She donated the land that the church is built on. Millie was very involved in her church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, and baking. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Milo, 2 sons, Buck and Gus, 6 grandchildren Jerry, Mike Shawn, Gabe, Kenny, Baby Girl Covington, 2 son in laws, Bill and Emery, and 2 daughter in laws Vi and Jean. Millie lived all her life at Ford. Vigil service will be held at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church, Monday, March 15, 1999, 7:00 PM . Nellie E. Allison age 77 of Spokane, WA died on Thursday, June 15, 2000 at Moscow, ID and was born on March 22, 1923 at Inchelium, WA. Survivors include Son Steve Allison Helotes, TX Son Glen Allison Tum Tum, WA Son Harry Allison Loon Lake, WA Son Tom Allison Gillette, WY Daughter Judy Armstrong Oakwood, TX Daughter Janie Paparazzo Tensed, ID Daughter Helen Knight Boardman, OR Son Robert Allison Springdale, WA . 37 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren . Nellie left Inchelium at age 18. She lived in Chewelah from 1968 to 1986. Nellie and her husband Jim owned and operated a sawmill in Valley, Washington from 1975 to 1983. Nellie moved to Colville in 1986, and moved to Spokane in 1995. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 1983. She was a member of the Eagles. Nellie enjoyed crafts, bingo, and gardening. For many years they would travel to California each winter and pick fruit.. Banks, James E.

James E. Banks, age 55 died August 13, 1999 at Elko, Nevada where he was employed for the last 3 months. Jim was born to John and Anna Banks in Valley, Washington September 20, 1943. Jim attended school at Jump Off Joe, Chewelah, and Valley. Jim joined the Marine Corps in 1961 serving two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He retired from the Army Reserves two years ago. He was a surveyor and resident in the Silver Valley/Osborn, Idaho area for over 15 years. Jim is survived by his wife Barbara, at the home; mother Anna Banks, Chewelah: sons Kenneth, John, and Bill; daughters, Mary Ann, Jennie and Lovelin Raines, step daughter, brother John(Dan) Clarkston and sisters Merna Hixson, Chewelah, Lois Taylor, Silverdale, WA, JoAnn Brown, Deer Park, WA Mary Sims (Twin Sister), Chewelah, and Cora Weber, Colville, WA; 13 grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Banks, and nephew Cash LeDuc. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 18, 1999 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church, Chewelah, WA. Clarence Martin Brashler age 88 of Chewelah, WA died on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at Chewelah, WA and was born on January 7, 1911 at Dexter, NM. Survivors include Son Bud Brashler Richland, OR Son Don Brashler Chewelah, WA Son Doug Brashler Chewelah, WA Brother Bill Brashler Marysville, WA Sister Pauline Wells Green Valley, AZ, 10 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren 5 great-great-grandchildren Clarence and Anna came to Chewelah from Marysville in 1972. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1992. Clarence worked for Scott Paper Company in Everett, Washington. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Chewelah. Clarence loved to fish and hunt.. Donald and Marlene moved to Chewelah from Kent Washington 15 months ago. They lived in Kent, Washington since 1991. Prior to that they lived in New Jersey. Donald enjoyed history, collected and sold stamps. Irene Lucille Blomstrom age 78 of Chewelah, WA died on Wednesday, December 2, 1998 at Chewelah, WA and was born on March 21, 1920 at Swea City, IA. Survivors include Husband, of 56 years Albert Blomstrom, Chewelah, WA; Son, Bob & wife Judy Blomstrom, Chewelah, WA; Son, Marvin Blomstrom, Chewelah, WA; daughter, Mary Ann & husband Jerry Pankratz, Mead, WA; Brother, Melvin Peterson, Watkins, MN; several nieces & nephews , 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Irene was the daughter of Albin and Cennia Peterson. She was baptized April 11, 1920 by Reverend Johan Pearson. Irene attended Sunday School and was confirmed by Raymond Swanson in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended the Luthur League and Young Women's missionary Society. Irene attended Swea City High School and graduated in 1939. She lived with her parents until she married Albert Blomstrom on March 29, 1942. Irene and Albert have lived in the Chewelah area for the past 16 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and yard sales. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Monday, December 7, 1998, 11:00 AM at Chewelah, Washington with Pastor Robin Pizanti officiating. John L. Beck

John L. Beck age 83 of Deer Park, WA died on Friday, November 27, 1998 at Spokane, WA and was born on August 2, 1915 at Watrouse, Saskatchewan, Canada. Survivors include Wife, Valaira Beck, Deer Park, WA; Son, John Beck, East Wenatchee, WA; Son, Walter Beck, Chattaroy, WA; Daughter, Mary Louise Sheets, Deer Park, WA; Daughter, Diane Whitford, Yakima, WA; Sister, Jane Miley, Yakima, WA, 7 grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren. John's family moved to Spokane when he was three years old. He moved to Springdale at the age of twelve. John has lived in the Springdale area for 70 years. For the past year he has lived in Deer Park. John has farmed most of his life. He worked for Northwest Magnesite for many years and then worked road construction for about 20 years. John and Valaira have been married 57 years. They completed building their own home in the early 1970's. John enjoyed woodworking and collecting miniature tractors. Dale (Bud) James Bechtel, Major USAF Ret. age 79 of Addy, WA died on Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at Addy, WA and was born on June 6, 1920 at Bellevue, WA. Survivors include Son Albert J. Bechtel Seattle, WA Son Brian D. Bechtel Monroe, WA Brother Allen W. Bechtel Kirkland, WA Brother Donald H. Bechtel Seattle, WA Sister Joanne A. Black Kennewick, WA Sister Ruby M. Flexer Bellevue, WA Sister Virginia R. Lang Redmond, WA. Many nieces & nephews, Dear friend & company Gladys Huebner Addy, WA 3 grandchildren 1 great-grandchildren. Bud was the son of Issac L. and Ethel Rose Bechtel. He came to the the Addy area in 1969. During WW II he served in the 11th Squadron, 60th Troup Carrier Group, stationed in Brindisi, Italy. Bud was a member of the V.F.W. Lake 60th Troop Carrier Reunion Group Washington Post #2995, the Seattle Post Intelligencer Retiree's Club. There will be no services at Bud's request. Survivors include Husband Tommy Bourcy Loon Lake, WA Parents Ralph and Dona Jacobson Spokane, WA Son Jody Eldridge San Diego, CA Son Scott & wife Misty Eldridge San Diego, CA Son William Eldridge San Diego, CA Daughter Heidi Taylor Spokane, WA Brother Ralph & wife Jackie Jacobson Walla Walla, WA Sister Linda & husband Gene Rucker Usk, WA Grandchildren Kaitlen, Shianne, & Deonna Eldridge San Diego, CA Grandchildren Justin, Amanda, & Travis Taylor Loon Lake, WA Step son Ben & wife Christina Bourcy Biloxi, MS. Christina died at home after a battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. She has been married to Tom for 20 years. They came to Loon Lake from Spokane, where she lived all her life, in 1996. Christina was a member of the Loon Lake Assembly of God Church and a longtime seasonal resident of Silver Beach Resort on Waitts Lake.. Minnie (Mae) Mae Blatt age 89 of Springdale, WA died on Thursday, March 16, 2000 at Chewelah, WA and was born on September 9, 1910 at Springdale, WA. Survivors include Son Bill & wife Ann Blatt Edmonds, WA Daughter Ida & husband Dan Edmonds Valley, WA 12 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren 5 great-great-grandchildren Mae's father, James Judy came to Springdale in 1889 and was one of the early homesteaders. Mae grew up in the Springdale area. Her husband, Charles Blatt farmed in the Forrest Center area for many years, later she returned to Springdale. The last 2 years she lived at Chewelah. She loved gardening and raising flowers inside and outside. Mae loved sewing, crocheting, and other handicrafts. She attended church at Crossroads Community Church, was a charter member of Camas Valley Grange, and attended Springdale Women's Club when able. Mae was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson, Raymond C. Anderson.. Funeral service will be held at Schanzenbach Funeral Home, Saturday, March 25, 2000, 2:00 PM at Chewelah, Washington with Pastor Stan Chambers officiating. Survivors include Son Arnold Bocker Addy, WA 5 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren. Hazel and John were married August 8, 1936 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They farmed there until they moved to Maple Valley, Washington in 1951. Hazel cooked in local restaurants there. They moved to the Addy area 26 years ago, and have lived at Chewelah the past 24 years. Hazel was a member of the Addy Homemakers and the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, cooking, and baking.. She attended school at Forrest Center and Springdale. Deane had 4 sons, Charles, Calvin, Robert, and Gerald from a previous marriage. In 1932 Deane married Fred Buche Sr. They farmed in Camas Valley where they raised their Children. In 1959 they retired to the town of Springdale. She lived 28 years at the Chewelah Manor, and the last 4 years at Beverly Rehabilitation Center in Spokane. Deane was a member of the Camas Valley Women's Club, Loon Lake Moose Lodge, and a 50 year member of the Camas Valley Grange. She attended Calvary Baptist Church at Chewelah. Deane was preceded in death by her husband Fred, and 3 sons.. Survivors include Wife Hazel Burgess Summit Valley, WA Son Vince Burgess Summit Valley, WA Son Marvin Burgess, Jr. Colville, WA Daughter Nancy Holtzclaw Summit Valley, WA Son Ben Burgess Summit Valley, WA Step son Earl "Butch" Groeper Roberta, GA Step son Raymond Groeper Spokane, WA Step daughter Mary Burgess Moses Lake, WA Step daughter Janyce Jermane Spokane, WA Brother Alvin Burgess Moses Lake, WA Brother Norman Burgess Seattle, WA 27 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren. Marvin started dairy farming in the Summit Valley area in 1951. He married Hazel May 9, 1959 at Colville. They retired from farming 6 years ago. Marvin attended Summit Valley Community Church. He enjoyed watching his kids and grand kids play sports. Marvin played softball for the Summit Valley Community Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Todd.
