Norma L. Krieger, 89, of Zillah died Saturday in Sunnyside. Mrs. Krieger was born in Arriba, Colo. She worked at Stadleman’s Fruit Warehouse.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolin Morford of Zillah and Kay Millsap of Forks, Wash.; a brother, Jim Barr of Washougal, Wash.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Zillah Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.

June Mondor
Announcement dated March 30, 2010
June Mondor, 87, of Yakima died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Mondor was born in Yakima and raised and educated in Cowiche. She and her husband managed a hop farm and owned a fruit orchard.

Survivors include four children, Dolly Busey, Judy Rose, Jody Frank and Bob Mondor, all of Yakima; a brother, Dale Williams of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, also at Keith and Keith, with burial to follow in Tahoma Cemetery.

William Rockett
Announcement dated March 30, 2010
William “Bill” Rockett, 77, of Yakima died Friday. Mr. Rockett was born in Seattle and moved to Yakima in 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Saundra Rockett; two sons, Steven Rockett of Sumner, Wash., and David Rockett of Tacoma; a daughter, Danielle Rockett of Kirkland, Wash.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial is planned.

Evelyn N. Waite
Announcement dated March 30, 2010
Evelyn N. Waite, 76, of Ellensburg died Sunday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Ellensburg.

Survivors include a son, Melvin Huss of Everett, Wash.; three daughters, Cheral Young of Stanwood, Wash., Debra Moore of Ephrata and Cynthia Elliott of Selah; two sisters, Ruth Waite of Illinois and Dorothy Robinson of Thorp; and a brother, Elwin E. Waite of Florida.

Memorial observation will be private. Inurnment will be in the family plot at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Manley A. Young
Announcement dated March 30, 2010
Manley Alvin Young, 77, of Naches died Friday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mr. Young was born in Sidney, Mont., and moved to Naches as a child. He joined the Army and served in Korea. In 1956 he moved to Seattle and worked at Boeing as an engineer for 39 years before retiring to Naches in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Young of Naches; a son, Gary Young of Juneau, Alaska; a daughter, Lori Nay of Naches; a sister, Dixie Reed of Yakima; a brother, Garold Young of Bartlesville, Okla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 10, and continue until the service begins at 11 a.m., all at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Naches. Burial will follow in the Naches Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Elizabeth R. Moberley

Elizabeth Rachel Moberley, 65, of Grandview died Sunday. Mrs. Moberley was born in Chico, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Debi Lovelace of Kent, Wash.; three sons, Mikel P Proudlock of Grandview, Mark Proudlock of Kent and Jerry Proudlock of Spanish Fork, Utah; a sister, Kay Maxwell; four brothers, David Moberley, Sydney Moberley, Lawrence Moberley and Anthony Abbott; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at a later date at the Sunnyside Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home LTD and Crematory.

Nina L. Armagost
Announcement dated March 31, 2010
Nina Learn Armagost, 52, of Chehalis, Wash., died March 7. Mrs. Armagost was born in Korea and moved to Yakima in 1986. She worked at the courthouse and in 1999 opened the Asian Sensation Restaurant in Glenwood Square. She then worked at Caribbean Casino before moving to Chehalis in 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Wil Armagost of Chehalis; three daughters, Haley Learn, Angela Martinez and Tina Yurick; two sons, David Martinez and Alex Martinez; her mother and siblings in Korea; and one grandchild.
Service were March 12 in Chehalis. Arrangements were by Funeral Alternative of Washington.

Leland D. Baker

Leland D. Baker, 71, of Yakima died March 21 at his home. Mr. Baker was born in Ottawa, Kan., and served in the Army. He was a baker for Safeway for more than 40 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise Richardson of Yakima; two sons, Darin Scott of Moxee and Daniel Flanik of Kettle Falls, Wash.; two sisters, Elinore Baker of Pineville, La., and Arlyss Weast of Overland Park, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Full military honors will be conducted by members of William Wharton Post #379 VFW and Washington State National Guard.

Rosa G. Batarao
Announcement dated March 31, 2010
Rosa Garingan Batarao, 92, of Wapato died Monday at her home. Mrs. Batarao was born in Solano Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, and emigrated to the United States. She owned a retail store while living in the Philippines.
Survivors include eight children, Guillermo Batarao, Ignacio Batarao Jr., Domingo Batarao, Juliet Batarao and Caroline Batarao, all of Wapato, Rogelio Batarao and Juan Batarao of Union Gap and Raymond Batarao of Charleston, S.C.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. today, with a vigil at 5:30 p.m., at Merritt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Reservation Community Memorial Park, Wapato.

Lawrence J. Redman

Lawrence James Redman, 75, of Prosser died Sunday at Prosser Memorial Hospital. Mr. Redman was born in Polson, Mont., and raised in Boulder, Mont. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He had also lived in Seeley, Mont.; Rathdrum, Idaho; Finley, Wash.; and Yakima. He farmed, branded cattle, broke horses, raced horses, working in logging, recycling, auctioneering, horseshoeing and owned a secondhand store.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Redman of Prosser; eight children, Larry Redman of Polson, Pat Redman of Kennewick, Mary Bush of Pasco, Gary Redman of St. Ignatius, Mont., Clyde Redman of Irrigon, Ore., Laura Redman of Sumner, Wash., Evelyn Larimer of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and John Redman of Locust Grove, Calif.; a brother, Lyle Redman of Montana; three sisters, Dot Hathaway, Annie Watson and Cletta Pickens, all of Montana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.

Wendell G. Rhoten

Wendell Giles Rhoten, 85, of Yakima died Monday at his home. Mr. Rhoten was born in Rocky Hill, Ark., and lived in Selah for 60 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a railroad switchman for 22 years and later as a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthell Rhoten of Yakima; two daughters, Linda Sampson of Yakima and Marlene Velasquez of Pasco; a sister, Merle Arnhart of Benton City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in West Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Kay Watkins
Announcement dated March 31, 2010
Kay Watkins, 73, of Yakima died Monday. Mrs. Watkins was born in Cabin Creek, Mont. She lived in Apache Junction, Ariz., for 10 years and then moved to Missoula, Mont., where she and her husband ran the 93 Stop and Go Drive-In for over 30 years. After retiring, they moved to Yakima.
Survivors include her husband, Gwyn Watkins of Yakima; a daughter, Kathy Ortiz of Yakima; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Dorothy A. Williams
Announcement dated March 31, 2010
Dorothy A. Williams, 95, of Cheney, Wash., died March 25. Mrs. Williams was born in Wallace, Mo., and came to Washington state in 1937. She lived in the Yakima Valley for 45 years, where she helped raise peppermint, spearmint, hay, corn, sugar beets, other crops and cattle.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Williams of Medical Lake, Wash., and Richard Williams of Cheney; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the East Prosser Cemetery. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home.

Ina B. Morris

Ina Beatrice Morris, 92, of Yakima died Tuesday. She was born in North Dakota. She was the owner/operator of Morris Radio and TV Service.
Private burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Sharon Belieu, 63, of Yakima died Saturday.

Mrs. Belieu was born in Powell, Wyo., and moved to Yakima at age 3. She was employed as a kitchen aide for several years in local nursing homes.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Belieu of Yakima; a daughter, Ele Belieu of Yakima; and a brother, LeRoy Knopp of Milton, Wash.

She will be buried in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Edna M. Ellingsworth

Edna May Ellingsworth, 88, of Yakima died Wednesday at Willow Springs Care Facility.

Mrs. Ellingsworth was born in Cashion, Okla.

Survivors include five children, Daniel Ellingsworth and Elsie Scott of Yakima, Clint Ellingsworth of West Richland, Bonnie Ellingsworth of Wapato and Ward Ellingsworth of Portland; a twin brother, Edwin Ward of Tennessee; and numerous grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Terry L. McMurrey

Terry Lee McMurrey, 53, of Yakima died Wednesday.

Mr. McMurrey was born in Porterville, Calif., and moved to Yakima from Prosser 14 years ago. He worked with local beekeepers for many years.

Survivors include a son, Terry McMurrey Jr. of Porterville; two stepdaughters, Jessica Hansen of Yakima and Andrea Vasquez of Redding, Calif.; a stepson, Jesse Davis of Porterville; three brothers, Danny McMurrey of Prosser, Randy McMurrey of Porterville and James McMurrey of Fort Worth, Texas; and a sister, Theresa McMurrey.

John E. Russell Jr.

John E. Russell Jr., 70, of Yakima died Monday.

Mr. Russell was born in Dennison, Texas. In his younger years, he worked as a meat cutter for Safeway. He later established Estate Planning Services, dealing with insurance, estate planning and taxes.

Survivors include his wife, Lana Russell of Yakima; two sons, John Russell II of Yakima and Brian Russell of Hillsboro, Ore.; a daughter, LaRee Tillett of Silverdale, Wash.; a stepson, Kenneth Wheeler of Yakima; a sister, Irene Melton-Rugg of Vancouver, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stella M. Bertsch

Stella Mae Bertsch, 69, of Grandview died Tuesday.

Mrs. Bertsch was born in St. Helena, Calif.

Survivors include six children, Michael Bertsch of Joshua Tree, Calif., Tony Bertsch of Sunnyside, Robert Bertsch of Lakebay, Wash., Teresa Harder of Cheney, Wash., Jeff Bertsch of Grandview and Joe Bertsch of Burbank, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Private family graveside services will be held in the Grandview Cemetery.

John Urlacher

John Urlacher, 86, of Yakima died Tuesday at his daughter's home.

Mr. Urlacher was born in New England, N.D., and moved to Yakima in 1937. He worked as a lead maintenance mechanic for the Noel Corp. for 18 years, before retiring.

Survivors include four daughters, Janice Valenzuela of Jamul, Calif., Kathleen Dean, Teresa Loveland and Judy Jones, all of Yakima; six sons, David Urlacher, Matthew Urlacher and Richard Urlacher, all of Yakima, Joseph Urlacher of Spokane, Robert Urlacher of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Vincent Urlacher of Gleed; two brothers, Joe Urlacher of Yakima and Steve Urlacher of Seattle; a sister, Eve Martin of Yakima; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Cathedral. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Alyce M. Ferguson

Alyce Mayme Ferguson, 89, of Yakima died Tuesday at Landmark Care Center.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Pendleton, Ore., and moved to Yakima in 1944. She helped establish Ferguson's Carriage House, an Ethan Allen Store. She was in the furniture business for more than 40 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Ferguson and James Ferguson, both of Yakima; two sisters, Lorraine Ruff of Bellingham, Wash., and Patricia Lyons of Federal Way, Wash.; a brother, Don Stoll of Eugene, Ore.; and one granddaughter.

At her request, there will be no services. She will be inurned in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
