Douglas Henry Teitzel
(May 8, 1940 - December 28, 2012)

Douglas H. Teitzel, age 72, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at home in Napavine, surrounded by all of his loving family. Douglas was born May 8, 1940 in Port Townsend, Wash., to Henry L. and Bobbie B. Teitzel. In 1960, Douglas married Dolores Jean Erickson and they moved to Sitka, Alaska. In 1976, the family moved to Winlock, Wash., then to Napavine in December, 1992. Doug worked woods security patrol for Weyerhaeuser, Longview. He patrolled the Mount Saint Helens area for 30 years. He loved to fish and be outdoors.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Henry L. Teitzel, January, 1944, by his mom, Bobbie B. Janisch, February, 1989 and his dad, Walter J. Janisch, January, 2009. Doug is survived by his wife, Jean, of Napavine, five children, William (Linda) Teitzel of Hillsboro, Ore., Kim Teitzel (Kelly) of Toledo, Wash., Tara Neely of Napavine, Darcie Teitzel of Onalaska and Kyle Teitzel of Lacey, Wash., seven grandchildren, Brent, Andria, Ryan, Bradley, Amarra, Garrhet and Zane and two great-grandsons, Maxx and Vincent. Doug is also survived by his brother, Donald K. (Betty) Teitzel of El Cajon, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Remembrances may be donations to Hospice Home Health Care.

No services are planned at this time.

Evelyn V. Parker

Longtime Wishkah Valley resident Evelyn Videll Parker died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was 90.

She was a former Wishkah school board member and had worked with her husband, Melvin, in their company, Parker Logging Co.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home in the Wishkah Valley at noon on Saturday Nov. 27.

Arrangements are by Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation of Aberdeen.

Dr. Bonnie J. (Masters) Offrink

MONTESANO -- Longtime Harborite Dr. Bonnie Juanita (Masters) Offrink died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Montesano Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 84.

She had been an adoption coordinator for Social Services and worked at the Shelton Methodist Church. She was also a Methodist missionary. She had been a social worker, teacher and principal.

A local memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Aberdeen Presbytherian Church. A service in Michigan is slated for Dec. 1.

Arrangements are by Sharp Funeral Home of Fenton, Mich.

Brad Lee Staley
(September 16, 1961 - January 7, 2013)

Brad Lee Staley, 51, of Centralia, passed away January 07, 2013 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held January 27th at Borst Park in Centralia. Services are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock.

Mary Preston

Former Aberdeen resident Mary J. Preston died at Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, Lacey. She was 95.

She had worked in the cafeteria at Aberdeen schools.

The family is planning a memorial service.

Arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home of Aberdeen.

Leon H. Chapman Jr.

Leon Howard Chapman Jr., a resident of North Cove for 13 years, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at a Raymond nursing home. He was 77.

He had been a security officer at the Shoalwater Bay Casino.

Cremation arrangements are by Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation of Aberdeen.

Patricia L. Courts

Patricia Lee Courts of Aberdeen died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 74.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Jerry L. Gunter

Jerry Lee Gunter of Aberdeen died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. He was 74.

At his request there will be no services. ]

Walter Swanson

Grays Harbor resident Walter Swanson died Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. He was 90.

Funeral arrangements are being planned and will be announced in The Daily World. Funeral arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Norman D. Penn

ROCHESTER -- Norman Dean Penn, a lifelong Oakville resident, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Rochester. He was 50.

A funeral was set for 10 a.m. today at the Oakville Shaker Church.

Arrangements are by the Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.

Margaret Allan

Margaret F. Allan, a South Beach resident for more than 60 years, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 84.

She had been a teacher at Grays Harbor College for several years.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Vault interment will take place in Fern Hill cemetery.

Timothy L. Hine

OCEAN SHORES -- Timothy Lloyd Hine of Ocean Shores died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at his home. He was 69.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Mary Fauver

ASTORIA, Ore. -- Former Hoquiam resident Mary Doyle Fauver of Naselle died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Mid-Columbia Hospital in Astoria, Ore.

She was 87.

Arrangements are by Penttila's Chapel by the Sea in Long Beach.

Fern O. Henes

WESTPORT -- Fern Opal Henes of Westport died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at her home. She was 91.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Marvin J. Joye

Marvin Johnson Joye of Tahola died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in Aberdeen. He was 68.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Marshel S. "Scotty" Williams

SEATTLE -- Marshel Scott "Scotty" Williams, a lifetime Willapa Harbor resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was 41.

He was an artist and woodworker who loved drawing, being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at the Raymond Eagles Club.

Arrangements are by Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.

John A. Foster

John Adam Foster died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 80.

He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was an auto mechanic.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, at South Aberdeen Baptist Church, 620 Fordney St.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Rufus Dean Atkinson

Rufus Dean Atkinson of Aberdeen died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was 92.

Mr. Atkinson worked in the auto industry and was a veteran of the U.S.Army.

The Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen is in charge of cremation arrangements.
