Elizabeth Allenbaugh

Elizabeth Allenbaugh, 74, of Cle Elum died Thursday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mrs. Allenbaugh was born in Kelso, N.D., and moved to Yakima as a child. In 1969 she moved to Cle Elum. She enjoyed a variety of occupations, including secretarial work and cooking at McDonald's until retiring a number of years ago.
Survivors include four children, Mildred Heidt of Yakima, William Allenbaugh of Ellensburg, Brenda Allenbaugh of California and David Allenbaugh Jr. of South Cle Elum; six siblings, Margaret Diener of Naches, Dave Johnston of Vancouver, Wash., Jim Johnston of Parker's Prairie, Minn., Donna Rasmussen of Gig Harbor, Wash., Lloyd Johnston of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Penny Strawn of Ryderwood, Wash.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in High Valley Cemetery, 2521 Robinson Canyon Road, Ellensburg. This will be followed by a memorial celebration of life and reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at South Cle Elum Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 327 Madison St. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.
Paulo M. Castellon

Paulo M. Castellon, 65, of Yakima died Wednesday. Mr. Castellon was born in Kermit, Texas, and moved to the Yakima are in the 1960s. He owned his own auto repair business and worked as a mechanic until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia C. Castellon of Yakima; a son, Paul Castellon Jr. of Yakima; four daughters, Lisa Castellon, Anita Castellon and Alicia Castellon, all of Yakima, and Julie Crispin of Stockton, Calif.; 13 brothers and sisters, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Lucille Martin

Lucille Grace Resurreccion Martin, 24, of Yakima died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center from injuries received in an automobile accident. Ms. Martin was born in Delano, Calif. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for three years at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and two years at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Survivors include her parents, Daniel and Lizabeth Martin of Yakima; a sister, Lynda Martin; and her companion, Fabian Mendez of Brownstown.
A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Cathedral. Concluding services and burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Cheryl A. McGovern

Cheryl Ann McGovern, 49, of Central Point, Ore., a former Valley resident, died Wednesday. Mrs. McGovern was born in Toppenish and had lived in Prosser, where she worked for a local warehouse and in construction as a flagger. For the past eight years, she has made her home in Central Point.
Survivors include her parents, Paul and Velma Brown of Peyton, Colo.; a daughter, Amy Jo McReynolds; three sisters, Sandra Hewitt of Medford, Ore., Edie Newhouse of Grandview and Rebecca Rossmeisl of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and her companion, Terry Christiansen of Prosser.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. A graveside funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Grandview Cemetery.
Mary Burns Maxwell

Mary Burns Maxwell, 95, of Yakima died Tuesday at Chesterley Court. Mrs. Maxwell was born in Tacoma and came to Yakima at age 15 to become a postulant for the Sisters of Charity of Providence. She taught at St. Joseph's Elementary School and was also one of the founders of the Council Study Club.
Survivors include three sons, Alexander Maxwell of Yakima, Michael Maxwell of Camano Island, Wash., and Kevin Maxwell of Belmont, Calif.; a daughter, Rosemary Maxwell of Yakima; a brother, David Burns of Cave Creek, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A Mass to memorialize and celebrate her life will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 7 at St. Paul Cathedral. A brunch and reception will follow from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Woman's Century Club, 304 N. Second St. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Stephanie Elisabeth (Kastel) Keck, 48, of Tacoma died Oct. 18. Ms. Keck was born in Toppenish and grew up in Wapato. She was living in Tacoma and working as the osbud specialist for Pierce County.
Survivors include her mother, Henrietta Erlene Kastel of Yakima; three sisters, Carol Dalan and Julie Edens, both of Yakima, and Mariann Bosworth of Olympia; and a brother, David Kastel of Wenatchee.
Services are pending. Arrangements are by Oakwood Hills Funeral Chapel in Tacoma.
Arthur Borchardt

Arthur Ernest Walter Borchardt, 91, of Yakima died Oct. 25 in Yakima. He was born in Ramona, S.D., and attended Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy and Surgery in Iowa. He practiced medicine in Sunnyside from 1948 to 1984. He helped found and build Sunnyside General Hospital and Sunnyside Medical Center, and he founded Lower Valley Hospice.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel; two daughters, Judy Sinner of Selah and Kay Doggett of Bend, Ore.; a brother, Clayton Borchardt of Brookings, S.D.; and one grandson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home.

Betty Lou Oestreich, 80, of Kettle Falls, Wash., died Wednesday in Naches. She was born in Salem, Ore., and lived in Yakima, Long Beach, Wash., and Kettle Falls.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Pittner of Naches; two sisters, Mary Netling of Kettle Falls and Ann Mayhak of Yakima; a brother, William Dickens Jr. of Kettle Falls; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. A memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Cathedral, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Shaw & Sons.

Lena R. Beierle, 76, of Yakima died Friday in Yakima. She was born in Neosho, Mo., and later worked for the Coat Factory in Moxee, Chinook Mobile Lodge and Trail Wagons.
Survivors include her husband, Herb Beierle; six children, Faye Maibee, Eugene Owens, Shirley Owens, David Owens, Pete Beierle and Bobbi Wilmoth; six siblings, Evelyn, Cora, Mary, George, Irene and Jim; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Tues-day at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by concluding services at West Hill Memorial Park.
Allen Fortier

Allen Fortier, 81, of Selah died Saturday in Yakima. He was raised in Yakima and attended Gonzaga University. He lived in Spokane and Moscow, Idaho, where he attended the University of Idaho Law School. He returned to Yakima and practiced law for 33 years with Roberts, Kirschenman and Fortier. He moved to Selah in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Elinor Fortier of Selah; five children, Mary Brunelle and Marcia Lofland of Yakima, Mark Fortier of Olympia, Val Fortier of Pasco and Jon Fortier of Snohomish, Wash.; a brother, Phillip Fortier of Seattle; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory in Yakima.

Herman Bretzer, 94, of Yakima died Saturday at Summitview Healthcare Center. Mr. Bretzer was born in Lincoln, Neb.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela K. Ferguson of Yakima and Patricia L. Bretzer of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.
A service will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland next summer. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Jack Adelbert Pettie, 83, of Selah died Monday. Mr. Pettie was born in Selah and served in the Navy. He worked as a milkman.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Pettie of Selah; two sons, Jack Pettie of Georgia and David Marshall Pettie of Selah; three daughters, Judy Marie Russell, Linda Sue Quigley and Carleta Ann Teaford, all of Selah; a brother, James Aaron Pettie of Selah; a sister, Mary Lou Devoir of Richland; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no formal services. However, friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life at 1 p.m. Saturday at 2225 Selah Loop Road. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

Donald L. Quist, 87, of Yakima died Friday at Landmark Care Center. Mr. Quist was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a pipefitter.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzie and Joni; a brother, Stanley Quist; a sister, Arlyne Barnard; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

George William Simpson, 98, of Mabton died Sunday at home. Mr. Simpson was born in Mabton. He was a farmer and lived on the same land from birth until his death.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Simpson and John Simpson, both of Mabton; a daughter, Jean Hill of Kent, Wash.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Robert Elliot Bailey, 63, of Selah died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bailey was born in Massachusetts and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Richa Bailey of Selah; two sons, Darryl Bailey and Robert Bailey, both of Selah; a daughter, Tina Senters of Wiley City; his father and mother, Robert E. Bailey and Albina Bailey of Dudley, Mass.; a brother, Gene Bailey of Connecticut; a sister, Linda Madonna of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dawn Bronkhorst, 58, of Grandview died Sunday. Mrs. Bronkhorst was born in Goldendale. She was a nurse and worked for several Lower Valley hospitals and also St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy Shrontz and Summer Kinsey Ortega, both of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; her mother, Dorothy Bronkhorst of Grandview; a brother, Cecil Bronkhorst of Kennewick; two sisters, Cindy Thompson of Sunnyside and Maria Hill of Grandview; and three grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, also at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery.

Michael "Mike" Huntington, 59, of Union Gap died Sunday. Mr. Huntington was born in Seattle and moved to Yakima in 2006. He worked as a mechanic and foreman for an auto salvage business.
Survivors include his son, Michael Horning of Yakima; a daughter, Michelle Horning of Yakima; a stepson, Bill Wilson of Union Gap; a stepdaughter, Melissa Bales of Yakima; two sisters, Donna Papenbrock of Buckley, Wash., and Cheryl Zweekhorst of Bonnie Lake, Wash.; a brother, John Zweekhorst of Carbonado, Wash.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alma S. Palma, 52, of Toppenish died Friday. Mrs. Palma was born and raised in Toppenish. She worked over 20 years at Del Monte and most recently worked for Yakima Fruit in Wapato.

Palma of Toppenish; a son, Jesus Palma of Toppenish; two daughters, Alma Ochoa of Buena and Mia Ilene Castillo of Toppenish; seven sisters, Dora Hernandez and Mary Reyes, both of Yakima, Linda Silva of Toppenish, Yolonda Garcia and Anna Silva of Seattle, Maggie Mireles of Prosser and Juanita Mariscal of Yakima; three brothers, Rudy, Antonio and Gilbert Silva of Yakima; and seven grandchildren.

Lawrence (Larry) Earl Payne, 65, of Naches died Monday. Mr. Payne was born in Pomona, Calif., and moved to the Nile Valley in 1959. He worked as a chef at various places throughout the Valley.
Survivors include five sisters, Bonnie Detrick and Becky Lounsbury of the Nile, Joanne Coulter and Pixie Reandeau of Port Townsend, Wash., and Tessie Payne of Naches; and two brothers, Mike Payne of Vancouver, Wash., and Jeff Payne of Roslyn.
A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at the home of his sister, Becky, 7613 State Route 410. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Golda M. Russell

Golda M. Russell, 91, of Prosser died Sunday. Mrs. Russell was born in Beeler, Kan., and came to Washington state in 1937. She moved to Buckley, Wash., in 1953, where she began working at Valley Terrace Nursing Home and Valley West Retirement Home in Puyallup, retiring after 19 years. In 1992, she moved to Grandview.
Survivors include a daughter, Dana Jones of Grandview; four grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 11 at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Valley Life Baptist Church in Grandview. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.

Loyette Bartow Tulee, 48, of Toppenish died Tuesday in Yakima. Mrs. Tulee was born in Crescent City, Calif., and moved to the Yakima Valley in 2007. She worked as a beautician for many years and most recently as a truck driver for Yakama Forest Products.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Tulee of Toppenish; four sons, Fredrick Bartow, Juan Campos, Michael Campos and David Campos, all of McMinnville, Ore.; and a brother, Fred Bartow Jr. of Vancouver, Wash.
Dressing service will be at 1 p.m. today at Merritt Funeral Home, followed by overnight service at the Tulee family home in Toppenish. They will depart the family home at 10 a.m. Thursday for an overnight service at the 1910 Shaker Church in White Swan. They will then depart the 1910 Shaker Church at 9 a.m. Friday for an overnight service at Smith River Shaker Church in Smith River, Calif. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Smith River Shaker Church. Burial will follow in Howonquet Cemetery.

Richard "Dick" Dale Toner, 82, of Yakima died Monday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Toner was born in Detroit and served in the Navy. He was a resident of Yakima County for 76 years and worked for 27 years as an automotive instructor at Perry Technical Institute. He also owned a NAPA Auto Parts store for nine years.
Survivors include three sons, Brad Toner of Richland, Scott Toner of Yakima and Mike Toner of Fond de Lac, Wis.; a daughter, Sherry Overton of Thermopolis, Wyo.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, also at Shaw and Sons. Concluding burial with military Honors will be in West Hills Memorial Park.
