Roy, Elsie
Elsie Roy, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 11, 2008, at home.
She was 89.
She was born in Cornwall, England, on Sept. 14, 1918, to Alfred Vincent and Winifred Moon.
She enjoyed playing bingo and blackjack, growing tomatoes and filling out crossword puzzles.
She is survived by brother Ken Vincent; daughter Diana; son Raymond (and wife Cheryl); and four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Bert Roy and grandson Raymond.
No funeral arrangements were announced.
Strickler, LaVera
LaVera H. Strickler, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 10, 2008.
She was 99.
She was born Sept. 21, 1908, in Boise, Idaho, to Ernest and Cora Lloyd.
She married
Chester “Ted” Strickler in Toppenish in 1927.
He preceded her in death in 1984.
LaVera was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, birds, fishing, camping and card playing.
She was a founding member of Dr. A.G. Allen Auxilliary since 1959 and was a Pythian Sister.
She is survived by son Glenn “Casey” (and wife Jane) Strickler of Sitka, Alaska; daughter Patricia “Sally” (and wife Jim) Bock of Sacramento, Calif.; sister Alberta Johnson of Centralia; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation is scheduled for Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A celebration of life service will follow at 10 a.m. on Feb. 16, also at Rill Life Tribute Center. Burial at Sedgwick cemetery in Port Orchard following the service.

Cannon, Ida Mae
Ida Mae Cannon, of Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center, died on Feb. 10, 2008.
She was 82.
She was born on June 11, 1925, in Tacoma to Carrol and Ethel Watson.
She worked as a nurse’s aide and eventually spent 22 years working at the Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil.
She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, shuffleboard and traveling.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She divorced her first husband, Walt Case, in 1960.
Her second husband, Bob Cannon Sr., preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by sons Archie (and wife Judi) Case and Bob (and wife Patti) Cannon Jr.; daughters Donna Chamberlain and Teresa (and husband Pat) Cocoran; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.

Charles Mark Simono, of Port Orchard, died on Dec. 4, 2006, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard. He was 81.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1925, in Brockton, Mass., to Frank and Angelina Simono.
He married
Helen Yarnish on June 30, 1946, in Massachusetts,
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a machinist for 20 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He also worked as a machinist for the Boeing Corp. and Isicson’s Steel Co.
He enjoyed reading.
He is survived by sons Scott (and wife Patricia) Simono of Port Orchard, and Dean Simono, of Port Orchard; daughter Janice Marie Simono of Henderson, Nev.; sisters JoAnn (and husband Dennis) Thompson of Sequim and Bernice Cromca of Silverdale; and one grandchild.
Services are private.
Morgan, Edna Sunday, 03 Dec 2006
Edna Morgan, of Port Orchard, died on Dec. 3, 2006, at home.
She was 83.
She was born on April 6, 1923, in Dietrich, Idaho, to Andrew and Edith (Farrell) Lipe.
She married
Robert Morgan on Nov. 19, 1938, in Weiser, Idaho.
She attended school in northern Idaho.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed painting, sewing and her dog.
She is survived by daughters Joyce (and husband Ward) Sutton, of Weser, Idaho, and Elaine (and husband Walt) Myers of Port Orchard; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert Morgan in 2002; granddaughter Erica; son Bob Morgan and daughter-in-law Beth Morgan.
A visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 7, with a funeral scheduled for 10 a.m. on Dec. 8, both at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Wimberly, Branson Friday, 01 Dec 2006
Branson Leon Wimberly, of Woodinville, has died.
He was 46.
He was born on May 6, 1960, in Wichita, Kan., to Ron and Joy Wimberly.
He married
Renee Burrill on Aug. 9, 1991.
He grew up in Port Orchard and graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory Academy in 1978. He earned a full academic ROTC scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
As a Naval officer, he earned chief engineer status on the USS Callaghan through six years of service.
At the time of his death he worked for SBW Consulting Inc., specializing in alternative energy resources.
He had more than 20 years in refrigeration enginerring, mechanical design, technology assessment, construction management and operations efficiency associated with industrial and commercial processes and building.
He was a member of the Professional Engineering Association, the Refrigeration Corp. of America, the Umpires Association, and was a coach for many youth sports.
He is survived by wife Renee Wimberly, of Woodinville; sons Taylor Leon Wimberly and Bryce Joseph Wimberly; daughter Elise Renee Wimberly; sisters Dawn Winslow of Port Orchard, Erin Peerboom of Beaverton, Ore., and Lesli VanAchte, of Kirkland.
A memorial service is scheduled for Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Sammamish.

Anna T. Sansolis, of Bremerton, died on Dec. 1, 2006, at home.
She was 86.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1920, in the Philippines, to Evsedid and Maria (Tennefrancia) Tugado.
She married
Loreto Valasote in 1943 in the Philippines.
She graduated from high school in the Philippines and worked in food preparation in convalescent homes until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary and the Catholic Women’s League.
She is survived by son Louie Aragon, of the Philippines; daughters Milagros (and husband Edvardo) Milaflor of Port Orchard, and Teresita Fojos of the Philippines; and 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Leo Tennefrancia, sisters Telesfora and Ricarda; and brothers Delfin and Pedro.
A visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 9 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Dec. 11 at St. Gabriel. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
Rappuhn, Sharon Thursday, 30 Nov 2006
Sharon Ruby Rappuhn, of Port Orchard, died on Nov. 30, 2006, at home.
She was 68.
She was born on June 13, 1938, in Tillamook, Ore., to Richard and Ruby (Harper) Miller.
She married
Richard Rappuhn on Nov. 7, 1959, in Port Orchard.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1956. She earned her LPN in 1989 and worked in homes, hospitals and nursing homes.
She was an active volunteer in her church, local civic groups and the 4-H.
She is survived by her husband Richard Rappuhn, of Port Orchard; daughters Tamara (and husband Erik) Dow, of Kenmore, Theresa (and husband Keith) Forsuth, of Germany, Tina Rappuhn, of Aloha, Ore., and Tonya Rappuhn of Arlington; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother James Miller and first husband Wayne Patterson.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 8 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by inurnment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
