SEATTLE -- Hoquiamite Sandra Mae (Lee) Miller, a South Bend native, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She was 65.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Memorial donations are suggested to Shawn Clearwater C/O Great Northwest Federal Credit Union in Raymond to help care for her funeral expenses.
Arrangements are by Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.

Glen G. Rickards, 85, of Ethel, passed away January 3, 2013 at Providence Centralia Hospital. Burial was held at Shelton Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock.

ILLAHEE -- Betty Jayne Welsh, a resident of Illahee, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at her home. She was 88.
At her request, there will be no service.

MONTESANO -- Former Raymond resident Virginia Mary Mundy, the long time "Queen of the Willapa Harbor Care Center" for 38 years, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at her daughter's home in Montesano. She was 72.
A celebration of life is being planned.

Joseph J. McLeod
Longtime East Hoquiam area resident Joseph James McLeod died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 80.
He served in the U. S. Navy.
He worked for Anderson Middleton Logging, Rayonier, Mayr Bros and Nearing Logging.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 23, at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. A potluck gathering for family and friends will follow in the Hoquiam VFW. Inurnment will be held later in the Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.

OLYMPIA -- Mary Jean Sheary, a longtime Raymond resident died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was 68.
At her request there will be no memorial services at this time. Arrangements are in care of Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.

Retired King County Deputy Sheriff Billy DuVall Stanley died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at his home on Grays Harbor. He was 96.

OAKVILLE -- Longtime Oakville resident Wanda Lee Whitaker died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at home in Oakville. She was 80.

LONGVIEW -- Former Hoquiam resident Michael James Kennedy of Kelso died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, in Longview. He was 63.
He worked in the logging industry until his retirement in March of 2011.
A funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. A potluck celebration of his life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Castle Rock Eagles.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care Center.
Sandra C. "Sam" (Martin) Hood
PORTLAND, Ore. -- South Bend resident Sandra Caralee "Sam" (Martin) Hood died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Portland, Ore., of complications from lung cancer. She was 72.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Bridal Veil Lakes in Corbett, Ore.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Alaska Conservation Foundation or SMART/Making Oregon Kids Confident Readers.

Longtime Taholah resident Francis Edward Mason-Chow Chow died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 74.
He was an enrolled member of the Quinault Indian Nation and served with the U.S. Air Force for four years.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Taholah Community Center. Concluding services with vault interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Stephen L. Papac of McCleary died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 62.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug, 26, at the Montesano Moose Lodge.

She was born November 16, 1983 in Vancouver, WA to the late Fred West and Marjorie Clopton.

Roy Ekstrand
Roy D. Ekstrand, a 32-year resident of Grayland, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. He was 76.
He had been a general contractor on the South Beach for 25 years.
A memorial service is being planned for the end of September. To honor his 22 years of service in the Army, he will be inurned in Willamette National cemetery in Portland.
