Howard Eugene Sollie, 82, passed away Friday. Howard, a lifetime resident of Tacoma and a graduate of Lincoln High School, is survived by sister, Mrs. Margaret Hopkins of Seattle; and niece, Mrs. William Lloyd (Carol) from Whidbey Island; and numerous relatives in Norway. Louis D. Bratrud
Louis D. Bratrud was born September 27, 1915 in Roswell, S. Dak. He passed away April 2, 1998 in Tacoma. Louis loved to refinish furniture, antique furniture, and making woodcrafts. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie L. (Stan) Welna; his son, William (Janette L.) Bratrud; 2 sisters, Evelyn Aldorfer of Osakis, MN. and Thelma Foss of Lakewood, WA.; 4 grandchildren, Michael W. (Kym) Davis, Troy L. Davis, Tiffany A. Bratrud, and Eric W. Bratrud; and 4 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9th in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Marian Elizabeth Taylor
Marian Elizabeth Taylor, 86, passed away April 1, 1998 at Colonial Vista Convalescent Center in Wenatchee. She was born in Mackey, ID. and had been a long time Tacoma resident moving to Wenatchee 5 years ago. She grew up in Maytown, WA. and graduated from Olympia H.S. and Central Washington College in Ellensburg. She taught school in a 1-room school house. She also owned a knitting shop in Olympia and worked for the State Dept. In later years she substituted for the Tacoma School District. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Taylor and her parents Edward and Willa Hoag. She is survived by her son, Bill Jr. (Julie), of Wenatchee; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Vance, of Edgewood; sister, Charlotte Hall of Eugene, OR; 4 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 2 nephews; 1 niece. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 7 at Mountain View Funeral Home, Tacoma.

Rayma Audrey (Karp) Page
Rayma Audrey (Karp) Page, 79, of Enumclaw, died April 4, 1998 in her home. Audrey was born in Seattle, WA. July 6, 1918. She grew up in Yakima. She then attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She worked several years as a Registered Nurse. Preceded in death by first husband, Wilfred Karp; son, Raleigh E. Karp and brothers, Glen Prather and Vernon Prather. Survivors include: Husband, Robert R. Page of the home; son, Dennis A. Karp, and his wife Marsha of Salem, OR.; stepdaughters, Marit Page of Enumclaw, Marion Markey and Margaret Francis of Wasilla, AK.; Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 11, 1998 at Week's Whitmore Chapel. Family requests memorials be made to: Unity Church of Federal Way or Medic One of Enumclaw.

Al Diangco
August 4, 1952 - June 27, 1998
On Saturday, June 27, we lost not only our best friend, but a best friend to many. Al passed away unexpectedly and leaves many to mourn his death. His kindness and generosity were unparalleled and we are all left with profound sadness. Al was employed by the postal service and was a window clerk at the Evergreen station. Preceded in death by his parents, Delfin and Noemi. He leaves brothers and sisters, Josie, Tony, Ester, June and Paul. Also nieces, nephews and grandchildren, special friends Derek and Linda Williams, and family and many other friends. Viewing will be Thursday, July 2 from 12-7pm, with a Service at 2:00pm, at Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle. Burial will be in the Philippines. Rest in peace Uncle Al, we love you.

Dorothy May (Carty) Bonnell
Dorothy Bonnell, age 74, died suddenly at her home Monday evening, June 29, 1998. Born in Tacoma, April 2, 1924 to William and Mabel (Underwood) Carty. She was the wife of Kieth Bonnell, who passed away in 1987. Dorothy was a very generous mother and grandmother with a loving family, enjoying a visit from some member of her close knit family daily. Her great joy was Bingo, which she called her "job". She went to "work" daily and had just won a "bonus" the day before. She was a lifelong resident of Tacoma and Spanaway. She and Kieth enjoyed card parties, many family trips to the ocean for clams and crabs, and four-wheeling, belonging to the Tacoma Webfooters for many years. She is survived by her 4 children and spouses: Bonny and Doug Turner, Robert and Teri Bonnell, Larry and Carole Bonnell, and Gerri and Pete Rogge, all of Spanaway; grandchildren Brenda Bowers, Larry Lee, Kim Currier, Eric, Karl and Kris Rogge, Dean Bonnell, Dawn Bonnell and Rob Bonnell; 14 great grandchildren. Grandson Robert Lee preceded her in death. Her request was to be cremated with her ashes sprinkled on the Mt. View Cemetery Rose Garden, as was her husband Kieth. The family will be having a memorial gathering Sunday, July 5, 2 p.m. at the home of Robert Bonnell for friends and family. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home, 584-0252.

Florence Cline, 89, of Randle, died Sunday, June 28, 1998. She was born August 13, 1908 in Tenino. Florence is survived by 10 children, 2 sisters, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Thursday, July 2 at 1:00 PM at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway. Viewing will be Wednesday, 1-7 PM at Fir Lane Funeral Home.

Harry "Dusty" Chatfield
Harry "Dusty" Chatfield, age 80, a resident of Coeur d`Alene, ID, died Monday, June 29, 1998 at Pinewood Care Center. He was born Feb. 12, 1918 in Harrison, ID, to Harry and Wilma Chatfield. He was raised in Lane, ID. He graduated from the Rose Lake High School class of 1935. Harry served in the U.S. Army in WWII as part of the D-Day Invasion, serving overseas until the war ended. He married Marjorie Richie in August of 1946 in Coeur d`Alene. They moved to Tacoma in 1964, where he owned and operated Chatfield Boat Building. Harry made commercial fishing boats for the Gulf of Alaska Commercial Fishermen. He was preceded in death by wife Marjorie in 1987. Survived by his brother Raymond Chatfield, Coeur d`Alene. Funeral service Friday, July 3, 9:30 am at Coeur d`Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Coeur d`Alene Memorial Gardens.

Helen P. (Honey) Stuhr, age 93, lifelong resident of Sumner area, died June 29, 1998 in Puyallup. Mother of Richard Stuhr of Sequim and Mary Williams of Sumner; sister to Josephine Barry of Enumclaw; six grandchildren; one great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, Lionel, in 1971. Jack W. Buck, 75, died 6-29-98. He was the loving husband of Mary Joan for 53 years. He is survived by wife Mary Joan; sons, Paul Edward, David Lawrence (Gretchen), Joe (Pat), and Charles Christopher Buck; daughter Mary Claire Arriola; sisters Claire Carbone and Doris Hawkey; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Jack was ordained a Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church in July of 1977. Jack most recently served as deacon at St. Joseph's Slovak Catholic Church. Jack started, built and directed Saint Ann's Nursing Home in Juneau, Alaska. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, So. 34th and Tacoma Avenue. Michael D. Jackson
Michael D. Jackson passed away suddenly on June 26, 1998. Michael was a long time resident of Tacoma. He was the loving son of Beverly and Robert Jackson.
