Armida V. Hicks, 95, of Yakima died Monday at Crescent Health Care.
Mrs. Hicks was born in Key West, Minn. She worked for many years at the Chinook Hotel and then became banquet manager of the Black Forrest Inn.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Henne and Rochelle Sotelo of Yakima and Joyce Johnson of Snohomish, Wash.; a son, Robert Guerin of Lacey, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home. Concluding services will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Richard C. Meader

Richard C. Meader, 64, of Yakima died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Meader was born in Fargo, N.D. He worked as a journeyman painter.
Survivors include a son, Scott Jefferson of Seattle; a daughter, Carrie Shannon of Yakima; his companion, Patti Hipp of Yakima; his mother, Jeri Meader of Yakima; a sister, Carol Armstead of Yakima; and two brothers, Frank Meader of Yakima and Fritz Meader of Spokane.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Little Dutch Inn, 214 N. Sixth Ave. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.
LeRoy Dunbar

LeRoy "Bud" Dunbar, 78, of Selah died Monday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dunbar was born in International Falls, Minn., and moved to Yakima when he was 5 years old. He served in the Air Force.
After the service, he worked for Boeing and Lockheed in the defense industry and also for 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry. After living in Seattle and New Hampshire, he retired and returned to Yakima.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene "Toots" Dunbar of Selah; four sons, Dennis Dunbar of Salt Lake City, Bruce Dunbar of Yakima, Kevin Dunbar of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and David Dunbar of Simi Valley, Calif.; four daughters, Candy Childs of Savage, Minn., Vickie Gillespie and Karen Bonner of Grants Pass, Ore., and Peggy Ambrose of Selah; a sister, Sandy Raney of Yakima; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Selah. Inurnment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Moxee at a later date. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
Bertha Waggener

Bertha Waggener, 93, of Kansas City, Mo., died Sunday.
Mrs. Waggener was born in Mansfield, Wash. Her family had a dairy farm in Zillah and later owned orchards in Buena Heights.
Survivors include a son, Richard G. Waggener; a daughter, Shirley F. Puglsye, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, Robert Merchant of Crestview, Fla.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, with the service immedately following at 2 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Burial will be in Zillah City Cemetery.
Gilbert Jackson

Gilbert Jackson, 91, of Yakima died Sunday at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Mr. Jackson was born in Ada, Ore. He worked as an equipment operator maintaining gas lines for El Paso Natural Gas.
Survivors include his wife, Vola Jackson of Moxee; a daughter, Delores Croswell of Washougal, Wash.; a son, Joseph Jackson of Moxee; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Burial will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Cause of homeless man's death not yet known
YAKIMA, Wash. — A final determination on how a homeless man died along the Naches River will have to wait for toxicology tests and a heart biopsy, according to the Yakima County Coroner’s Office.
Billy Joe Stricklin, 49, was found Tuesday evening outside of Yakima in the Selah Gap, an area popular with the homeless for camping.
The autopsy, conducted today, found no sign of foul play, deputy coroner Marshall Slight said.
Slight said members of the public had been helpful in locating the man’s family. A brother who lives in Arkansas is making funeral arrangements.

Frank Robert Day, 76, of Yakima died Wednesday at home.
Mr. Day was born in Ellensburg and lived in Yakima since his childhood. He was a union painter.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Day; a son, Mark Day of Yakima; a daughter, Kelley Crewdson of Bonney Lake, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family service. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

James T. Donahue, 85, of Yakima died Sunday at home.
Mr. Donahue was born in Seattle and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked most of his life in sales and was the owner and operator of multiple businesses.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Donahue of Yakima; three daughters, Christine Donoghue, Deborah Kaiser and Kathy Stone; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Life Center in Yakima. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.
Ricardo D. Erosa

Ricardo David Erosa, 52, of Yakima died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mr. Erosa was born in Lawton, Okla. At age 14, he began working at an auto body shop and eventually opened his own shop with his brothers in 1988. In 2001, he moved to Yakima, where he owned and operated several car washes from Yakima to the Lower Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two sons, Ricky and Julian, both of Yakima; his mother, Frances Bumgarner of Seattle; two brothers, Ron Erosa of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Mike Erosa of Pine Grove, Calif.; and two sisters, Renee Layer and Tracy Alexander, both of Douglas, Wyo.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Terrace heights Memorial Park.

Gale E. Shilman, 70, of Yakima died Wednesday at home. Mrs. Shilman was born in Ellendale, N.D. She worked as a fruit packer and sorter for various warehouses throughout the Yakima Valley.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Shilman of Kent, Wash., and Steve Shilman of Bellevue, Wash.; three brothers, Dale Hiepler of Ellendale, Doran Hiepler of Riverdale, N.D., and Richard Hiepler of Lemon Grove, Calif.; three sisters, Betty Zundell of Aberdeen, S.D., Vi Niederbeaumer of Wecota, S.D., and Marilyn Burns of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Jack F. Rice, 78, of Prosser died Wednesday. Mr. Rice was born in Timberlake, S.D., and served in the Navy. He spent most of his life in the Yakima Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Rice; seven children, Diane Luther, Vicki Stewart, Pam Lightfoot, Joseph Rice, Carrol Gobel, Patricia Hauver and Mike Ross; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Frank V. Warren, 82, of Yakima died Wednesday. Mr. Warren was born in Saltlick, Pa., and served in the Navy during World War II. He lived in California before moving to the Yakima area in 1979. He worked as a Food Inspector/Officer in Charge with the Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Warren of Yakima; two sons, Vince Warren of River Vale, N.J., and Paul Warren of Bothell, Wash.; two daughters, Vickie Incorvia of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Diane Tippett of Cashmere, Wash.; two brothers, Joseph Warzinski of Glen Burnie, Md., and Paul Warzinski of Tallmadge, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Warzinski of Greenburg, Pa., and Judy Hayes of Bradford, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Sharon Ash, 49, of Yakima, died Thursday at Parkside Nursing Care Center in Union Gap.
She was born in Howell, Mich. She worked at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Ash and Kevin Ash, both of Yakima; two daughters, Sherry Ash and Krystal Ash, both of Yakima; her mother, Gloria VanRaden of Yakima; and two sisters, Evelie Barrientes of Yakima and Carla Savage of Selah.

Nancy A. Faller

Nancy Ann Tobin Putney Faller, 83, died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Faller was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., and was raised in Seattle. She lived in Prosser, Wapato and in Yakima for about the last 50 years. She worked as a community activist centered on human and civil rights, a paralegal, a TV and radio commentator, and a writer.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Faller; four children, Gini, Liz, Janet, and Will Faller; a daughter-in-law, Diane Faller; and four grandchildren.
She will be buried in a small family service in Milltown, Wash., at a later date. A memorial celebration of her life in Yakima will also be announced later. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.
