Wilfred L. Ableidinger

Wilfred “Willy” L. Ableidinger, 89, of Yakima died Monday at Cedar Hills. Mr. Ableidinger was born in Kensal, N.D., and served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a supervisor for the Bureau of Reclamation, working locally at the Roza and Terrace Heights irrigation projects.
Survivors include two sons, Robert “Bob” Ableidinger of Renton, Wash., and Dale Ableidinger of Yakima; two daughters, Katie Walker of Yakima and Lani Faye of Kirkland, Wash.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel, with concluding services in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Floyd Barquist

Floyd Barquist, 90, of Yakima died Saturday. Mr. Barquist was born in Osakis, Minn. He lived in Enumclaw, Wash., and Los Angeles and Yakima. He worked as a mold-loftsman in shipbuilding during World War II. He worked in many grocery stores in a variety of jobs. In 1980, he retired from Noel Foods. He then went to work as a sales representative for Kelly-Clark food brokers and retired from there in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Barquist; four children, Norman of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Carol of Yakima, Lisa of Clearwater, Fla., and Beth of Battle Ground, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. May 16 in the Orchard Park Activity Room. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.
Floyd L. Brons

Floyd L. Brons, 87, of Outlook died Monday. Mr. Brons was born in Gleed. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Brons of Outlook; two sons, Leon Brons of Outlook and Steve Brons of Buckley, Wash.; two daughters, Linda McKeirnan and Peggy Herres, both of Pomeroy, Wash.; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. May 3 at Valley Hills Funeral Home of Sunnyside. Burial will be held at a later date.
Donald F. Conner

Donald F. Conner, 96, of Union Gap died Saturday. Mr. Conner was born in Lyman, Wash., lived most of his life in Yakima and served in the Army during World War II. He was a teacher for many years and retired from Yakima Valley Community College as a professor in 1978.
Survivors include his niece, Sara Butler of Olympia, and friends C.E. Robertson of Bellevue, Wash., and David Black of Yakima.

Kenneth L. Gere

Kenneth L. Gere, 95, of Cle Elum died Monday at Royal Vista Care Center. Mr. Gere was born in Peru, Kan. A longtime resident of Cle Elum, he was a maintenance man for the Northern Pacific Railroad prior to retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond Gere of North Bend, Wash., Charles Gere of Butlerville, Ind., and Ed Gere of Cle Elum; a daughter, Susie Piercy of North Bend; three brothers, Rodney Gere of Olympia, Vonnie Gere of Tacoma and Ronald Gere of Evans, Wash; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1575 145th Place SE, Bellevue, Wash. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Julia Harris, 87, of Yakima died Saturday. Mrs. Harris was born in Shenandoah, Pa.
Survivors include a sister, Teresa Minda; three children, Steven Harris, Jr., Barbara Ruff and Michael Harris; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Interment will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Janet Rieg LaCocq, 88, of Yakima died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. LaCocq was born in Portland.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan LaCocq Coan of Atherton, Calif., JoAnn LaCocq McCarthy of Yakima and Mary LaCocq Zorich of Everett, Wash.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas Joseph "Tommy" Walker, 90, of Selah died Monday at Willow Springs Care Center in Yakima. Mr. Walker was born and raised in Long Branch, N.J., and served in the Army during World War II. He moved to Yakima and worked for Lee and Eastes Fuel Distribution Co., and then Deccio Produce and Associated Grocers. He retired in 1981.
Survivors include four sons, Tom Walker of Naches, Ray Walker of Zillah, Mike Walker of Yakima and Pat Walker of Winlock, Wash.; a daughter, Mary Gordon of Bellevue, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yakima. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.

Edith Marie Hendricks, 88, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hendricks was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and had been a resident of the Yakima Valley for many years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four child-ren, Carol Waggoner of Eugene, Ore., Glenda Parks of Yakima, Hodge and Connie Medina, both of Spokane; two sisters, Mildred Hall of Ontario, Ore., and Orbie Pinkston of Oklahoma; two brothers, Clyde Devall of Kalis-pell, Mont., and Earnnie Devall of Yakima; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mildred Jean Bollinger, 81, of Ellensburg died Friday. Mrs. Bollinger was born in Snohomish, Wash. She was a homemaker.

Sally Ann Schormann, 74, of Ellensburg died Friday at home.
Mrs. Schormann was born in Groton, S.D., and moved with her family to Yakima and then to Ellensburg. After working in Seattle for several years, she and her husband returned to Ellensburg. She joined the Kittitas County Treasurer’s office in 1975 and retired in 1999 after serving as treasurer for 12 years.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Schormann of Ellensburg; two sons, Mike Schormann and Scott Schormann; a daughter, Kathy Thayer; a brother, Gordon Larsen; and six grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. May 15 at the Ellensburg Moose Lodge. Private graveside inurnment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Violet Marie Koreski, 95, of Moxee died Wednesday at Landmark Care Center. Mrs. Koreski was born in Waterville, Maine. She worked for Snokist Cannery for over 30 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Muriel Seipel; a son, Frank Koreski; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Church in Moxee. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Gemella B. Clausing, 92, of Yakima died Sunday at Apple Creek Adult Family Home. Mrs. Clausing was born in Yakima. She and her husband farmed.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Clausing and Ted Clausing, both of Yakima; a daughter, Janet Clark of Yakima; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Patricia A. Downey, 81, of Ellensburg died April 16 at Royal Vista Care Center. Mrs. Downey was born in Minneapolis and moved to Ellensburg in 1967. She was employed at the Holiday Inn and later at Central Washington University until retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Blair Downey and Brian Downey of Ellensburg and Blain Downey of Spokane; a daughter, Sue Forsell of Twin Harbors, Minn.; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Walter W. McManus, 58, of Yakima died Friday. Mr. McManus was born in Jersey City, N.J. After 20 years of service with the Army, he retired as sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon McManus of Yakima; two daughters, Angelica McManus-Null of Fayetteville, N.C., and Amber McManus of Yakima; and a brother, Marcus McManus of New Jersey.

Douglas Ray, 52, of Toppenish died Thursday. Mr. Ray was born in Warden, Wash., and lived in Yakima and Wenatchee. He was last employed by Far West Fabricators.

Bruce Lyle Sanislo, 67, of Yakima died Sunday. Mr. Sanislo was born in Yakima. He worked at Shields Bag and Printing for 35 years. After 29 years with West Valley Fire Department, he retired as captain.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Sanislo of Yakima; four sons, Brian Sanislo of Las Vegas, Dennis Sanislo of Des Moines, Wash., and Howard Goodrich and David Goodrich, both of Yakima; a daughter, Theresa Goodrich of Yakima; his parents, Merten and Thelma Sanislo of Yakima; a sister, Sharon Beyersdorf of Merritt Island, Fla.; and one grandson.

Ardina C. Weishaar, 93, of Yakima died Sunday. Mrs. Weishaar was born in Gackle, N.D., and came to Yakima in 1942. She was employed with Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital food service for more than 20 years before retiring.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Weishaar of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Alvina Vetter of Yakima; a brother, Adolph Elhard of Yakima; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Allen Douglass Wright, 94, of Yakima died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wright was born in Emmett, Idaho. He was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.
