Simpson, Joseph Wednesday, 17 Oct 2007
Dr. Joseph M. Simpson III, of Gig Harbor, died on Oct. 17, 2007, in Bremerton.
He was 33.
He was born in Omaha, Neb., on June 30, 1974, to Dr. Joseph M. Simpson, Jr. and Ingrid Y. Simpson.
He graduated with honors from Fort Collins (Colo.) High School in 1992 and Colorado State University in 1998. He spent a year in Grinsted, Denmark, as a Rotary Club Exchange Student and Ambassador in 1993. He graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Neb., in 2002 and practiced dentistry with his father at Alpine Dental Health in Fort Collins, Colo., prior to moving to Gig Harbor.
He was a specialist in aesthetic restorative dentistry.
He was an artist, roller coaster enthusiast, horseman, snow boarder and audiophile. His special interest was in the automotive field of exotic and rare cars, drag racing and particularly street rods.
He is survived by his parents; wife of three years, Dr. Karla M. Bloomquist; sister, Melissa M. Simpson of Alexandria, Va.; and his step-grandfather Robert M. McKinney, Fort Collins, Colo.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Rill Chapel, 1151 Mitchell Ave., in Port Orchard.

Postma, Ted
Ted Darwin Postma, of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton on Feb. 25, 2008.
He was 46.
He was born on May 16, 1961, in Everett to Fred and
Irene (Armstrong) Postma.
He worked for 30 years as a journeyman plumber in Washington and Oregon.
He is survived by his mother Irene Anglin of Everett; sons Teddy and Cory Postma of Shelton; daughter Cassi Postma of Shelton; brothers Frank (and wife Victoria) Postma of Everett and Hank Postma; sisters Carol (and husband Neal) Colyn of Everett, Darlene Udman of Everett, Mary (and husband Frank) Henderson of Lynnwood, and Peggy (and husband Michael) Shaw of Mukilteo.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 16 at the Forest Park Lion’s Hall in Everett.

Schneck, Jack
Jack A. Schenck, of Poulsbo, died on Feb. 19, 2008.
He was 80.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1927, in Bellingham and spent most of his working life in Kitsap County.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he owned a sporting foods store in downtown Poulsbo and later worked for Fred Hill Materials before spending 25 years working for the Kitsap County Road Department, eventually as superintend-ent of county roads.
He was active in youth baseball and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by son, Steve (and wife Raye) Schenck; daughter Faye (and husband Ron) Webber of Auburn; brother Joe Schenck and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Ruth Alice “Susie” Schenck and older sisters Maxine and Geraldine.
A celebration of Life will be held at his home at 18420 10th Ave NE in Poulsbo on Feb. 23 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Larson, Mary
Mary Larson, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 18, 2008, at home.
She was 84.
She was born to Vincenzo and Michelina Zaccagnini on Sept. 19, 1923, in Port Orchard.
She attended South Kitsap schools and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1941. After graduation she attended and graduated from Bremerton Business College and went to work as a chief deputy treasurer at the Kitsap County Courthouse where she worked for 27 years until her retirement in 1975.
She married
Earl Larson on Dec. 13, 1947.
Mary was active in many clubs and organizations, including TOPS, bowling, Silver Sneakers, Sons of Norway and the Red Hat Society.
She was a member of the Gig Harbor Nazarene Church.
She is survived by sons Kenneth (and wife Barbara) of Saugerties, N.Y., and James (and wife Cheryl) Larson of Port Orchard; and three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Earl Larson in 2001 and brothers, Henry, Dominic, Ralph, Casey and Bruno Zaccagnini.
A funeral service was held on Feb. 22 at Rill Tribute Center. Inurnment followed at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.
Hall, Barbarann
Babarann M. Hall, a resident of Port Orchard for 19 years, died on February 18, 2008.
She was 80.
She was born in Tacoma on May 10, 1927.
She married
Robert M. Hall on June 16, 1951.
She retired from federal service after 30 years working at Keyport, Bangor, SWFPAC and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
She also worked 10 years as a merchandiser for Prologix.
She enjoyed gardening, animals, shopping, trips to the casino and family cookouts.
She is survived by daughters Catherine (and husband Don) Woerth of Edgerton, Wisc., and Mollie M. Hall of Port Orchard; son Chester (and wife Joy) Hall of Yelm; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Hall in 2000; grandson Brian Woerth; and brother Ralph.
At her request, no services will be held. Inurnment at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, Gig Harbor.

Roy, Dale
Dale Glenn Roy, of Port Orchard, died at Naval Hospital Bremerton on Feb.13, 2008.
He was 56.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1951, in Lawton, Okla., to Ernest and Riva Roy.
He married
Josephine Reed Bueno on July 4, 1987, in Olongapo City, Philippine Islands.
He served as an aviation electronics technician for 20 years in the U.S. Navy from 1980 to 2000.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
He is survived by wife Josephine Roy; sons Jonathan and Shaun Roy of Port Orchard; daughter Melody Roy of Port Orchard; and one grandchild.
A funeral mass was held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard on Feb. 20. Burial followed at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
LeFave, Dale
Dale Lee LeFave, of Port Orchard, died of cancer on Feb. 13, 2008, at home.
He was 74.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1933, in Tacoma to Bernard Joseph and Delphine Lillian (Brown) LeFave.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1951.
He bought and sold evergreens for Whole Sale Evergreens in Port Orchard.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family.
He was a member of the Port Orchard Eagles.
He is survived by his companion of 12 years Mary Everett; sons Steven (and wife Melva) LeFave, of Port Orchard, Larry (and wife Michelle) Lefave, of Anacortes, and Stanley LeFave, of Seabeck; brother Kenneth LeFave, of Port Orchard; sisters Loretta Evans, of Duncanville, Texas, and Joann (and husband Chuck) Demmos, of Gig Harbor; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd E. LeFave and great-grandson Travis Fry.
Loran, James
James J. Loran, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 12, 2008.
He was 67.
He was born in Seattle on July 2, 1940, to Jake and June Loran.
He spent four years in the U.S. Navy in the Communications Department and more than 20 years working on tow boats for different tow boat companies in Seattle.
He also worked for 10 years, retiring from White Center Salvation Army as a maintenance person.
He is survived by wife Nancy Loran; stepchildren Bonnie (and husband Gary) Stanton of Port Orchard, Susan (and husband Al) Bensen of Denver, Colo., Terry Starkweather of Seattle, Carol (and husband Jim) Lockrem of LaConnor and Michele Starkweather of Port Orchard; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for noon on Feb. 18 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard with visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon.
