LeRoy Edwards
RAYMOND -- LeRoy Edwards died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at his home in Raymond. He was 65.
He retired as a saw filer for Mary's River Lumber Mill.
There will be no memorial services held at this time.
Arrangements are by Stoller's Mortuary of Raymond.
Edith I. Maki Moilanen
Edith Irene Maki Moilanen, a 65-year resident of the Harbor, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was 93.
She had worked as a nurse's aid at St. Joseph's Hospital in Aberdeen and at Weyerhaeuser until she retired in 1985. She was also a longtime member of the United Finish Kaleva Brothers and Sisters No. 9 in Aberdeen.
There will be no formal service at her request. Inurnment will take place with her husband in Fern Hill cemetery in Aberdeen.
Arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
Betty Hoder
Aberdeen native and lifelong resident Betty M. Hoder died on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2011, in Aberdeen. She was 84.
A celebration of her life will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge at 1712 South Boone Street.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Friends of Slim Pickens Wild Life Rescue, 2616 Sumner Ave., Aberdeen, WA, 98520.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
George Bravos
MONTESANO -- Montesano resident George L. Bravos died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at home. He was 71.
He served in the Army National Guard Reserves and had worked for Possi's, FG Foster Co., Westport Marine, House of Values, Desota Kerns Furniture, Montesano Cedar Products and Pacific Care Center.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Aberdeen Elks.
Donations are suggested to the Cancer Society for lung cancer or Relay for Life.
Chester Mullins
A potluck and celebration of life for South Bend resident Chester Mullins, who died Aug. 24, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Raymond Elks.
Arrangements were by Stoller's Mortuary of Raymond.
Lorna B. Irion
Hoquiam resident Lorna Belle Irion died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 82.
She had worked as a department manager for Sears & Roebuck for many years.
A funeral is being planned and will be announced in a later edition of The Daily World.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
Melster D. "Delores" Lund
Longtime Hoquiam resident, Melster Delora "Delores" Lund died at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. She was 88.
At her request there will be no service.

Juliann Benson
Juliann G. Benson died Monday, August 29, 2011, at her home in Aberdeen. She was 63. Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.
Sandra M. McFadden
Sandra Marie McFadden of Aberdeen died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at the Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 64.
Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.
John Wagner
John E. Wagner, a resident of Hoquiam, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at his home. He was 59.
He came to Grays Harbor in 1979 and worked as an information systems manager for Grays Harbor Paper for 20 years and at Shelton for Simpson (now Green Diamond) for the past 10 years.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Saron Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hoquiam.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
Larry Drake
Larry E. Drake, age 65, a lifetime resident of Grays Harbor, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at his home in Hoquiam. He was 65.
He had worked as a produce manager for Swanson's Grocery for more than 40 years.
At his request, there will be no funeral service.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
Marlene A. (Chris) Nyland
October 3, 1937 - March 27, 2015
Marlene A. (Chris) Nyland, a South Bend resident died Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Willapa Harbor Health & Rehabilitation Center in Raymond; she was 77. Chris was born October 3, 1937 in Port Angeles, WA to Albert W. and Irene (Rice) Christian.
She married
Gary Nyland in Malott, WA; he survives her at the family home in South Bend. Chris was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed Bingo, crafting, Casinos and Slots, outdoor adventures, snowmobiling, river rafting, archery and boating. She was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary #1631.
Chris is survived by a son James Carter of Bonney Lake, WA; two daughters, Michelle Donahue of Everett and Cindy Comeau of Renton and three step daughters, Colleen Arndt of Auburn, Leslie Davis of Marysville and Christine Nyland of Puyallup; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive her. She will be deeply missed.
Private memorial services will be held. Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.

A funeral for Hoquiam resident Lorna Bell Irion, who died Aug. 31, in Aberdeen will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept 5, at Coleman's Mortuary in Hoquiam. A private interment will be held at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Leonard Simpson
Hoquiam resident Leonard Simpson died at his home on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.
He was 75.

Nancy (O'Lague Blecha) Jones
PUYALLUP -- Former Harborite Nancy (O'Lague Blecha) Jones of Graham died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in Puyallup. She was 55.
She graduated from Aberdeen's Weatherwax High School in 1975.
A celebration of her life will be held from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3616 Wishkah Road in Aberdeen with a special tribute to her at 1 p.m.

Kenneth "Cotton" Wright
OLYMPIA -- Aberdeen resident Kenneth C. "Cotton" Wright died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 86.
He had been a barber in Hoquiam and was an avid golfer.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Aberdeen First United Methodist Church, 100 E. 2nd.

MONTESANO -- Lawrence Nelson Matteer of Montesano died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 77.
