Alice “Marguerite” MacKeen
Alice Williams was born in Dawson, Yukon Territory, Canada, Dec. 18, 1905. She weighed 1.5 lbs. She died September 20, 2001. Her husband, Arnold of 58 years, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Arden Horgan and her husband, Dick; the beloved grandmohter of Jody Horgan, Martin (Bev) Horgan, Kathleen (Robert) Larson and Christopher (Julie) Horgan; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept. 27th at 1:30 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 310 North K Sreet, Tacoma. The family re- quests in lieu of flowers, remem- brances are made to the Friends of HHC and Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital.

Lawrence E. Woods
Born June 19, 1940, passed away Sept. 6, 2001. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thank you to the people at the apartments. His stepdaughters, Tanya and Candy, wish him great peace and always remember “There’s a crazy little cat named Joe and he’s cool.”

Harry E. Morgan, Jr.
Born September 3, 1921. Harry Morgan passed away September 21, 2001 following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Vivian; three sons, David (Toodie) Morgan, Stephen Morgan and Michael (Colleen) Morgan; and four grandchildren, Kathryn, Scott, Daniel and Christine. A third generation Washingtonian, Harry grew up in Longview where he was Senior Class President of R.A. Long High School. Following graduation from Stanford University, Harry served as a bomb disposal officer for the U.S. Navy in the Mediterranean during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism. After World War II, Harry joined Weyerhaeuser Company and retired in 1983, after 37 years with the company including 16 years as Senior Vice President of all operations and timberlands worldwide. While at Weyer- haeuser Company, Harry presented the plan (that was implemented in 1966) for “high yield” reforestation of harvested timberlands. Active in the community, Harry served on the boards of First Interstate Bank of Washington; Pacific Medical Center; Omark Industries; Telephone Utilities; Stanford Psychiatry Association; Stanford Buck Club; Weyerhaeuser Foundation; Marrakesh Country Club; Health Care Purchasers Association; Federal Mortgage Commission; Pacific Lutheran University; Charles Wright Academy; Tacoma Art Museum; Higher Education Facilities Commission; U.S. State Department Commission for Canadian/American Relations; Nelson Trust; and Lakewold Foundation. Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Sept. 27, 2001 at 3:00 PM in the Celebration of Life Center’s Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park. Charles “Troy” Shenk
Charles “Troy” Shenk, age 36 years, was killed in a tragic auto accident on Tuesday, September 18th, 2001 in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he resided. Troy was born January 23rd, 1965 in Olympia, WA. Troy grew up in University Place, attended Curtis High School and graduated from Clinton High School in Mass. At the time of his death, he was em- ployed as Special Finance Manager for Randy Hansen’s Isuzu. Troy was an avid sports fan, played soccer, raced cars and loved to travel. For many years, he counseled in prisons and in his community to alcoholics. His home was a haven to anyone in need. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church where he led Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. He was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Ruth Puntches Reeves. He leaves behind a son, Nicholas, age 12; a daughter, Samantha, age 10 of Springfield, MA; his wife, Lisa; step-children, Danielle and Shelby of Twin Falls, Idaho; his mother, Lorna Heiser of Tacoma; father, Charles Shenk and brother, Robert “JJ” of Huntington Beach, CA; sisters, Sherry Duncan of Graham, WA; Darcy Kanar of Puyallup and Jodi Gardner of Kauai, Hawaii. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Della Durant and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27th, 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Valley Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma, followed by a reception.

Jerry Pettis
Jerry Pettis, born 6/26/45 in Faith, SD. passed away 9/22/01. Father to Justin, Dustin and Jeri Ann Pettis, all of Kent, WA. He has 2 grandchildren, Josh and Makali Ann Pettis. Loving husband to Patti Ann Pettis for 35 years. Survived by mother Neva Boeli and stepfather Orvie Boeli, SD; brothers Darrell, SD and Gary, Tucson, AZ; and sisters Renee’ Dollhan and Dala Schaub, TX. Jerry was never more at home than while traveling in his 5th wheel or hunting in the woods. He will be missed by family and a multitude of friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 9/27 at Faith Baptist Church, 25636 140th SE, Kent, WA, at 10:30 AM. Immediately following there will be a gathering at Meridian Grange Hall, 15422 SE 272nd/Kent Kangley Rd. at 12:30 PM. Kenneth W. Lorenzen
Kenneth W. Lorenzen, 64, of Spanaway, died Sat., Sept. 22, 2001. Ken was born July 5, 1937 in Holland, Ohio. He served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1980. For the past 17 years, Ken has worked for the Bethel School District. Ken is survived by a son, Kenneth W. Lorenzen, II of Mt. View, CA; a daughter, Pamela Faith Lorenzen of Rancho Cordova, CA; grandson, Kenneth W. Lorenzen, III also of Mt. View, CA and sisters, Caroline Krowaski of Toledo, Ohio and Shirley Hampton of Houghston, CA. Memorial services will be Wed., Sept. 26, at 2:00 PM at Fir Lane Chapel. Military honors will follow in Fir Lane Memorial Park.

Lloyd Edward Davis
Lloyd E. Davis, retired MSGT. U.S. Army, is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Davis; a son, Lloyd E. Davis III, active duty U.S. Army Germany; and three daughters: Samaj A. James of L.A., CA; Macara C. (Arthur) Underwood and Breyon J. James, both of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Marcus, Stephanie and Jacob Davis of Spokane, WA; Darin, Ahmari and A’Lira Underwood of Tacoma, WA and Asai James Vicente of L.A., CA; two brothers, Hugh and William Davis of Texas and a sister, Izetta (Marshall) Day of Michigan. Also survived by a host of relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, James and Caro Bell Davis, two brothers, James and Billy Ted Davis and sisters, Helen Wilson and Gloria Bentley. Mary W. Weeks
Mary Walker Weeks was born in Cabool, Missouri, August 11, 1912. She was reared in Pleasanton, Kansas, where she graduated from high school in 1930. In 1930 she also began her lifelong educational career by teaching in a rural Kansas school. Along with her mother, brother and two sisters, Mary moved to Burns, Oregon and then to Ellensburg, Washington where she attended Ellensburg Normal School, later to become Central Washington University. Following her training at the normal school, she taught in Seattle until marrying Orville D. Weeks, a teacher from Wapato, Washington, in 1937. During their 32-year marriage, Orville and Mary taught in the Meridian, Kelso, Franklin Pierce and South Kitsap school districts. In latter years of her teaching career, Mrs. Weeks returned to Central Washington University and earned her bachelor’s degree. Besides her educational pursuits, Mary was active in the Methodist and Presbyterian churches, and maintained lifelong interests in traveling, pinochle and knitting. Shortly after Orville’s death, Mary moved to Enumclaw to spend more time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Dr. Duane Weeks and his wife Fay, granddaughter Karla McCowin and her husband Peter, grandsons Douglas Weeks, Russell Weeks and his wife Kelley, and Daniel Weeks and his wife Danielle. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Zachary and Kaitlin McCowin, Corissa, Trevor and Ryan Weeks; and her sister, Mrs. Joy Stiegler of Colorado. Visitation will be held at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 25th from Noon until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw, followed by burial at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to an educational fund of your choice.

Robert Allen Odne
Robert Allen Odne of Federal Way succumbed to a brain tumor on September 22, 2001, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Ann; his sons, Daniel and David; his mother, Betty; his sisters, Linda Robertson (Gene), Susan Studhalter and Sharon Breihof (Dan); and many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Odne. Bob was born in Seattle on April 11, 1952. He was a graduate of Chief Sealth High. Bob earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance at Washington State University and a Master’s of Business Administration at Oregon State University. Bob was most recently a Cost Accounting Supervisor at Boeing, where he was employed for 23 years. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 7 PM, Thursday, September 27, 2001 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 2400 SW 344th Street, Federal Way. Viewing will be held Wednesday, 12 noon-5 pm, and Thursday, 9 am-12 noon, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave. SW, Seattle. The family suggests memorials to the American Brain Tumor Association, the American Red Cross, or Light of Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Edwin H. Taschner
Age 78, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Sept. 21, 2001. Ed was born in Marquette County, WI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ed settled in Seattle, WA after the war and became a successful builder. In 1971 Ed moved to Phoenix, AZ where he built strip malls and condo housing projects. He retired in 1994. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Barry (Dotty) Taschner of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Pamela (Marshall) Scattone of Tacoma; ex-wife, Rose Tashcner; loving companion Doreen Oswalt; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Harvey; sisters, Edna and Betty. We will miss him greatly. All who knew Ed will be forever touched by his cheerful smile and happy disposition, his steadfast resolve to do the right thing and his unselfishness and caring nature. Donald Bruce Michaelson
Age 80, of Lakebay, WA passed away at home Saturday, September 15, 2001. He served in the Army Air Corp as a pilot during WWII flying supplies over the Hump between India and China. He was a member of the Lions and the American Legion and love golf and fishing. He is survived by his son Ric Michaelson (Marcia) and his daughter Dale Johnson, all of Lakebay, WA, and 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. No services will be held.
