Charles DeRosier

Charles J DeRosier, 73, passed away July 6, 2007 in Spokane.

Charles is survived by his wife Elaine in Orient; 4 children, Dana, Moyie Springs, ID; Chuck, Mary and Randy of Kalispell, MI; 3 sisters, Dee, Helen, Barb; 4 grandchildren.

Charles served in the Korean war.

He was a life long member of the D.A.V and the Lac Corute Chippawa Indian tribe.

We will always remember his radiant smile, sense of humor and love for his kitties.

He will be greatly missed.

Clara Barnhart

Clara 'Louise' Barnhart passed away peacefully in her sleep July 10, 2007.

Louise was born February 3, 1943 in Payson, Utah.

She was the daughter of Rollo Earl and Clara (Warner) Horton.

She married Gene Elmer Barnhart on August 20, 1974 in Elko, Nevada.

Louise loved to crochet and over the years has made many beautiful things for her friends and family.

She loved gardening and enjoyed growing flowers and always had a little vegetable garden.

Fishing and being outdoors with her family brought her a lot of joy.

Louise is survived by: Husband, Gene Barnhart-Colville; daughters, Michelle Davis-Nephi, UT; Kim Marsing-Colville; Katryna Nichol; son, Alex Barnhart and his wife, Jen-Colville; brothers, Keith and Max Horton; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and her little shadow and beloved pet, Foxie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollo and Clara Horton, 2 brothers, Glen and Don Horton, sister, Annie Willson and her daughter, Rebecca Mohler.

Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory in charge of cremation.

Irma Mitchell

Irma Doris Mitchell, a 71 year resident of Stevens county, passed away July 5, 2007 in a Spokane convalescent home at the age of 93.

She was born on September 28, 1913 in Carpenter, Wyoming, the daughter of John and Winnie Faris.

She married John T. Mitchell in Greeley, Colorado in 1929.

They moved to the Douglas Falls area north of Colville in 1936 and started a small farming and dairy operation.

Over the years they lived in Old Marcus, Evans, Valley and Chewelah, ending up again in the Douglas Falls area.

They had dairy cows at each of the locations and sold the milk for many years by home delivery in each of those communities.

In later years sold the milk to Darigold on a commercial basis.

She had been a long-time member of the Colville Valley Grange.

She enjoyed hunting and gardening in what little spare time the dairy allowed.

Irma is survived by her daughter, Darlene Hughes, Kettle Falls; her son, Dale Mitchell and wife, Judy, Lyle, WA; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will beheld at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Douglas Falls Park to celebrate Irma’s life.

The Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

Jeannette Gates

Jeannette F. 'Jean' Gates, 71 passed away on Feb 13, 2007 in Spokane.

She was a 35-year resident of the Colville township.

Jean Gates was born on Sept 23, 1935 in Penticton, B.C., Canada, the daughter of Albert Rose Doherty and Veda Eoland Vinson.

She was primarily raised in Hope BC, however lived in various locations in the Vancouver, Penticton areas as well.

In 1949 she met the love of her life, Joseph M. Gates and they were married on Dec. 23, 1953 in Blaine.

Together they moved to Monitor where Mr. Gates worked as a railroad depot agent.

Jean spent many hours of volunteer service with many organizations, and was always active in her community including; 4-H leader, member of the Independent Order of Foresters where she was voted Mother of the Year, and a regular member of the First Baptist Church in Wenatchee.

In 1972, the family relocated to Colville where Jean quickly became involved in the community, including: working as a professional Homemaker, fostered over 55 children in Stevens County, member of the Sweet Adelines, Tamarack Travelers, Panorama Amateur Radio Club, and First Baptist Church of Colville.

Her service work through the church and to the community included; caring for the dying or injured, ministering to the young people, and opening her home to friends and strangers alike.

She is survived by her two daughters Yvonne Carefoot and husband Terry (Ephrata) Carol Salter and husband David (Huntingtown, MD), her son Michael Gates and wife Linda (Colville), one brother Charles Common (Yale, BC); special nephews Frank Gore and wife Sherry (Beiseker, Alberta), Doug Gore (Quesnel, BC), 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Colville.

Pastor Wayne Morris of First Baptist Church will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Baptist Mid Mission Gift for Ken Loveall, P.O. Box 308011, Cleveland, OH 44130-8011.

Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 155 W. First Ave., Colville, WA 99114 is in charge of the cremation.

Pam Wiyrick

Graveside services will be held for Pam Clark Wiyrick on Saturday, July 21, 2007 in Kettle Falls at the Meyers Falls cemetery.

Pam died January 15, 2007 in Spokane Washington with her family by her side.

She was born October 14, 1951. the daughter of Bill and Dorothy Clark, she grew up with her brother Bill Jr. in Kettle Falls.

Her Parents owned Clarks tavern in Kettle Falls and were avid supporters of the community.

She graduated from Kettle Falls High School and went on to graduate from North Idaho College to become a nurse.

She has been with her soul mate Bob Wiyrick for 30 years and they resided in their home in Springdale, Washington.

Pam loved flowers, raised peacocks and llamas, doves and also had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce, her grandparents Eva and Cliff Tucker, Guy and Vera Clark.

She is survived by her husband Bob Wiyrick of Springdale, brother, Bill Clark Jr. (Sylvia) Kettle Falls, her Daughter Dedra; sons, Shawn and Shane, and her ten grandchildren.

She is also loved and missed by her Aunt Tess Williams and mother in law Vivian Wiyrick both of Spokane and several cousins.

'If we never meet again this side of heaven,
as we struggle through the world and its strife,
there’s another meeting place somewhere in heaven,
by the beautiful river called life,
where the charming roses bloom forever,
I will meet you on that beautiful shore.'

We love you Pam. (Pam’s ashes will be buried with her mother at the Kettle cemetery which was her wish.)

She will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by her family.

The service will beheld at 11:00 a.m. at Meyers Falls cemetery in Kettle Falls Saturday, July 21, 2007.

Richard Bruner

Richard 'Dick' Henry Bruner, age 65, a 6 year resident of the Northport, WA area passed away on July 12, 2007 at his Northport home.

He was born on March 13, 1942 in Corsicana, TX the son of Julius Henry and Bessie Elzoria (Griffen) Bruner.

Mr. Bruner was raised in Texas where he attended Spring Branch High School.

He then attended Houston Baptist College and served as the President of the Ministerial Fellowship in 1965.

He had been working as the pastor at the First Concord Baptist Church in Rye, TX for one year before participating in the Billy Graham Crusade Team in 1965.

Mr. Bruner then served at the First Baptist Church in Oglesby, TX from 1966 to 1969.

In January of 1969, Mr. Bruner received his B.A. Degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX.

He then worked as the executive director of Pulpit in the Shadows runaway and drug rehab center in 1969.

For the next four years, Mr. Bruner founded and directed People to People, an inner city crisis ministry in Houston.

He married Nadine Barham and together they had one daughter, Dawn and adopted a son, Ric.

Following their divorce, Mr. Bruner moved to San Francisco, CA.

There he pastured at the Church of the open Door from 1975 to 1977.

In 1977 he founded the Covenant Fellowship which later became the Christ Church North Bay.

He married Sharon Carter in 1979

In San Francisco and together they had two daughters, Hope and Candace.

They also opened their home to John and Matthew Bruner.

In 2001, Mr. Bruner moved to Northport, WA with his wife, Sharon, his daughters and his son-in-law, Matthew.

He founded Men of Valor Ranch in 2002 and began a ministry for struggling young men with his son-in-law Matthew.

Mr. Bruner was actively involved in various ministries as a Vice-President of Fellowship of Christian Leaders Inc., and board member of the Strategic Christian Services and Strategic Resource Group.

He has traveled widely throughout the United State, Europe, and Central America as a prophetic minister, laying church foundation and building leadership.

Mr. Bruner will be remembered for his constant fathering character with an unbound love for his faith and family.

Mr. Bruner was preceded in death by a sister; Pearl Rochlin.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bruner at the home; daughters, Dawn Bruner and her husband, Matthew - at the home, Hope Farmer and her husband, Patrick, Aberdeen, WA, Candace McDowell and her husband, Andrew, Charlottesville, VA; Sons, Rick Bruner, TX, John Bruner and his wife, Yvonne, Novato, CA; Grandchildren, Richard Matthew, Isaac, Zachary, Olivia, John Henry, and Aaron.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Marble Community Fellowship near Northport, WA.

Memorial contributions may be given to the ministries of Sent International, 3590 Hwy 25 North, Northport, WA 99157.

Robert "Bob" Hysom Sr.

Robert 'Bob' Wendell Hysom, Sr., a 24 year resident of Marcus, passed away on July 2, 2007 in Colville at the age of 80.

Bob was born on June 8, 1927 in Fowler, CO, the son of Arthur John and Mary L. (Pixler) Hysom.

Bob was raised and attended school in both Colorado and Nevada.

He then worked in Denver, CO for a company under contract with the U.S. government.

Bob entered the U.S. Army in 1946 and was medically discharged in 1947.

He then took advantage of the 'on-the-job' training and became quite good in the field of upholstery.

He worked for a time building furniture for a Colorado-based manufacturer.

He also worked for an aircraft construction company where he upholstered the Interior of aircraft.

Bob married Joyce A. Stinson and together they had eight children.

Upon his relocation to Spokane, Bob and Joyce divorced in 1970.

While in Northeast Washington, Bob met Helen Sheppard while visiting Helen’s Restaurant '395' in Addy.

They were married on July 3, 1971.

Helen sold the restaurant and moved to Colorado with Bob.

Together they traveled extensively via Harley motorcycle across the U.S. until Bob was injured in a motorcycle accident in 1977.

Bob and Helen moved to Marcus, in 1983 where they have resided since that time.

Bob will be remembered for his love of Harley motorcycles and his workmanship as an upholsterer.

He enjoyed guns and the associated shooting, collecting and loading hobbies.

Bob also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Hysom, in 1990.

He is survived by his six sons, Bob Hysom Jr. and his wife, Julie, Colville; Lloyd Hysom and his wife, Dorothy, Anchorage, AK; Greg Hysom and his wife, Judy, Anchorage; Raymond Hysom and his wife, Leslie, Anchorage; Rick Hysom and his wife, Vickey, Hawaii; John Hysom, Anchorage; a daughter, Cheryl Hysom, Florida; his step-sons; Dave Sheppard and his wife, Linda, Post Falls; Donald Sheppard and his wife, Shiela, Colville; a Step-daughter, Frances Lynn and her husband, Dan, Colville; a sister, Anita Denton, Pueblo, CO; a brother, Glen Hysom and his wife, Joan, Denver; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at the home in Marcus on July 21.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
