Theresa L. McPherson
Harbor resident Theresa Lou Dunham Weil McPherson died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was 88.
When her children were growing up she was active in the Stevens School PTA, as a Cub Scout leader and as an advisor to Jobs Daughters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam.
Private interment will be next to her husband in the McCleary cemetery.
Louise E. Kaech
Louise E. Kaech, a longtime resident of Frances, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in Lacey, Wash. at Roo-Lan Health Care. She was 82. Louise was born Sept. 25, 1932 at Osceola, Iowa to Delphine Swayze (Bill) and Edith (Allen) Graham.
Louise and her family moved to the area in 1946 and she attended Lebam School. She became a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed music, gardening, canning, rock collecting, bottle collecting and family gatherings. Louise was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Lewis Pacific Swiss Society.
She married
Edward W. Kaech June 10, 1950, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Frances. They celebrated their vows with their beloved family and many friends on their 50th and 60th anniversaries. Edward preceded Louise in death on Nov. 30, 2010.
She is survived by four sons, Edward F. Kaech and wife Kristy of Menlo, Steven J. Kaech and wife Kristi of PeEll, William D. Kaech of Lebam and Rev. Paul A. Kaech of Raymond; three daughters, Debbie L. Clements and husband Todd of Menlo, Janet L. Kaech of PeEll and Elise M. Karniss of Tumwater; a brother Duane Graham of Manning, Ore.; and three sisters, Berneice Camenzind of Lebam, Judy Workman of Paragould, Ark. and Kathryn Huffaker of Portland, Ore.. She was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with twins expected in March 2015. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Earl Graham and three sisters, Vivian Kaech, Twyla Camenzind and Cecil Christen.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Lewis Pacific Swiss Society, Providence St. Peter Foundation, Roo-Lan Healthcare Center or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
Rosary services will be on Tuesday evening, Dec. 30, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., Funeral Mass services will be on Wednesday morning Dec. 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Frances. All services will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Frances. Luncheon will follow services at the Swiss Hall in Frances. Arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond. Lairola Vencil Malernee
May 28, 1924 – Dec. 1, 2014
Lairola Vencil Malernee passed away Dec. 1, 2014, in Kirkland, Wash. She was born in Cortez, Colo. on May 28, 1924. She was preceded in death by her brother, Noel Vencil, her husband Clarence E. Malernee, her daughter Charmian Malernee, her son, Vencil P. Malernee and her grandson, Ward C. Malernee.
She is survived by daughters Celeste Malernee, Lillian Beasley and Camille Mills and daughter-in-law Patricia L. Malernee, grandchildren Paul J. Malernee and his fiancée Debbie Thompson, Michelle Longwill, her husband Geoffrey Longwill and Eric Beasley. She is also survived by her granddaughter-in-law Kimberley Malernee, and great-grandchildren, Michael Malhiot, Katrina Malernee-Malhiot, Jason Lanum and Jordan Malhiot. She is also survived by two sisters, Vivian Kenyon and Stephanie Vencil.
Lairola was a published poet, a newspaper columnist with the Montesano Vidette and an English and French teacher. She was also an organist and pianist for the Central Park Methodist Church. She graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Boulder, Colorado
She will be missed by family and many friends.
Harold Bloomfield
Harold M. Bloomfield, a longtime resident of Hoquiam, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. He was 79.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Private interment will be at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Theresa McPherson
Theresa Lou Dunham Weil McPherson was born on Aug. 18, 1926, at home, in Little Rock, Wash. She passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Wash. Lou was the fourth daughter of Karl and Mary (Cole) Weil.
She attended various schools in the Olympia area, finishing her education at Olympia High School.
She met her lifelong partner, Bob McPherson of Scottsbluff, Neb. when he came to Washington Sate with Lou’s cousin, Larry Lackey. They were married
on July 16, 1943, in Chehalis, Wash. Mom lived with her parents in Olympia until Dad returned from the war. They came to Aberdeen after WWII for work opportunities. They had been married
for 65 years at the time of his death in 2008.
Mom was a people person. She loved watching people. She could strike up a conversation anywhere, with anyone. When her children were growing up she was active in the Stevens School PTA and was a Cub Scout leader. For many years Mom and Dad were adult advisers to Jobs Daughters. Mom chaperoned many Jobie camping trips to Twanoh State Park. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Wishkah Extension Homemakers for 45 years and made many friends and had fun times with this club. Mom was a person who needed to serve and to be of help to others. Mom took care of her own mother in the last year of her life. Mom volunteered at the Saint Joseph Hospital for many years and at the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Theresa Lou is survived by her sister, Loretta Shoemaker in Georgia; her son, Jack McPherson (Carol); her daughters, Joan Julius and Jeani Shofner (Ed). Also surviving are her granddaughters, Merri Springer (Allan), Julie Aldrich (Lloyd), Robin McPherson (Dierk Meierbachtol), Karen Weston (Josh), Theressa Julius, Adrienne Roush (Russ), Sarabeth Delozier (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Jack Aldrich, Ruth Aldrich, Lydia McPherson, Tucker Weston, Phin Weston, Malcolm Meierbachtol, Catherine Meierbachtol, Clara Rosh and Helen Roush. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert L. McPherson and three older sisters, Dorothy Peek, Doris Bradshaw and Jennie Ford.
Mom resided at the Karr House in Hoquiam for the past six years. The family would like to thank all those who worked there over the years. You laughed with her and you took great care of her. It was a wonderful place for Mom to be. We would also like to thank the staff at Pacific Care Center for helping Mom and us through her final two weeks. Your care and compassion were beyond expectation. You are truly wonderful people.

Bill Craighead
Bill Craighead passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2014, at the age of 57. Bill was born in McCleary, Wash. on Nov. 30, 1957. Bill attended and graduated from Elma High School. He spent the majority of his years living in the Elma area.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents. Bill is survived by his three brothers Jack, Roy and Richard, along with several nieces and nephews.
Bill enjoyed sports and especially liked watching the Seahawks and the Mariners. He also had a passion for anything mechanical. Bill always seemed to be in the process of repairing or fixing his vehicle or assisting one of his friends with a repair.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Donald F. Furth Sr.
OLYMPIA — Aberdeen residents Donald Frederick Furth Sr. died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 90.
A service will be held Dec. 9 and details will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Whiteside Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.
Dale W. Koenig
SOUTH BEND — Dale Wayne Koenig, a South Bend resident, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. He was 82.
He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for various companies driving truck and retired completely when he was 62.
There will be no services held at this time.
Cremation arrangements were by Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
Judith A. Burns
A celebration of life for longtime Aberdeen resident Judith Ann Burns, who died Dec. 16 in Olympia, will take place at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.
Ruth J. Golick
Ruth June Golick, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab Center in Aberdeen. She was 99.
After the death of her husband, John, in 1968, she began working at Grays Harbor Veneer, retiring in 1982.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
Barbara E. Bacon
RAYMOND — Lifelong Raymond-South Bend resident Barbara Ellen Bacon died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at the Willapa Harbor Health and Rehab Center in Raymond after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 83.
She was a homemaker for most of her life but worked at Hadla’s and J.C. Penney for several years.
At her request no memorial services will be held.

Raymond M. Hunter
A graveside service for Hoquiam resident Raymond Michael Hunter, who died Nov. 28 in Hoquiam, will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Sunset Memorial cemetery in Hoquiam.
Arrangements are by the Whiteside Family Mortuary.
Kathleen A. Muhlhauser-Williams
Kathleen Anne Muhlhauser-Williams, a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, from a three-year long battle with cancer. She was 65.
She graduated from the Hoquiam High School in 1967 and worked at Grays Harbor Community Hospital for 32 years as a cook/dietician aide.
There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.

Dolores Ann Lauzon
Dolores Ann Lauzon, 93, of Bremerton, died Dec. 23, 2014, in Tacoma, Wash. Dolores “Dee” was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Aberdeen, Wash. to John Mathias and Clara Rosa (Van Loo) Jasper. She grew up in Aberdeen where she graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Weatherwax High School in 1929. Later she attended Olympic College in Bremerton.
On Aug. 1, 1942, she married
George William Lauzon in San Diego, Calif. For the duration of World War II she worked on the assembly line as a parts station attendant in production control for Consolidated Vultee Aircraft alongside “Rosie the Riveters.” After the war, she and George returned to Washington state, raising their three daughters in Aberdeen, Shelton and Bremerton. Dee worked for the Bremerton School District in the food service department and was a member of the SEIU Local No. 114, now local No. 925 of Seattle, for 50 years.
Dee was active in PTA, Girl Scouting and her church. She was a charter member of Holy Trinity Church, Bremerton, participating in the church guild and senior club. After her retirement in 1982, she volunteered at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop for 12 years.
She started making dance, party, parade costumes and floats for her children. She is especially remembered for making costumes modeled after ornaments and wearing them to the Kitsap Peninsula Hallmark Collectors Club meetings where she was a charter member. She won prizes for her beautiful and clever outfits. Even in her late 80s, she wowed fellow assisted living residents by winning first prize at Halloween for her hand sewn creations up to the age of 91. That’s when she decided to let someone else win for a change.
Dee is survived by three daughters: Lois (Doug) Quail, University Place, Wash., Carol Lauzon, Snohomish, Wash. and Rita (Mark) Lauzon, Issaquah, Wash.; three grandchildren: Laurel Whitley, Lindsay (Andrew) Belcher and Daniel Lauzon; three great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hanna and Baby Belcher due in April; a sister: Pat Lonac, Aberdeen; a brother, Jack Jasper, Westport; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, two sisters, Lidwina Tromp and Wilma McCullough and two brothers, Irvin Jasper and Ronald Jasper.
Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 29, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Fern Hill Funeral Home chapel.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Interment will take place in Fern Hill cemetery, Aberdeen.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Navy-Marine Relief Society or the American Cancer Society.

Edward Diesen
Edward Diesen passed away Dec. 22, 2014, at the age of 97. He is survived by his wife Roberta, daughters Kathleen and Suzanne, two granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.
He found true lasting love with his second wife Roberta. They lived happily at Ocean Shores for 21 years. Edward had a 50-year career as owner of National Lithograph in Seattle and later retired from Impressions Northwest. Edward was in full possession of his faculties until the end of his full life. He was often seen driving his Buick between Aberdeen and Ocean Shores. He loved the ocean beaches for daily walks, surf fishing, clam digging and the wind in his hair.
