Anthony F. Daniewicz
Anthony F. Daniewicz died peacefully in his sleep on April 7, 2015. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on March 24, 1927. He lived there until he joined the WWII effort after his high school graduation. He served in the U.S.Navy on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific. He met the love of his life, Lynn, at a USO club in Seattle while on leave. After his service he returned to Minnesota to attend college on the GI bill. Tony and Lynn were married
in 1948. Tony graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College in August of 1949 and taught in Tracy, Minn. for two years. They moved to Washington where Tony touched the lives of many students through his 30 years at Ocosta High. He taught math, drama and audio-visual where he challenged each student to do and be their best. Tony had a passion for drama and helped found the Driftwood Players where he was an active actor, director and supporter. Tony and his family staged a summer melodrama at Cohassett Beach and in Ocean Shores for several years. Tony retired from teaching in 1982 and he and Lynn traveled the country looking for antiques to stock their antique booths. Tony worked with his hands, as seen through the building of his family home in Westport and a lake home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years in 2010. He is survived by son Chris Daniewicz (Sue) and daughter Debbie Tinnemore (Rod) and granddaughters Tory and Kassia Daniewicz and Anna and Amanda Tinnemore. Evelyn L. Haley
Evelyn Lurene Haley, a resident of Pacific Beach for the past 10 years, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Aberdeen. She was 76.
A celebration of her life will be held on May 23 in Ocean Shores.
Details will be announced in a later edition of The Daily World.

Wanda Hicks
Former Malden resident Wanda S. Hicks died at Emeritus at Harbour Pointe Shores in Ocean Shores on Friday, April 24, 2015. She was 90.

Terry Oliver Thompson
Terry Oliver Thompson also known as T.O., age 70, passed away April 19, 2015, from complications of heart disease.
Terry was born in Aberdeen on Dec. 14, 1944, to George and Evelyn Thompson. He graduated from Ocosta High School in 1964 and had also attended Grays Harbor College. He worked for a short time at Lamb’s Grays Harbor as a draftsman. He later retired from Weyehaeuser as a log stacker operator in May of 2007.
In 1965, he married
Terry D. Graham in Grayland; they later divorced. Together they had three children, Tammy, Tanya and Terry (Dean).
Terry is survived by his daughter, Tanya and Greg Gitchel of Aberdeen, his son, Terry (Dean) Thompson and Jean Iverson of the family home, his grandchildren, Gregory and Jenny Gitchel, Gordon, and Elizabeth Gitchel, Nathan Anderson, Kenny and Noelle Thompson, Arvid, Louise, and Clayton Anderson, Terry & Sarah Thompson, Tyler, Tiffany Thompson and Courtney McCormick. He also had nine great-grandchildren, all from the Grays Harbor area. He is also survived by his sister Patricia and Lyle Young of Cosmopolis, his brother Chuck and Edda Thompson of Ocosta, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Thompson, his sister, Connie Lang, and his daughter, Tammy Thompson-Anderson.
Terry enjoyed making his five-bean casserole for all the family gatherings, writing poetry, scrapping junk, going to the casino and spending time with his family and friends.
There will be a potluck memorial service held in his honor on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Cosmopolis Lions Club.
Robert “Bobby” Jimenez
Robert “Bobby” Jimenez, 73, a longtime John’s River resident, died at home in Hoquiam April 19, 2015. Bobby was born Dec. 22, 1941, to Jesus Jimenez and Mary Preciado in Santa Paula, Calif., where he was raised.
Bobby married
Julia Trevizo and later divorced. He then married
Peggy Norby Watkins on Feb. 14, 1987, in Las Vegas and moved to Washington in April of 1987. They were raising their granddaughters, Kellie, Emily and Maggie Watkins, who were the light of his life.
Bobby worked as a mechanic for more than 40 years starting at the Navy Exchanges in Point Magu and Port Hueneme, Calif. After moving to Washington, he worked at KT’s. The last five years before retiring in 2005, he had his own shop “Bob’s Auto Repair, ” first at Copalis Beach and then in Aberdeen.
Bobby loved traveling, especially his trips back to California. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going to casinos, fishing and barbecues.
Bobby loved helping people and was a very giving, caring man. Everyone was his “friend, ” a trait he got from his mother. He loved his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews (special nephews, Keaton Bradley and Aaron Ramierez). Bobby truly enjoyed recent visits from his sister Helen and Mike, nephew Aaron, brother Rey and Melba and his daughter, Audrey, whom he loved very much.
Besides his wife Peggy, Bobby is survived by his daughter Audrey Steele (Ron) of Fillmore, Calif., son Robert (Bill) Jimenez (Stephanie) of Ellisville, Mo., Jeremy and Shane Watkins, brothers Rey Jimenez (Melba) and Leo Gutierrez all of Santa Paula, Calif., sisters Helen Lang (Mike) of Santa Paula, Calif. and Mary Qualls (Charles) of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Wyatt Steele, Matthew, Sarah and Dylan Jimenez, Kellie, Emily and Maggie Watkins, Shaynnea Watkins, Ashleigh Tillman and Katie Folger; including numerous family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Bobby was loved very much and will be missed by all.
A service will take place on May 8, 2015, in Santa Paula, Calif. A local gathering will be announced at a later date.
Memorials in Robert’s name can be made to Fred Hutchinson’s Cancer Research Center or the American Heart Association.
Kelly Christopher Ginther
Kelly Christopher Ginther of Raymond, Wash., passed away at his home Thursday, April 9, 2015. He was 47. Kelly was born July 4, 1967, at Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend, Wash. His parents are Freddi (Dilk) Ginther of South Bend, Wash, . and Wayland Ginther of Cosmopolis, Wash.
He is survived by his daughter Lindey, a brother Kerry, his mother and father, uncles and aunts, cousins, a friend Ken and his companion, Gleni.
Kelly worked in high school for his grandfather at Dilk Tire Factory, Safeway in Raymond, crab fished in Alaska, then for Weyerhaeuser, D. O. T. Forestry and West Coast Electric.
Kelly excelled in sports - football, wrestling and was an All Star in baseball in jr. high. He loved fishing, boating and hunting.
Kelly was baptized in the Catholic Church. He was a good son, brother and cousin to those he knew, until the horrific world of drugs came into his life. Kelly will be missed by everyone who he knew.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 9 at The Barge Restaurant, Raymond. The family suggests memorials may be made to Drug Enforcement in your local community.

Eric Barnard
Beloved business owner Eric Barnard surrendered to a terminal illness on March 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Eric was born on Feb. 15, 1962, in Spokane, Wash., to Glenn and Mary Ann Barnard. His early years were spent in Ketchikan, Alaska. Then his family settled in Riggins, Idaho, where Eric called home. Eric lettered in track, basketball and football. He also participated in student government. He graduated in 1980.
After graduation, Eric headed to Nevada, where he learned his skills in excavation and mining. He worked for SM&S, where he met his current business partner, Steve Neilsen. As a young man, Eric became a foreman for SM&S and instructed more than a hundred men at the Elder Creek Project.
Eric had a wonderful ability to run crews of men, which helped to shape him in his endeavors for the future.
During this time, Eric had married
Laurel Lamb in 1985. They had two children Samantha (Todd) Hatch and Brice Barnard. They divorced in 2002. They lived in Nevada and Washington state. Eric was brought to the Harbor as the project manager for Stemple Whievel House on the Bluff Project in Aberdeen, Wash. Eric stayed in Washington, where he returned to college to earn his AA in business. He then owned a gas station called the Liberty Exxon for nine years. He loved the Northwest for its fishing. He loved the water and he owned three boats, which he said was never enough. In 2005, Eric worked for Grays Harbor Paper as a shipping supervisor, running trucks all over the United Stated distributing paper products.
In 2008, Eric married
Ria Bowman. Taking her back to his first love “NEVADA.” Eric’s need to be a successful entrepreneur, he then started two businesses’ with his best friend Steve Neilsen. They created Envirotech Drilling LLC and Neilsen Barnard Drilling & Blasting Inc. in Winnemucca, Nev. As gold prices rose, they worked for companies like Premier Gold, Western Exploration, Klondex, Kinross Gold, NuLegacy, Gold Odyessey, Owyee Gold, Barrack Gold and many more projects. Neilsen Barnard Drilling & Blasting Inc. has become a trucking company in Apache Junction, Ariz. They distribute coast to coast hitting all the lower 48 states, even into Canada.
With all that Eric had left behind, it shows his true natural ability he had to build business, run crews and empower people to grow. He will be terribly missed by all that knew him.
Eric is survived by his wife Ria Barnard of Apache Junction, Ariz., daughter Samantha (Todd) Hatch of Lakeside, Calif., son Brice Barnard of Winnemucca, Nev., granddaughter Emma Hatch (7) and grandson Beau Hatch (4), stepsons Shawn (Shelly) Ziemba and Benjamin Hanson of Vancouver, Wash., stepdaughters Tiffany Bowman of Tacoma, Wash., Megan (Chris) Judy of Winnemucca Nev., stepgrandson Zayden Dean (3), brother Mark (Bethany) Barnard of South Bend, Wash., a niece Jessica Barnard of Carlin, Nev., sister Teresa (Sam) Emadi of Layton, Utah, and nephews Sam Emadi, Matthew Emadi and Michael Emadi.
Eric is leaving many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends so close he would call them family. He loved his family and cherished them all.
Anyone that knew Eric, recognized him by his height and stature. But his most attractive quality was his striking blue eyes. Being the generous person he was, he made a physical donation to San Diego Eye Bank, to help someone see the world as he had. Eric also donated his mind to the Science Care Center in L.A. Where it will go toward ALS research. There will be a celebration of life in his home town of Riggins, Idaho, at a later date.
Doice Cogburn
Doice Cogburn, 75, Aberdeen resident and former timber faller, died April 10, 2015, at his home in Aberdeen.
Doice was born on Dec. 8, 1939, in Norman, Ark., to Arthur and Recie Cogburn. He moved to O’Brien, Ore., where he worked falling timber. In 1959, Doice joined the U.S. Navy and he was honorably discharged in 1963. He returned to work in California falling redwoods. In 1966, he moved to Aberdeen, where he met and married
Maxine J. Warne on St. Patrick’s Day, 1967; she resides at the family home.
Doice worked for Mayr Brothers for 18 years as a timber faller. Doice retired to take care of his grandkids, whom he loved dearly.
He was a charter member of the Montesano Moose, he drove racecars at the Elma Speedway. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, watching baseball and football.
Doice is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maxine Cogburn of Aberdeen; a son, James and wife Poppy of Aberdeen; daughters: Jennalee and husband Larry Cook of Hoquiam and Kimberly McCormick of Aberdeen; Tyler Warne (grandson raised as his son) and his beloved dog Cleatus; brothers: Henry and Dean Cogburn of Mena, Ark. and a sister, Rose Proch also of Mena, Ark.; nine grandchildren and two great grandsons. Doice was preceded in death by a son, Dan Warne, a brother Roy Cogburn, a brother that died as a child, Danny Cogburn, and both parents.
A celebration of Doice’s life will take place at the Montesano Moose Hall on April 26, 2015, at 1 p.m.

Aryn M. Alexander
3/9/1969-4/19/2015
Aryn passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Sunday after a day of doing what he loved — fishing. Aryn was a happy and outgoing person who loved his family and friends. Aryn graduated from Montesano in 1987. He was preceded in death by his mother, Terri Randall Alexander, and his grandparents, Bud and Esther Alexander. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Kellie Marks, his daughter, Leslie Alexander, father, Les Alexander (Carol), brother Michael Alexander and sister Kevin Thompson and grandmother Joyce Lougheed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Shelton Christian Church at 11 a.m.
Robert ‘Dean’ Welch
Dean Welch, also known as Robert, Bob and R.D., as well as Karen and Kathy’s dad and Donna’s husband, passed away in his sleep early Saturday morning, April 18, 2015, in Longview.
He lived his entire life in Raymond, Wash., except for two years in the Marines, two years in Forks, Wash., and the past six months at the Canterbury Inn in Longview.
He worked for Weyerhaeuser for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2000. After that, he spent his time building and selling wood crafts out of his shop at the family home in Raymond. He was a member of the Raymond Elks and was exalted ruler at the time the lodge, located in the old Sea-First building, burned and was rebuilt at the present location in 1973.
Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Donna, in December 2014; his father, I.E. Welch; his mother, Mildred Welch; a sister, Evelyn Morgan; a brother, James Welch; and an infant child.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Welch of Buckley, Wash., and Kathy Welch of Longview.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. May 2 at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond, followed by an informal “stop and visit” reception at Dean’s shop at the family home.
At his request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens & Crematory. His ashes will join those of his wife, Donna.
Patricia Ann Scheberle
Patricia Scheberle of Elma, Wash., went to be with our Lord on Dec. 10, 2014. She was born on Oct. 12, 1929, in Plattsmouth, Neb., to Frank and Marge Sanders. At age five, the family moved to Yakima, Wash. Pat graduated from Selah High School in 1947. Pat lived for many years in Yakima where she married
and raised her children. In 1970 Pat and her husband, Bob Russell moved to Westport, Wash., where they owned and operated the Lighthouse Motel and Trailer Park until 1986. Bob died in 1987.
In 1992 Pat met the love of her life, Frank Scheberle, while pursuing one of her hobbies — bowling. They were married
in Ocean Shores, bringing their families together as one. Together they enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with their families. Pat cherished her time with her grandchildren. Pat enjoyed many hobbies, including; knitting, crocheting, and sewing and will be remembered for her beautiful crafts, afghans and dolls. She loved playing cards and always made a funny sketch when she beat Frank and a frown when she lost. Frank and Pat weren’t just spouses, they were best friends and soul mates.
Pat is survived by her husband, Frank; Children Judy (Mike) Gudyka, Kathy (Richard) Van Winkle, Lynda Raynes, Larry (Jean) Raynes, Jr., Tina (Ron) Tippin, Pam (Paul) Wright, Jack Scheberle. Her brother, Gary (Babe) Sanders.
Pat was preceded in death by Sindy Scheberle (daughter), Felice Ice (sister), Thomas Sanders (brother), and her parents.
Pat helped make the world a better place with her love, compassion, tenacity, spirited nature and mischievous humor. She will be dearly missed by those who had the good fortune to know her.
A Celebration of Life was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elma, Wash., with internment at Fern Hill cemetery in Aberdeen, Wash.
Pat requested donations be made to St. Josephs Alter Society, 501 W. Main St., Elma, Wash.
Narice Kaye Dishman
Longtime Elma resident Narice Kaye Dishman passed away on April 17, 2015, at Manor Care in Lacey, Wash. She was born on March 9, 1934, in Taskee, Mo., to Marvin and Minerva Estes. She attended school in Missouri and Washington. She worked as a Riveter in the airplane industry. In 1976, she was in the First Women’s Group in the National Rifle Association (NRA) South Umpqua Sharpshooters. She enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Narice is survived by her son Joe Garber of Lacey, Wash., sisters Norma Miller of Sacramento, Calif., and Karen Naylor of Cazadero, Calif., and a brother Walter E. Estes of Spirit Lake, Idaho, along with four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Marvin B. Chouinard (1916 - 2015)
Marvin B. Chouinard, 98, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Providence St. Peter Hospital. He was born in Lewiston, Mont. to Joseph and Emily (Hebert) Chouinard in 1916, and lived in Oakville and Cosmopolis most of his life. He attended school in Oakville and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1940. He married
Mildred Gustafson of Oakville in November 1941. He was a member of the CCC’s, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Marvin is survived by his children Carol, Carmen, Gene and Yvonne, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin worked for Weyerhaeuser as a forester for 35 years. He was active in 4-H, Masons, Eastern Star, Oakville senior lunch, American Legion and Oakville Volunteer Fire Dept. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, brothers and his son Ray. Memorials in his honor may be made to Providence St. Peter Foundation, Oakville Fire Department, Oakville Methodist Church and charities of Eastern Star and Masons.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., April 11, 2015, at the United Methodist Community Church in Oakville, Wash.
Kathleen Jo Kovach
Lifetime resident of Aberdeen, Kathleen Jo Kovach, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Saturday, March 21, 2015. Kathleen was born in Aberdeen, Nov. 16, 1945, the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn (Childs) Vessey. She graduated from Weatherwax High School, Aberdeen, in 1964.
The family noted she really was a “stay-at-home-mom, ” enjoying her children, her yard and gardening, reading and painting in oil and watercolors. She also did seasonal work at Ocean Spray, but her home and family was her life’s work.
Kathleen is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Keli Renee and Larry Lock, Snoqualmie, Wash., and Kari Jo and Brad Perry, Sammamish, Wash.; one granddaughter: Laura Perry; three brothers: Gary Vessey in Arizona, Roy Vessey and Byron Vessey, Aberdeen.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 12:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge.

Steven Steinman
SEATTLE — Steven D. Steinman, lifetime resident of Aberdeen, died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014. He was 66.
He had been a real estate broker and developer of South Shore Apartments and the SouthShore Mall.
A celebration of his life will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen.

John C. Sharp
John Cecil Sharp of Grayland died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 80.
Services are being planned at this time.
