral and Cremation Care of Kennewick.

Charles R. Caldwell

Charles Richard Caldwell, 89, of Yakima died Thursday.

Mr. Caldwell was born in El Dorado, Kan., and served in the armed forces. He worked in maintenance in fruit warehouses and in the agricultural industry.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Caldwell of Yakima; a son, Ron Caldwell of Selah; a daughter, Donna Carlen of Fox Island, Wash.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.

Bob Albertson
Announcement dated July 24, 2010
Bob Albertson, 87, of Naches died Thursday at home. Mr. Albertson was born in Seattle.

Survivors include a nephew, Harold Tuffs of Seattle; five nieces and a personal friend and caregiver, Delma Deason-Egger of Naches.

A graveside service will be at noon Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 6701 30th Ave. SW, Seattle. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

George W. Gray
Announcement dated July 24, 2010
George Washington Gray, 83, of Yakima died Thursday. Mr. Gray was born in Summit, Ark., and served in the Army. He moved to Yakima in 1948. He became a member of the Carpenters Union and worked many years in the community building industry in Yakima, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Walkup of Yakima; a son, Ken Gray of Yakima; two brothers, Carl Gray of Festus, Mo., and Jim Gray of Summit, Ark.; a sister, Sarah Guthrie of Yakima; and three grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Thelma L. Goodwin

Thelma Lucille Goodwin, 87, of Burien, Wash., died Thursday.

Mrs. Goodwin was born in Ridgeway, Mo., and moved to Mabton in 1940. She was operations officer for First Interstate Bank of Mabton for 21 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Gimlin of Camarillo, Calif.; a son, Gary Wayne Goodwin of Renton, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Inurnment will be at Mabton Cemetery at a later date.

Gary G. Brenner

Gary Gregory Brenner, 57, of Prosser died Friday at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.

Mr. Brenner was born in Colfax, Wash., and raised in Genesee, Idaho, and Pomeroy, Wash. He served two years in the Army, stationed in Germany. He also lived in Kennewick and Prosser, where he worked as a mechanic and a code enforcement officer for Benton County.

Survivors include four sisters, Donna Flynn of Pomeroy, Linda Kimble of Redmond, Wash., Mary Jo Sarri of Kennewick and Dorothy Lou Barton of Spokane; and two brothers, Albert Brenner of Renton, Wash., and Wally Brenner of Pomeroy.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Prosser Funeral Home.

Aaron R. Macias
Announcement dated July 25, 2010
Aaron R. Macias, 75, of Yakima died Friday.

Mr. Macias was born in Center, Colo., and worked as a preacher and a transportation company fuel tender.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Macias of Yakima; four sons, Ron Macias of Portland, Amos Macias and Ruben Macias, both of Yakima, and Richard Macias of Dutch Harbor, Alaska; two daughters, Roberta Rangel of Odessa, Texas, and Rachel Gutierrez of Albuquerque, N.M.; his mother, Sela Macias of Albuquerque; three brothers, Jesse Macias of Albuquerque, Nestor Macias of Las Vegas and Nelson Macias of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Keith and Keith Funeral Home Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Solid Rock Family Worship Center, with burial to follow in West Hills Memorial Park.

Jerry L. McCombs

Jerry L. McCombs, 68, of Prosser died July 16 at his home.

Mr. McCombs was born in Licking, Mo., and raised in Grandview. He lived most of his life in the Grandview and Prosser area, working for the Libby plant in Grandview and an experiment station in Othello. He also worked as a truck driver.

Survivors include two sons, Terry McCombs of Prosser and Tim McCombs of Prosser; a daughter, Lynette Early of Everett, Wash.; three brothers, Randy McCombs and Leon McCombs, both of Prosser, and Bill McCombs of Othello; three sisters, Sharron King of Yakima, Jeanne Rushton of Dayton, Wash., and Meryl Owen of Prosser; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Prosser. Prosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Allen C. Lawson

Allen Charlton Lawson, 84, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, died July 17 in Kailua, Hawaii.

Mr. Lawson was born in Port Townsend, Wash. He was a former Yakima resident and was a self-employed general contractor in Portland. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Elizabeth Lawson of Kaneohe, Hawaii; a son, Jeffrey Allen Lawson of Portland; a daughter, Carolyn Louise McNabb of Oregon City, Ore.; three brothers, Robert Lawson of Wenatchee, Dale Lawson of Belfair, Wash., and David Lawson of Oregon City; a sister, Barbara Covell of Yakima; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes in Happy Valley, Ore.

Lavone Swanson

Lavone "Swede" Swanson, 76, of Yakima died at home Sunday.

Mr. Swanson was born in Revillo, S.D. He served three years in the Navy. He was a firefighter for the city of Yakima.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Swanson of Yakima; three children, Randy Swanson of Port Orchard, Wash., and Debbie Shelton and Michelle Ostler, both of Yakima; five grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Private services are being planned. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Vicki L. Kroger
Announcement dated July 27, 2010
Vicki Lynn Kroger, 57, of Yakima died Friday at Harmony House in Yakima.

Mrs. Kroger was born in Bremerton, Wash. She worked for Allan Brothers for 20 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheala Johnson of Selah; four siblings, Wayne, John, Denise and Jeanne; and two grandchildren.

Private burial will take place at the Naches Cemetery. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.

Francis J. Carder-Eby

Francis Joan Carder-Eby, 71, of Selah died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Carder-Eby was born in Tonapah, Nev. She worked as a sorter in fruit warehouses.

Survivors include two sons, Shawn Eby of Selah and Delbert Eby Jr. of Salem, Ore.; a daughter, Trina M. Schauer of Union Gap; a brother, Bert Carder of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

At Mrs. Carder-Eby's request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.

Robert William Reidt
Announcement dated July 27, 2010
Robert "Rob" William Reidt, 78, of Yakima died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Reidt was born in White Bluffs, Wash. He retired after 24 years from Yakima County Public Works in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Reidt; a daughter, Phyllis Thisius; a son, Peter Thomas; three sisters, Lucille Lockard, Earline Whitson and Leona Holladay; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel with burial to follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
