Crabtree, William Friday, 26 Jan 2007
William Dexter Crabtree, of Bremerton, died on Jan. 26, 2007, in Bremerton.
He was 80.
He was born in Galena, Kan., to William Thomas and Mary Alice (Diesler) Crabtree. He graduated from Galena (Kansas) High School in 1945.
He served in the U. S. Navy from 1944 to 1966, reaching the rank of boatswain’s mate first class. He served in World War II and in Korea.
He enjoyed being out on the open water and fishing. He also enjoyed taking ferry rides to Seattle, strolling through Pike’s Place Market, and attending Mariners games.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Harris of Tacoma; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Feb. 8 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton. A wake will follow at the Eagles Hall on the corner of Sixth Street and Washington Avenue in Bremerton.

Jimenez, Jordon Wednesday, 24 Jan 2007
Jordon Michael Jimenez, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 24, 2007, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was 20.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1986, in Everett to Judi (McBriar) and Eduardo Jimenez, Jr.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 2005 and attended West Sound Tech in Bremerton, where he studied law enforcement and fire fighting.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Port Orchard, where he was a deacon in the Aaronic priesthood.
He enjoyed riding his bike, lifting weights and writing poetry.
He is survived by parents Judi and Eduardo Jimenez Jr. of Port Orchard; grandparents Ed and Sara Jimenez and John McBriar and Isabel Bieggar; brothers Adrion and Jarid Jimenez of Port Orchard; and sister Seliah Jimenez of Port Orchard.
He was preceded in death by grand-parents Beverly McBriar and Fred Biegga.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1550 Hoover Ave., in Port Orchard.
Remembrances can be made to any branch of Washington Mutual Bank in the name of Jordon Jimenez.
Sewald, Shannon Friday, 19 Jan 2007
Shannon E. Sewald, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 19, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma.
She was 34.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1972, in Denver, Colo., to Steven N. and Virginia M. (Hughson) Sewald.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1991 and attended Tacoma Community College, where she studied travel and the airline industry.
She worked as a reservations sales representative for Northwest Airlines for 12 years.
She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her parents, Steven and Virginia Sewald and brother Matthew Sewald.
A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

Pinard, Victor Saturday, 13 Jan 2007
Victor H. Pinard Jr., of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 13, 2007, at home. He was 72.
H was born on Dec. 13, 1934, in Seattle to Victor and Frances (Newell) Pinard Sr.
After graduating from South Kitsap High School, he served in the Washington National Guard.
He was a master builder and artist and was a partner in a Kitsap County construction company for many years.
He later owned Capco Construction.
He is survived by wife Cathy Pinard of Port Orchard; son Gene (and wife Caty) Pinard of Port Orchard; daughter Stephanie Colburn of Springfield, Mo.; stepchildren Michele (and husband Dick) Addie of Bremerton, Angela (and husband Bill) Watkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Chrstopher (and wife Sia) Austin of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Mildred Rasmussen of Port Angeles; brother Doug Pinard of Port Orchard; and five grandchildren.
Services were private.

Nancy P. Burns, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 12, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
She was 77.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1929, in Lamont, Alberta, to Andrew and Anna (Kashuba) Pewarchuk.
She married
Richard Burns in Chipman, Alberta, on Sept. 29, 1956.
She graduated from nursing school in Canada in 1952 and worked as a registered nurse in Canada, California and for 19 years at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
She was a member of Eastern Star and attended Adventures of Faith Church in Port Orchard.
She enjoyed painting, she played in a curling league and sang in church choirs.
She is survived by husband Richard Burns, of Port Orchard; son Christopher (and wife Beth) Burns of Bothell; daughters Glenda (and husband Stephen) Burns of Alexandria, and Angelica Burns of Corvallis, Ore.; brothers Fred (and wife Lil) Pewarchuk of Lamont, Alberta, and Douglas (and wife Christine) Pewarchuk; sisters Irene Vause of Calgary, Alberta, and Julie (and husband Ron) Waldron of Edmonton, Alberta; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m.on Jan. 26 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

JerryAnn Tarin Huff, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 11, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center, after a 16-year coma. She was 23.
She was born on May 22, 1983, in Tacoma, to Jim and Donna (Smithem) Huff.
She attended first grade and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tacoma.
She is survived by parents Donna and James Huff, of Port Orchard; brothers James T. “Tommy” III of Bremerton and Jonathan (and wife Erika) Huff of Bremerton; sister Jacklynn (and husband Ray) Shuman of Sandy, Utah; and maternal grandmother Gloria Thompson of Tumwater.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Jan. 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1550 Hoover Ave. SE, in Port Orchard.
Remembrances can be made to Children’s Hospital in Seattle.

Barbara Ann Cooper, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 11, 2007, in Richland. She was 53.
She was born Feb. 4, 1953, in West Seattle to Henry and Evelyn Lantz.
She graduated from Sealth High School in Seattle in 1971 and worked in customer service.
She married
Douglas Cooper on June 7, 1980.
She enjoyed studying the Bible and watching “Little House on the Prairie” reruns.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Cooper, of Port Orchard; son Shane Cooper of Renton; sister Jeanne Lantz of Richland; brother David Lantz of Shadow Hills, Calif.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.

Barbara J. Hettrick, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 6, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
She was 81.
She was born on April 14, 1925, in San Rafel, Calif., to Hugh and Pearl (Shaw) McLeran.
She married
Marcus Hettrick on Sept. 16, 1944, in San Francisco.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed bowling and had her private pilot’s license.
She is survived by son Gordon Hettrick of Crescent City, Calif.; daughter Peggy Ellis of Port Orchard; brother Michael (and wife Ileen) McLeran of Nevada City, Calif.; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Marcus Hettrick in 1981; son Marcus Hettrick Jr. in 1954; and brother Robert McLeran in 1981.
A memorial service was held at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Jan. 26.
Tiffany, Ward Monday, 29 Sep 2003
Ward Francis Clark Tiffany, 60, teacher at North Mason School District
Ward Francis Clark Tiffany, 60, a resident of Allyn, died Sept. 29, 2003 at Harrison Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1942, in Tacoma to Wardell Francis and Mae (Clark) Tiffany. He married
Darlene (Hill) Tiffany on March 19, 1982, in Vancouver.
He graduated from Stadium High School in 1960. Following his six-year service with the Navy, he graduated from Central Washington University.
He was a teacher at North Mason School District for 20 years and spent a total of 33 years in the educational field.
He enjoyed sailing, woodworking, roses and loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Tiffany of Allyn, son Hal Tiffany and his wife Jamie; daughter Noele Miller and her husband George of Port Ludlow and Jeni Gallagher and her husband Darin of Maryland; granddaughter Marlena Tiffany of Kirkland; grandson Jacob Gallagher of Tacoma; brother David Purchase of Tacoma; and sister JoAnn Kirby and her husband Tim of South Bend.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation will be by Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements were handled by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
