Bobby W. Maldonado, 61, of Okanogan, Wash., died Thursday at home. Mr. Maldonado was born in Yakima. He was an accomplished silversmith and an artist. He had lived in Okanogan County for the last nine years.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Telakish of Okanogan; seven children, Robert Meyers, Letisha Peterson and Ardell Maldonado of Toppenish, Charles Telakish of Yakima, Miranda Telakish of Omak, Wash., Truman Maldonado of White Swan and Sarah Telakish of Kelso, Wash.; six brothers, Ray of Montesano, Wash., Ron, Manuel, Linzie and Alan of Toppenish and Rudy of Wapato; three sisters, Elizabeth Tsezana of Seattle, Lupita Chrisman of Lynden, Wash., and Nadine Maldonado of Yakima; and five grandchildren.

Dressing services will be at 1 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home. Overnight services will be in the Toppenish Creek Longhouse in White Swan tonight and Sunday night. The funeral procession will leave at sunrise Monday for the Husum Cemetery in White Salmon.

Marian J. (Beckner) Park

Marian Juanita (Beckner) Park, 87, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Park was born and raised in Port Angeles, Wash. She later moved to Yakima. She worked for a dry cleaning business in Selah for many years.

Survivors include her husband, William Park of Yakima; a sister, Janice Meuller of Puyallup, Wash.; and a brother, Bert Beckner of Port Angeles.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel.

Jose R. Villalba
Announcement dated April 10, 2010
Jose Roberto Villalba, 23, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Villalba was born in Chietla, Puebla, Mexico. He worked as a farm laborer most of his life.

Survivors include his parents, Pantalion and Rafaela Villalba Casas of Mexico City; a sister, Paula Maria Villalba, and a brother, Mateo Villalba, both of Mexico City. He is also survived by two more sisters and one brother, also of Mexico.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A vigil will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, also at Keith and Keith. Interment will be in San Miguel Latoma Cemetery in Chietla, Puebla, Mexico.

Alta M. Van Cleave

Alta Marie Van Cleave, 92, of Moses Lake, Wash., died Wednesday. Mrs. Van Cleave was born in South Bend, Neb. She had lived in Yakima on and off over the years. She worked as an orchardist/farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Van Cleave of New Brighton, Minn., and Eddie Van Cleave of Hermiston, Ore.; a daughter, Shirley Fuchs of Moses Lake; a brother, Keith Boob of Seattle; two sisters, Joyce Razey of Zillah and Janice Scott of Marysville, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be April 24 at the Buena Grange, with private burial later. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

Mildred L. Walkenhauer

Mildred Lavern Walkenhauer, 80, of Yakima died Wednesday at home. Mrs. Walkenhauer was born in Fayetteville, Ark. She worked at the Snokist Warehouse for 40 years.

Survivors include her husband, James Walkenhauer; a daughter, Janet Archer; two sons, Jim Walkenhauer and John Walkenhauer, all of Yakima; two brothers, Everett Reynolds of Redmond, Ore., and Keith Reynolds of Yakima; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Concluding services and burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park.

James E. Von Essen

James Eugene Von Essen, 72, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

He was a lifetime resident of Yakima and worked as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Von Essen of Yakima; a son, James Von Essen of Gainesville, Ga; a brother, Chuck Von Essen of Wenatchee; a sister, Alice Beattiger of Wenatchee; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home in Yakima.

Ida H. Orndorff

Ida Helen Orndorff, 91, of Yakima died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Orndorff was born in Blackfoot, Idaho. She worked in the fruit industry for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Orndorff of Yakima; a son, Steven Orndorff of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Sondra Ripley of Yakima; a brother, Elmer Gohl of Yakima; a sister, Bertha Berglund of Pasco; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel in Yakima. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at West Hills Memorial Park in West Valley.

Etcyl E. Cook

Etcyl Ervin Cook, 79, of Yakima died April 2 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Cook was born in Taneyville, Mo., and lived in Yakima for 26 years. He was a lumber manufacturing supervisor. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

Services will be for immediate family only. Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Spokane.

Lucille V. Kuhn

Lucille V. Kuhn, 88, of Wapato died Tuesday in Toppenish.

Mrs. Kuhn was born in Grand Junction, Colo. She moved to the Yakima area in the late 1930s and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Troy Kuhn of Wapato; two daughters, Judy Butler of Texarkana, Ark., and June Zedilar of Kennewick; a sister, Maude Whiteside of Spokane; and nine grandchildren.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are by Merritt Funeral Home of Wapato.

Donita Sandberg, 63, of Grandview died Saturday in Spokane.

Mrs. Sandberg was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was a homemaker and farmed in the Grandview area for 37 years.

Survivors include her husband, David Sandberg of Grandview, and a son, Tracy Sandberg of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Burial will be Saturday at the Gandview City Cemetery, with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. at the Grandview Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home of Sunnyside.

Lester Krack
Announcement dated April 11, 2010
Lester Krack, 90, of Olympia died Thursday at home following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mr. Krack was born in Gackle, N.D., and was a longtime Grandview resident. He taught school for two years before moving to Grandview in 1940. He served as a medic in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as an electrician at the Libby's food processing plant until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of Olympia; a son, Alan, of Olympia; a daughter, Mary, of Spartanburg, S.C.; a brother, Robert, of Olympia; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Grandview Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Grandview Senior Center.

Barbara J. Newland

Barbara Jean Newland, 60, died Saturday in her Yakima home. Mrs. Newland was born in Lake Forest Park, Ill.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel A. Supanich of Kent, Wash., Mark Supanich of Vaughn, Wash., and Sean M. Stevens of Orleans, Ind.; her mother, Ethel May Kick of Auburn, Wash.; two brothers, Kenneth J. Kick of Ocean Shores, Wash., and Daniel Kick of Antioch, Ill.; a sister, Judith Kick Smith of Bothell, Wash.; lifelong friend, Sharon Jackson of Spokane; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 705 S. 38th Ave.

Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Hubert H. Davis

Hubert H. Davis, 88, died Friday in his Yakima home.

Mr. Davis was born in Eldon, Iowa, and served in the Army during World War II. He lived in Iowa and Missouri before moving to Yakima in 1949, where he worked as a truck driver for the Washington Cannery Co-Op for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Davis, his daughter-in-law, Dorothy Davis; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel, followed by the burial in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Daniel Guzman

Daniel Guzman, 97, died Friday in his Yakima home.

Mr. Guzman was born in San Pedro Tesitan in Jalisco, Mexico.

Survivors include a daughter, Rafaela Guzman de Navarro of Yakima; three sons, Armando Guzman Paz of Yakima, Antonio Guzman Paz of Mexico and Rafael Guzman Paz of Yakima; three brothers, Roberto, Lorenso and Visente Guzman; five sisters, Julia, Guadalupe, Rosalina, Maria, Petra and Pas; 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services are pending. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Annabelle C. Graham

Annabelle Cecila Graham, 85, died Friday at Emerald Care Convalescent Center in Wapato.

Mrs. Graham was born and raised Wapato, where she owned and operated Mt. Adams Beauty Salon for 42 years.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Graham of Tacoma and Jerry Graham of Wapato; two daughters, Judy Beaman of Wapato and Linda Sawyers of Tacoma; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Merritt Funeral Home, followed by a recitation of the rosary.

Burial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Merritt Funeral Home.

Rosemary M. Groth

Rosemary M. Groth, 58, of Yakima died Monday at her home. Ms. Groth was born in Yakima. She worked as a checker for Safeway and at Top Foods.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Wittenberger of Kent, Wash.

At her request, no funeral will be held. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.

Miley John, 75, of Yakima died Tuesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. John was born in Joplin, Mo. He worked as a car salesman and an entrepreneur.

Survivors include a son, Miller John of Union Gap; two daughters, Diana John and Lola John, both of Yakima; and a brother, Nick John of Yakima.

Beatrice I. Hart

Beatrice "Bea" Iola Hart, 86, of Selah died Monday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hart was born in Peru, Ind., and was a longtime resident of Yakima and Selah. She worked for several retail businesses, including Yakima Music Co., Stanley Vacuum and Luv's Hallmark. She retired in 1997 from Howard's Drug Store in Selah.

Survivors include two sons, Victor Hart of Moses Lake and Charles Hart of Selah; two daughters, Ginny Petty of Moses Lake and Julie Huntington of Selah; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

George E. Perry and Clara Perry

George Edward Perry and Clara Perry, both 58, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., died March 28 as the result of a car accident.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Greater Faith Baptist Church, 816 S. Sixth St., Yakima. There will also be a service from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1 at Meadows Country Club, 1875 Fair Flex Drive in Pomona, Calif.

Nancy Lea Jaussaud, 62, of Yakima died Tuesday at Parkside Nursing Center. Mrs. Jaussaud was born in New Mexico.

Survivors include her husband, Detlef Jaussaud of Yakima; a daughter, Amanda Watkins of Pittsburgh, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Ronald David Stoothoff, 74, of Yakima died Tuesday. Mr. Stoothoff was born in Drayton Plains, Mich. He was employed by Cub Crafters as an aircraft manufacturing inspector, and he later worked for George and Julie Mearns.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Jean (McAllister) Stoothoff of Yakima; six sons, David Ronald Stoothoff, Eric Paul Stoothoff, Thomas Alan Stoothoff, Timothy James Stoothoff and Peter John Stoothoff of Yakima and Michael Joseph Stoothoff of Spokane; four daughters, Sharon Kay (Stoothoff) Morgan of England, Amanda Karen (Stoothoff) Roberts of Zillah, Catherine Ann Stoothoff of Spokane and Jennifer Lynn (Stoothoff) Shipley of Yakima; three brothers, William Stoothoff of Vancouver, Wash., Robert Stoothoff of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Richard Stoothoff of Loudon, Tenn.; and 18 grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Valley Fellowship, 1701 W. Nob Hill Blvd., Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

Marjorie A. Taylor, 86, of Yakima died Tuesday. Mrs. Taylor was born in Winlock, Wash., and moved to the Yakima area in the mid-1920s. She worked on the family farm and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Alan Taylor of Wapato; two daughters, Marlane Heilman of Yakima and Diane Moser of Prosser; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Reservation Community Memorial Park, Wapato.
