MONTESANO — Montesano resident Franco Vernon died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 74.

Oscar Roberts
Oscar Roberts, a resident of Raymond, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 81.
He worked as a truck driver and a logger in Raymond. He had owned his own cedar mill and his own gyppo logging company.
There will be a private family gathering later.
Cremation arrangements were by the Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam.

Aberdeen resident Merle A. Moody died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016. He was 66.

Aberdeen resident Jeffrey Allen Newton died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at his home. He was 46.

LEBAM — Clayton Ray Petrick, a lifetime resident of Lebam, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at his home. He was 57.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the great outdoors and made a living as a timber faller.
No memorial services will be held at this time.
Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’ s Mortuary in Raymond.

SEATTLE — Lifelong Harbor resident Roger E. Davis died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 in Seattle. He was 83.
There will be a celebration of his life from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Hoquiam Elks Lodge.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

MONTESANO — Darline Snell, a lifetime Taholah resident, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 in Montesano. She was 72.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
Nancy M. Peterson
CENTRALIA — Nancy Maybelle Peterson, a former resident of Quinault for many years, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at Providence Centralia Hospital. She was 81.
A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at the Quinault cemetery. A church service will follow at 1 at the Quinault Valley Chapel.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

OLYMPIA — Aberdeen resident Michael John Cooper died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 60.
He had been a painter for PacCar in Renton,
He will be buried next to this brother, Dan at St John’s cemetery in Wishkah Valley.

OLYMPIA — Lifetime Cosmopolis resident Richard Leonard Kowalsky, a former maintenance person at Weyerhaeuser’s Cosi Pulp Mill, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia. He was 80.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cosmopolis Elementary School. He will be inurned at Forest Hill cemetery, Cosmopolis.

OLYMPIA — Longtime Hoquiam resident Bonnie J. Callahan died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was 92. Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

John Rodgers Ancheta, a resident of Moclips, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 78.
In the early 1960s, he came to the Harbor and worked for several shake mills and as a mechanic for various gas stations. He most recently worked for Crane Creek as a saw filer.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam. His cremated remains will be returned to British Columbia where he was a tribal member.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

A celebration of life for Aberdeen resident Helen Patricia Williams, who died Jan. 8 in Hoquiam, will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Aberdeen American Legion.

Mary K. Wilson
Mary Kathryn Wilson, age 98, passed away peacefully on Dec. 13, 2015. Mary was born on April 21, 1917, to Joe and Nora LaShance and raised by her grandmother, Mary Bowman.
Mary married
Walfred “Bill” Wilson on Dec. 27, 1941. They were happily married
in Aberdeen for 63 years when Bill passed.
Mary lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her family and many friends. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family. Family vacations were her favorite. When first married
, Mary and Bill would take their young sons and hike into the Hoh River to camp. Later in life she enjoyed many trips to Leavenworth, Reno, California, Georgia and Hawaii.
Mary enjoyed her yard work, gardening, sewing, knitting and clam digging. She won many blue ribbons at the County Fair for her baking and ceramics.
Mary is survived by her three children, John Homchick, Skip (Carol) Wilson, and Kathy (Darrell) Kingery. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held for her family at a later date.
Mary was lovingly called “Grams” by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Grams would sum this all up with her favorite saying, “That’s the bunk!”

Nancy Maybelle Peterson, age 81, a longtime Lake Quinault resident and recently living in Centralia; died on Jan. 13, 2016, with her daughters at her side.
Nancy was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Burlington, Kan. to Otis Oliver Dahman and Nichelle Opal Welch. While still a young girl, the family moved to Quilicene, Wash. Also lived in Sekiu for several years, later ending up in Seattle.
She met Larry Peterson of Axford Prairie, at a grange dance in Humptulips. They later married
on Jan. 22, 1954, and made their home in Lake Quinault. She raised three children of her own and Larry’s young sister, Terry Sue, when his mother passed away.
She was very involved at Lake Quinault Chapel in Amanda Park. She taught Sunday School classes and was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Then later a long time member of Quinault Valley Chapel. She was a Lion’s Club member and lifetime member of The Grays Harbor Coin Club. Her passion was the love of books. Her Bible being her most important book of all.
When she moved to Centralia after her husband’s death; she was part of the congregation at Jackson Prairie Church in Lewis County.
She had a deep faith and relationship in God and loved the older gospel hymns and music.
Surviving relatives include; daughters, Sharon Ford of Onalaska and Denise Peterson of Centralia. Brothers, John Dahman of Alaska, Fred Dahman of Shelton, Floyd Dahman and sister, Leona Byrd of Shelton; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Proceeding her in death were; her husband, Larry Norton Peterson; her son, Harry Albert Peterson; her sisters, Patricia Fry and Tamera Middleton; her great-granddaughters, Kristian Theel and Abigail Robinson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Quinault Valley Chapel, PO Box 22, Neilton, WA 98566.
