John Thomas Frazier, 73, of Yakima died Friday.

Mr. Frazier was born in Waynesboro, Tenn. He worked for The Boeing Co. for many years, retiring as a maintenance supervisor in 1993.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Frazier of Yakima; two daughters, Debra Smythe and Cheryl Seek, both of Auburn, Wash.; two sons, John Frazier of Auburn and Thomas Frazier of Tacoma; two brothers, Gene Frazier of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Milton Frazier of Richmond, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service is pending. Cremation arrangements are by Keith & Keith Funeral Home of Yakima.

Tillie M. (Hambek) Pejsa
Announcement dated June 28, 2010
Tillie Mildred (Hambek) Pejsa, 93, of Yakima died Saturday at Parkside Care Center.

Mrs. Pejsa was born in Lynch, Neb. and moved to Yakima in 1956. She worked as a janitor and housekeeper into her 80s.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Hambek of Moxee; a daughter, Irene Pejsa of Dallas, S.D.; a brother, Frank Vomacka of Gregory, S.D.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service is pending in Gregory, S.D. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home of Yakima.

Ben F. Short
Announcement dated June 29, 2010
Ben F. Short, 90, of Yakima died Sunday. Mr. Short was born in Arcola, Ill., and served in the Army during World War II. He moved to the Yakima area at age 6. He worked as a foreman for Boise Cascade until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Short of Yakima; a son, Donald Short of Kamloops, British Columbia; a daughter, Ruth Schneider of Westin, Ore.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Side Church, Yakima. Burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park.

Dwain H. Dunn
Announcement dated June 29, 2010
Dwain "Dewey" H. Dunn, 70, of Yakima died Sunday at home. Mr. Dunn was born in Eminence, Mo. He was an engineer with the state Department of Transportation District 5, retiring in 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Dunn and Greg Dunn, both of Yakima; two sisters, Loese Ford and Linda Kincannon, both of Yakima; and three grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.

Virginia K. Carlton

Virginia K. Carlton, 97, of Yakima died Sunday at home. Mrs. Carlton was born in Davenport, Wash. She and her husband owned Carlton's Little City Garage.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Watson of Yakima; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. July 17 at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 129 N. 96th Ave., Yakima. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Judith Koreski

Judith "Judy" Koreski, 50, of Yakima died Sunday at home. Mrs. Koreski was born in Irrigon, Ore. She had worked at Yakima Valley School in Selah.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Koreski of Yakima; a daughter, Brandy Edris of Yakima; a son, Zach Koreski of Fort Richardson, Alaska; two brothers, Randy Watkins of Burbank, Wash., and Corky Hanson of Wallula, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Celebration of life will be at noon July 10 at her daughter's house, 170 Homestead Road, Yakima. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Clelus S. Adams
Announcement dated June 29, 2010
Clelus "Wade" S. Adams, 75, of Yakima died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Adams was born in Baker, Ore., and served in the Marines. He was a long-time employee of Mercy Theaters.

Survivors include a son, Wade Elliott Adams; a brother, Ted Adams of Yakima; a sister, Sandra Pool of Yakima; two stepchildren, Kathy Weber of Yakima and Larry Link of San Francisco; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending. Arrangements by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Patrick S. Tate
Announcement dated June 29, 2010
Patrick Spencer Tate, 59, of Yakima died June 17 at home. Mr. Tate was born in Yakima and served in the Navy for 12 years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked construction for REW and later for Tri-Ply Construction, where he last worked as site manager.

Survivors include his father, Oscar Tate; two brothers, Stephen D. Tate of Yakima and Michael A. Tate of Woodinville, Wash.; two daughters, Candice Tate and Patricia Long, both of Socorro, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Vicky Tate of Socorro; two sons, Ethan and Travis of Kansas; and one grandchild.

At his request, no memorial service is planned. Arrangements are through the Neptune Society of Bellevue, Wash.

Francisco Escalante
Announcement dated June 30, 2010
Francisco Escalante, 65, of Yakima died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Escalante was born in Gómez Farias, Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to Yakima around 1970. He worked in orchards and fields.

Survivors include his wife, Adelita Escalante; a son, Frank Escalante; a daughter, Cecilia Rivera, all of Pasadena, Texas; and two siblings, Demetrio Escalante and Juanita Escalante, both of Gómez Farias.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Yakima. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Peter Schmidt
Announcement dated June 30, 2010
Peter "Pete" Schmidt, 86, of Yakima died Sunday. Mr. Schmidt was born in Hirschville, N.D., and moved to the Yakima area in 1935. He served in the Army during World War II and was a truck driver for Snyder Bread until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Schmidt of Yakima; four sons, Don Graff of Redding, Calif., Michael Schmidt and Greg Schmidt of Yakima and Terry Soloman of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter, Cheryl Menke of Selah; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery.

Marjorie A. Weeber
Announcement dated June 30, 2010
Marjorie A. "Marge" Weeber, 83, of Yakima died Sunday at home. Mrs. Weeber was born and raised in Ellensburg. She was a nurse and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Yakima Convalescent Home, and retired after 18 years as director of nursing at the Chalet Convalescent Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Tarango of Yakima; a son, Paul Weeber of Federal Way, Wash.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park at a later date.

Freda M. Gibbens
Announcement dated June 30, 2010
Freda May Gibbens, 91, of Yakima died June 18 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Gibbens was born in Adna, Wash. She was a clerk and checker in grocery stores in Yakima.

Survivors include three stepchildren, Philip Gibbens of Yakima, Don Gibbens of California and Roberta Mallory of Whidbey Island, Wash.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. July 8 at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. July 9 at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Sergio E. Rojas
Announcement dated June 30, 2010
Sergio E. Rojas, 57, of Toppenish died Sunday. Mr. Rojas was born in Valedeces, Mexico, and moved to the Yakima Valley in 1969. He worked as a farm laborer in the Northwest and Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Catarina Rojas of Toppenish; four sons, Sergio Rojas Jr. and Abel Rojas of Phoenix, Ariz., and Artemio and George Rojas of Wapato; three brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysious Catholic Church in Toppenish. Cremation will follow.

Patrice L. Anderson
Announcement dated June 17, 2010
Patrice L. Anderson, 50, of Grandview died Tuesday. Mrs. Anderson was born in Seattle. She was a registered nurse.

Survivors include her mother, Carolyn Boyd of Grandview; a daughter, Amanda Herndon of Yakima; a brother, Boyd Dobbins of Port Orchard, Wash.,; and two sisters, Paige Alvord of Tacoma and Anne Hernandez of Grandview.

Family services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

Mark E. Church

Mark Elliot Church, 39, of Yakima died Monday. Mr. Church was born in Yakima. He was employed with Yakima Distributing for several years before health reasons forced him to stop working.

Survivors include two children, Caitlin Church of Moxee and Harvest Rippy of Yakima; his parents, Jim and Lola Church of Moxee; a brother, Jerry Church of Yakima; and two sisters, Dee-Dee Proffit of Moxee and Tina Eckman of Kennewick.

No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Ray D. Hink
Announcement dated June 17, 2010
Ray Dean Hink, 81, of Kittitas died June 8 at home. Mr. Hink was born in Spokane and lived most of his life in the Kittitas Valley. He served in the Navy and worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 31 years. He also was a volunteer for the city of Kittitas Fire Department, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include three sons, Wilford J. Hink of Ellensburg, Richard D. Hink and John F. Hink of Kittitas; two sisters, Donna Siegal and Betty Dobbins; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial potluck will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kittitas City Hall. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Juan Carrillo Carrizal Jr.
Announcement dated June 17, 2010
Juan Carrillo Carrizal Jr., 84, of Zillah died Tuesday.

Mr. Carrizal was born in San Antonio Pawnee, Texas, and was a World War II veteran. He worked as a lead irrigator.

Survivors include three sons, John Creole Carrizal, Roy Anthony Carrizal and Paul Michael Carrizal; four daughters, Virginia V. Carrizal, Patricia Diane Quintana, Carmalinda Margaret Carrizal and Christi Ann Carrizal; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Zillah at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah.

LeRoy F. Thierolf
Announcement dated June 23, 2010
LeRoy Francis Thierolf, 92, of Moxee died Sunday in Yakima.

Mr. Thierolf was born in Cedar Creek, Neb., and served in the Army for 24 years, during World War II and Korea. He also worked as a mechanic at Burrows Tractor.

Survivors include two sons, Al Thierolf of Moxee and Norman Thierolf of Wichita Falls, Texas; a daughter, Susan Suits of Naches; two brothers, Bob Thierolf of Ocean City, Wash., and Fritz Thierolf of Yakima; a sister, Carol Littlefield of Yakima; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Gary A. Gomez

Gary A. Gomez, 56, of Ellensburg died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Gomez was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He was an assistant manager at Arby's and had lived in Ellensburg for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jo Gomez of Ellensburg; two sons, Jeremy Gomez of Ellensburg and Thomas Gomez of Cle Elum; four daughters, Nancy Cope and Amanda Gomez of Ellensburg, Rhonda Garnett of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Shelby Deranged of Olympia; a sister, Linda Gomez of Ellensburg; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at the Ellensburg Eagles Lodge. Date and time will be announced. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Raymond E. Butler
Announcement dated June 23, 2010
Raymond E. "Sonny" Butler, 75, of Granger died Monday in Yakima.

Mr. Butler was born in Michigan and moved to the Lower Valley in 1955. He was a certified Forest Ranger for the state of Washington. He worked for various warehouses in the Valley, but primarily Welch's in Prosser. He also drove truck for Fairchild Freight and Easley Trucking Co., before starting his own trucking business, Ray and Jean Trucking. He also farmed.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Butler of Granger; two daughters, Nora Butler of Yakima and Carla Stoops of Zillah; three sons, Steven Butler of Granger, Mitchell of Kansas and Kerry Butler of Phoenix; four brothers, Butch, Gary, Carl and Earl; five sisters, Sharon, Cheryl, Sandy, Linda and Pat; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Zillah Cemetery.

Wade B. Kuiken
Announcement dated June 23, 2010
Wade Brady Kuiken, 32, of Zillah died Monday in Grandview.

Mr. Kuiken was born in Sunnyside. He had been employed by Anderson Equipment, RDO, Johnson's Concentrate and currently by Welch's.

Survivors include his wife, Michele Kuiken; three children, Dakota, Harley and Clayton Kuiken, all of Zillah; his parents, Philip and Susan Johnson; three siblings, Aaron Kuiken, Wyatt Kuiken and Hailee Mount, all of Sunnyside; and his grandfather, Walter Johnson of Sunnyside.

Viewing will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, all at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. Monday in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.
