Clark, Herman Wednesday, 29 Nov 2006
Herman D. Clark, of Olalla, died on Nov. 29, 2006, at home.
He was 73.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1933, in Lincoln, Neb., to Elmer and Edna (Meed) Clark.
He married Delores Stafford on Feb. 22, 1952, in Bremerton.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1951 and worked as a marine machinist at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1986.
He enjoyed bowling, basketball and dogs. He is survived by wife Delores Clark of Olalla; sons Gerald (and wife Connie) Clark, of Olalla, and Phillip Clark of Olalla; daughter Sheila Clark of Olalla; brothers Don Clark of Burley and Dave (and wife Fern) Clark; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Duane and Elm Clark.
A visitation is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 6 at the Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by a funeral service at 11.

Wecker, Lorraine Tuesday, 28 Nov 2006
Lorraine Wecker, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 28, 2006, at home.
She was 78.
She was born on July 28, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisc., to Gilbert and Gertrude (Fielder) Holtz.
She married Eugene Wecker on Aug. 31, 1947, in Milwaukee.
She attended Bayview High School in Milwaukee.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Golden Friends Bible Study group.
She is survived by sons David (and wife Elaine) Wecker of Seabeck, Stephen Wecker of Port Orchard, Joel (and wife Holly) Wecker of Fox Island, Nicholas (and wife Sara) Wecker of Missoula, Mont., and Matthew (and wife Cathy) Wecker of Boulder, Colo.; brother Gilbert Holtz of California; sister Arlene Otto, of Wisconsin; and 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband Eugene Wecker in 2002.
A memorial service is planned for First Lutheran Church after the New Year. Remembrances can be made to the Port Orchard Library, 97 Sidney Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366; or First Lutheran Community Church, 2535 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.

Ebbert, Charles Monday, 27 Nov 2006
Charles Atwood Ebbert, of Port Orchard, ded on Nov. 27, 2006, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
He was 95.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1911, in Beach City, Ohio, to Charles Ebbert and Martha Jane Manbeck.
He married Doris Schwab on Hamilton, Mont., on June 9, 1935.
He worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 28 years until his retirement in 1970.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping and was a connoisseur of fine food.
He is survived by son David (and wide Linda) Ebbert of Enterprise, Ore., Gary (and wife Kathy) Ebbert of Port Orchard, Harrie (and wife Judie) Ebbert of Olalla, Robert (and wife Kathleen) Ebbert of Twisp, and Keith (and wife Joyce) Ebbert of The Dalles, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Doris Ebbert in 1998.
A funeral was held on Dec. 1 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Johnson, Thelma Saturday, 25 Nov 2006
Thelma M. Johnson, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 25, 2006, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
She was 84.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1922, in Nebraska.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed bowling, softball and golf.
She is survived by sons Michael Johnson of Camano Island and Tim Johnson of Bremerton; daughters Sandy Hartford of Arizona and Vicki Higgins of Port Orchard; brother Alvin Ayers of Port Orchard; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill Johnson.
Arrangements were not announced.

Derrer, Freida Tuesday, 21 Nov 2006
Freida Marie Derrer, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 21, 2006, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
She was 92.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1913, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Howard and Elma (Schmucker) Taylor.
She married Ferdinand Clarence Derrer in Toledo, Ohio, on Sept. 1, 1943.
She graduated from Wauseon (Ohio) in 1929 and the St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo in 1937.
She worked as a registered nurse in Ohio for 45 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a surgical nurse and supervisor, a pediatric nurse, night supervisor and periodontal nurse.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, the Harden Club of McCormick Woods and the Book Club of McCormick Woods.
She enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by son David (and wife Sue) Derrer of Palm Desert, Calif.; daughter Julie Ann (and husband Omar) Amderson of Port Orchard; brother Paul (and wife Joy) Taylor, of Burnet, Texas; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Ferdinand Derrer in 1967; son Fred Derrer; brother Ralph Taylor; and sister Grace May Robinson.
A memorial service was held on Nov. 27 at First Lutheran Church.

Tidd, Mildred Tuesday, 21 Nov 2006
Mildred Ruby Tidd, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 21, 2006, at Life Care Center in Port Orchard.
She was 86.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1920, in Lead, S.D., to Henry Walford and Anna Marie (Lindell) Harbeck.
She married Charles Tidd on Feb. 8, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She graduated from Lead (S.D.) High School in 1938.
She was a homemaker and had a home-based business with her husband selling sewage-treatment products.
She was a Christian Scientist and served on local elections boards.
She enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by son Lindell (and wife Beverly) Tidd; daughter Barbara (and husband Louis) Hyneck; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Charles Tidd in 1983, brothers Alvin Harbeck and Floyd Harbeck and sisters Violet Harbeck and Florence Stevens.

Gillespie, Joan Tuesday, 21 Nov 2006
Joan Ruth Gillespie, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 21, 2006, in Boelus, Neb.
She was 83.
She was born on June 1, 1923, in Grand Island, Neb., to Rudolph and Eraline (Ibsen) Gillespie.
She married Thorvill Gillespie on July 27, 1941, in Grand Island, Neb.
She graduated from Grand Island (Neb.) High School in 1941.
She worked as a grocery clerk in Bremerton and on Mercer Island for 35 years until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bremerton, the Cross of Christ Church in Bellevue and attended Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed traveling, golf and cooking.
She is survived by sons Bill (and wife Pam) Gillespie of Olympia, Merle (and wife Jan) of Clatskanie, Ore., and Mark (and wife Karen) Gillespie of Port Orchard.; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Thorvill Gillespie in 1995; son Larry Gillespie; and sisters Lorraine and Bonnie.
Services are pending. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Batt, Linda Sunday, 19 Nov 2006
Linda M. Batt, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 19, 2006, in Bremerton.
She was 62.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1944, in Bremerton to Stuart and Mildred (Ringness) Frazier.
She married Alvin C. Batt on April 4, 1964, in Silverdale.
She graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1962 and worked as a retail clerk at the RiteAid drug store in Port Orchard. She also worked intermittently as a beautician.
She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
She enjoyed rooting for the Mariners.
She is survived by son Jeff (and wife Inger) Batt, of Port Orchard; brother Steve (and wife Sandy) Frazier of Poulsbo; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Alvin Batt in 2004.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by burial at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
