Ralph Shaddox

Ralph Shaddox, 75, of Selah died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shaddox was born in Jasper, Ark., and came to Yakima in 1946. He worked for Tree Top for 30 years, with his last job as a filter operator.
Survivors include a son, Tom Shaddox of Los Angeles; three daughters, Linda Shaddox of Yakima, Diana Standfill of Cowiche and Sharon Boen of Ephrata, Wash.; two sisters, Mae Rector and Stella Niles, both of Yakima; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, also at Keith and Keith. Burial to follow in West Hills Memorial Park.
Delores D. (Tahkeal) Whalawitsa

Delores D. (Tahkeal) Whalawitsa, 72, of Nespelem, Wash., died Thursday in Spokane. She was born in the Yakima Valley at Satus and moved to Nespelem nearly 50 years ago. She worked at the Nespelem School District as a teachers aide.
Survivors include four children, Lareesa, Cheryl, Lewis Jr. and DeeAnna Whalawitsa, all of Nespelem; a brother, Lawrence "Tony" Tahkeal of Oklahoma; a sister, Muriel George of Goldendale; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Dressing services were held Friday at the Toppenish Creek Longhouse in White Swan. Overnight services were Friday with burial at the Yohmahet Cemetery in Union Gap. Arrangements were by Colonial Funeral Home.
Catherine J. Coe

Catherine J. Fuchs Coe, 89, of Yakima died Friday at Garden Village Care Center.
Mrs. Coe was born in Odebolt, Iowa, and was raised in Parker Heights and Wapato. She worked in retail jewelry sales in Yakima for 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Ann Ebberson of Pasco and Sandra Jean Bourgeois of Wapato; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.
Larry M. Boles

Larry M. Boles, 61, of Yakima died Aug. 21 at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mr. Boles was born in High Point, N.C. He is survived by a son, Shannon Boles of High Point; and two sisters, Barbara Bundy of Westville, N.C., and Lynn Rehm of Scottsdale, Ariz.
No formal services are planned. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.
Edward A. Nelson

Edward Allen Nelson, 78, of Wapato died Friday in Yakima. Mr. Nelson was born in Kohala, Hawaii. He moved to Prosser in 1934, and after serving in the Army for two years, he and his wife started a dental practice in Wapato.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, two daughters, Sarah Hall of Everett, Wash., and Melissa Smith of Bothell, Wash.; two brothers, Carl Nelson of Blaine, Wash., and Richard Nelson of Prosser; and a sister, Miriam Poage of Yakima.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Cleveland Cemetery near Bickleton. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Yakima. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home.
Alta May Schlosser

Alta May Schlosser, 84, of Grandview died Thursday in Grandview.
Mrs. Schlosser was born in Sparks, Neb., and moved to Richland when she was a child. She later moved to Grandview and worked as a home caregiver. She helped found the Senior Chore Service of the Lower Yakima Valley.
Survivors include five children, Cleo Ludwig of Redmond, Ore., Walter Schlosser of Grandview, John "Dan" Schlosser and Carolyn Estabrook, both of Sunnyside, and Donald Schlosser of Midland, Texas; four brothers, Othel Butler, Wesley LaMoine Butler, Roland Butler and Burtis Butler; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Irene Castillo, 72, of Yakima died Friday at Parkside Nursing Home in Union Gap.
Mrs. Castillo was born in Tecolotlin, Mexico.
She is survived by three daughters, Mercedes Garibaldo, Celia Garibaldo and Maria Garibaldo, all of Yakima; her mother, Maria De Le Lus Castillo of Tecolotlin; a brother, Lucio Martines of Tecolotlin; a sister, Sarah Martinez of Tecolotlin; 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Philip C. Salzman

Philip C. Salzman of Union Gap, 86, died Saturday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mr. Salzman was born in Berkeley, Calif., and lived in Union Gap for 57 years. He worked for Valley Neon and Heath Northwest sign companies, worked as a volunteer firefighter for many years and served on the City Council.
Survivors include his wife, Fontelle Salzman; two daughters, Denise Jones of Yakima and Judy Shives of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Suzanne Ramsey of Greenbank, Wash., two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ricardo P. Sandoval, 66, of Toppenish died Saturday at home. Mr. Sandoval was born in Laredo, Texas. He began working for the Wapato School District in 1979 and retired after 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, Aurora Sandoval; 10 children, Robert, John, Dallas, Michael, Melanie, Michelle, Melissa, Mariah, Andrea and Corinthia, all of Toppenish; a brother, Manuel Sandoval of Toppenish; two sisters, Juanita Sandoval and Rosa Sanchez, both of Toppenish; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Viewing will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. The funeral is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday and at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church in Toppeninsh. Burial will be in the Reservation Community Memorial Park, Wapato.

Ella May Miller, 70, of Toppenish died Saturday in Yakima. She was born in Toppenish and worked at Kraffs Clothing for many years. She also worked in billing for the medical industry.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Miller Jr. and Kevin Miller, both of Toppenish; two daughters, Debbie Cook and Cindy Stout, both of Selah; a sister, Dolly Schutz of Yakima; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Emma J. Bates, 93, of Yakima died Friday in Selah. She was born in Clyde, Alberta, Canada, and lived in Yakima for most of her life.

Greg Blondin, 61, of Bridgeport, Wash., died Aug. 24 in Gig Harbor, Wash. Mr. Blondin was born in Yakima and served in the Army.

Ronald M. Foust, 71, of Zillah died Friday at home. Mr. Foust was born in Los Angeles and served in the Air Force. He moved to the Yakima Valley in 1963 and was a sales and service representative for printing equipment.
Survivors include his wife, Janis Foust of Zillah; a daughter, Ronda Ide of Zillah; a son, Rick Foust of Seattle; a brother, Roger Foust of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Arlene Diamond of Dublin, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.
J. William Huber Jr.

J. William "Bill" Huber Jr., 62, of Zillah died Saturday at Toppenish Community Hospital. Mr. Huber was born in Sidney, Mont., and moved with his family from Wapato to Ellensburg in 1965. He was a carpenter, involved in the family construction business. Fifteen years ago he moved to Zillah.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy of Zillah; a son, Anthony Huber of Houston; and four siblings, Fred Huber of Kittitas, Dick Huber of Selah, Kathy Gonzales of Port Angeles, Wash., and Ron Huber of Boulder City, Nev.
Following burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellensburg, a memorial gathering is being planned with details to be announced. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.

Gerald Dean Moore, 81, of Yakima died Saturday. Mr. Moore was born in Wichita, Kan., and worked for the railroad transportation system as a switchman.
Survivors include two brothers, Mel Moore of Naches and Jack Moore of Boise, Idaho.

Jasa Brianne Smith, infant daughter of Glenna Jo Smith and Brandon Smith of Yakima, was born and died Aug. 25.
Besides her parents, survivors include a brother, Garrett Smith of Yakima; maternal grandmother, Lucille Cox of Hillsboro, Ore.; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Smith of Yakima.

Timothy Raymond Hager, 42, of Yakima died suddenly after a bicycle accident in Terrace Heights. Mr. Hager was born in Glendive, Mont. He worked for 20 years for AgriBeef/Washington Beef and was the director of finance and accounting at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Kerry Hager; two children, Madison and Ryan Hager, both of Yakima; his parents, Raymond and Carol Hager of Selah; and two brothers, Todd Hager and Tracy Hager of Yakima.
A vigil will be at 6 p.m. tonight at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral will be at noon Thursday, also at Langevin-Mussetter.

Lola Lee Schulz, 69, of Yakima died Friday. Mrs. Schulz was born in Watseka, Ill.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Johnson; a stepson, Kurt Schulz; two stepdaughters, Lisa Garcia and Erin Schulz; two brothers, Linard and Willard; and seven grandchildren.
