Rod C. Kaufman
July 26, 1948 - Sept. 26, 2001
There is a lot to say about such a wonderful person as Rod Kaufman. His life on earth was not long lived, but he touched so many lives. I always said that he knew everybody; everywhere you would go there were souls Rod had touched. He was a kind and giving person whose mission in life seemed to be to help others. He was always there to help anyone in need, a very hard worker, and a very good and kind man. I will always remember Rod sitting at a table in a restaurant with pen or pencil in hand, writing on a napkin, quietly discussing a plan or invention he had in his mind, or out on some property working so very hard on a logging job he had. In the 25 years I, myself, knew Rod, I never once heard him utter an unkind word about anyone. He always looked for the good in people, which was amazing. When I met Rod in 1977, I was a working and struggling single mother of a son with no father figure, Rod helped me in many ways. I remember him taking my son and teaching him things about machinery or sandblasting, and just simply being a friend to both of us. He would show up, look around and see what needed to be done, split firewood and stack it on the porch, knowing that the woodstove was our only source of heat, and when I would come home from work I could tell Rod had been there. Once Rod was visiting, and he discovered that my propane cook stove had a leak in my propane tank, which was located under my old farmhouse. He explained that it was heavier than air and was building up and was like a time bomb. It needed instant attention and Rod, with many ways and means, removed the tank from under the house and set it up outside, all safe and sound. This world was a better place because Rod Kaufman was here on earth with us. He was a true gift from God. He will always be loved and remembered and greatly missed! This is written by just one of the many lives Rod Kaufman touched. I know there are hundreds who feel the same. Rod has requested that no services be held, so upholding that last request, he will be remembered in our hearts. Thank you, Rod, for simply being you! Love, Donna Ree Rodriguez.

Aasmund (Cris) Kristoffersen
Loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away 1 year ago today, September 27, 2000. The Day God Called You Home God knows that you were suffering That the hills were hard to climb So He gently closed your eyes And whispered, Peace Be Thine In tears we watched you suffer We watched you fade away Our Hearts were nearly broken You fought so hard to stay But when we saw you sleeping So peacefully free of pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again. It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone A part of us went with you The day God called you home. We lovingly remember you every day, Elsie, Karen, John (Bernie), Anne Marie, and grandchildren Ann, Nikki, Erik and Kristoffer.
