Larry Lee Dean, age 61, of Richland, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at his home.
Larry was born in Richland on September 23, 1945, in Richland, Washington to John W. Sr. and Thada Dean. He married
Linda Lee Robinson on September 23, 1967 in El Paso Robles, California.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very caring person and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was a Columiba High School graduate and was a contributor to the Sandstorm newsletters. He worked at the Hanford Site for over 30 years. He was the owner/operator (in his spare-time) at C&D; Excavating and the Suntannery in Kennewick.
Honorably discharged in 1969 from the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War and he was devoted to his country and his community.
He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, sitting around a camp fire with family and friends. He also loved to his annual hunting trips with just the guys, BBQs anytime someone was around, working on old and new cars, working with wood, building things, and every Saturday at the Farmer's market.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter and son-in-law Annette and Chris Elliott of Kennewick, WA; mother-in-law Betty Robinson, and brother-in-law Kenneth Robinson of Richland, WA; 3 Brothers, John W Dean and wife Lucy of Hawaii, Jerry H. Dean of Kennewick, WA, and Carl W. Dean and wife Marcia of Benton City, WA.; 6 Sisters, Ann Simmons, Alice Durham, Connie O'Neil and husband Jerry, and Ginger Kidder and husband Ron, all of Richland, Ruth Tempke and Debbi Brown and husband Terry of Ephrata, WA. Numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother; father-in-law, James E. K. Robinson; 4 Brothers, Donald B., James M., Bennett J., Robert G. Sr.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Einan's Funeral Home. Casual clothing is requested.
Visitation will be Friday, March 16, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., also at Einan's.
Elmer Kenward "Ken" Nesbitt

Elmer Kenward "Ken" Nesbitt was born in Payette, ID on May 17, 1916 and died October 26, 2007 at Canyon Lakes in Kennewick, WA. He was the oldest child of Io Kenward Nesbitt and Elmer H. Nesbitt. He went to school near the Nesbitt Ranch at Ola, in Payette, and in Emmett, lD. He graduated from Emmett High School in May 1935. Elmer (Kennie) attended the University of Idaho and graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering in June 1941.
Kennie worked for the State of Idaho and The Bureau of Reclamation in various locations in Southern Idaho. He also spent 14 months in Alaska working for the U. S. Army Engineers. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and received his commission. Kennie served in the Pacific Theater as an officer aboard a net tender for over a year. As a Lieutenant, he received his discharge in 1946.
On June 14, 1940, he married
Phyllis Stanton in Payette, ID. They had two children, Stanton Jeffery, and Barbara Aileen.
The E. K. Nesbitt family moved from Idaho to Central Washington in 1949.
Here he worked on the building of the Columbia Basin Irrigation System. They lived in Ephrata and Eltopia. In 1959, Kennie and family moved to Kennewick, WA where he went to work for the AEC in Richland, WA.
After a divorce, he married
Myrtle Cathcart Stephens in 1967. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Barbara, his brother David, and stepson Dennis.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Myrtle, his son Stanton of Ocean Park, WA, and stepson Richard Stephens, of Richland, WA. Also by sisters Myrtle Siebe of Moscow, ID, Nancy Goodell of Nyssa, OR, and Iva Fingerson of Boise, ID. Also brothers John Nesbitt of Kennewick, WA, Homer Nesbitt of, Ola, ID, and Dale Nesbitt of Berkley, CA. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Kennie has seven grandchildren. They are: Renee Armstrong, Stanton Jeffery Jr. Nesbitt, Theresa Todd, Wesley Ellrie Jr Safford Nyte, Laura Stephens, Robert Stephens Erwin, and Aileen Libengood. Also ten great grand children.
Kennie loved to travel. He and his wife took cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Panama Canal, and around Nova Scotia. They have also made trips to Alaska, Mexico, Israel, China and Europe.
He enjoyed working on old cars. He restored several over the years including a 1928 Plymouth that he donated to the antique car museum that has been started here in the Tri-Cities.
Kennie is or has been a member of the following organizations: National Association of Retired Federal Employees; Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Richland Lutheran Church, Ye Old Antique Car Club, and The Road Runners, Prairie Shufflers, and Columbia River Square Dance Clubs. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by memorial services at 11:30 Wednesday at Richland Lutheran Church. Visitation will be at Einan’s Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Robert Adam Lee Beitz

Robert Adam Lee Beitz, 3, of Kennewick, passed away April 21, 2006. He was born July 19, 2002 in Yakima Memorial Hospital and has lived in the Tri-Cities for 2.5 years with parents Cody and Jenna Beitz and brother Alexander.
Words can’t describe the love we have for him. He was a very special boy. Everything he did made us so proud. Let God watch over him and keep him close to our hearts.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Kennewick First Presbyterian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Adam Beitz Memorial Fund at Banner Bank and Sterling Savings.

Jean Ruth (Mandrell) Benson
Jean Ruth Benson, 78, passed peacefully from this life to the next, on March 25, 2006, in Kennewick, WA.
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24
Jean was born to Dorothy and Otis Mandrell, in Bemidji, Minnesota on Feb 21, 1928, the first of six children. She spent her early years in Northern Township, attending Northern School, graduating from Bemidji High School in 1946. She was married
to Earl Arthur Benson on January 16, 1947, in Superior, Wisconsin. Together they built their first homes in Bensonville, and Lisle, Illinois. After winning the reclamation project drawing in 1955, they traveled west with their three children, to claim a farm in the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, build another home, and continue raising their four children.
In 1968 Jean and Earl joined in starting a co-op charter flying service, ‘Am Air’, operating out of Pasco, WA. They developed a Laundromat and two other farms, one of which is still in the family, being farmed by their son.
Jean loved to stitch and sew soft toys. After Earl’s retirement in 1982, she spent much time collecting dolls, eventually starting a small shop in Pasco with her daughters called the Doll Farm. In 1983 she authored a Farm Journal Craft book, entitled: “Soft Toys To Stitch and Stuff”. She also excelled at baking large trays of Granny Smith apple pie, which she called ‘apple slices’. This treat was especially loved by her cherished grandkids and family.
Jean is survived by her father Otis Mandrell and brother Ronald of MN, sisters Joann Gordon of MN, Joyce Thompson of CO, Marilyn Glidden of MN and Marjorie Dyas of AR, daughters Judy Leonard, Vicki McCurry, son Gary Benson, and daughter Diana Moulton, 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, of 51 years, in 1998.
A celebration of Jean Ruth Benson’s life (78 years) will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at the graveside site shared with Earl, Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Richland, WA.
Beverly June Bennett

Beverly June Bennett (Goodrich), 68, of Richland, WA, formerly of Yakima, WA went peacefully to her Lord Jesus on Saturday, November 5, 2005 due to diabetes.
Beverly was born on June 22, 1937 in Las Animas, Colorado. She lived in Richland, WA for 8.5 years until her death. She lived in Yakima for over 30 years. Beverly moved from Colorado to Grandview and Wapato as a young child. She accepted Christ at an early age. She met her husband of 50 years, Alonzo Neal, on June 20, 1954 and they were married
on October 29, 1955. She gave birth to three children.
In 1966 she began cooking for the Yakima School District and became a Cook Manager in 1983. She retired in 1990. This was a true delight. She had an amazing ability to remember names, and was a friend to all who knew her. In the summers, Beverly worked at Miner’s Drive In. She attended Richland Assembly of God and Christian Life Center Church of God in Yakima.
Her proudest moments were the birth of her grandchildren and celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary on October 29, 2005; but above all else, seeing all her children come back to Christ.
She is survived by her husband Alonzo Neal Bennett; children Debbie Dawson (Doug) of Richland, Lonnie Bennett (Lorie) of West Valley, and Julie Anderson (Kevin) of Moses Lake; siblings Ann Cole (Pat) of Selah, Paul Goodrich (Teri) of Yakima; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Lorene Goodrich.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Christian Life Center Church of God, 717 North 40th Ave., Yakima, WA. Her nephew Steve Cole will officiate.

Albert James Bell, Sr.

Albert James Bell Sr. passed away on January 17, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Al was born on April 25, 1927, in Toronto, Canada to Albert Edward and Brigitte Elizabeth Bell. After living his youth in Toronto, he came to the United States to become a naturalized American citizen and join the United States Air Force. He married
Constance Thalia Frash, a nurse from Arnold, Pennsylvania in 1951. Al was married
to Connie for 35 years until she passed away in 1986. They moved to the Tri-Cities in 1968.
Al served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1966. He was stationed in Saudi Arabia, Germany, New York, Maryland, Bermuda, Florida and Colorado. After retiring from the Air Force, Al worked in Veteran's Administration hospitals in Denver, Walla Walla and Helena. From 1971 to 1988, he worked for government contractors at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation administering records and declassifying documents.
Al is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Bell and his grandson Lee Rose III. He is survived by his sister, Christina Hudak and husband, Michael
living in Sarnia, Canada; his son, Albert J. Bell Jr. and wife, Debra, living in Spokane, Washington; daughters, Fran Rose living in Prosser, Washington; and Claudia Bell and husband, Gerry Gibson, living in Spokane. Al had 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Al loved his children and grandchildren. He knew what young children enjoyed, and he enjoyed doing it with them. He also volunteered many hours helping military veterans in the area obtain their benefits.
Funeral services will be held at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland, Washington on January 22, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
