McNabb, Glady Monday, 12 Feb 2007
Glady J McNabb, of Poulsbo, died on Feb. 12 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
She was 74.
She was born in Joplin, Mo., on June 16, 1932, to Jarvis and Katherine Bradley.
She was raised and attended school in Eastern Washington.
She was employed as a Van de Kamp Lady and also by the Washington State Ferries.
She was active in the Poulsbo Sons of Norway and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by daughters Sandy (and husband Vince) Dye of Reno, Nev., Conni (and husband Vaughn) Vlist of Port Orchard, Rosalind (and husband Chuck) Crouch of Seabeck, Nanci (and husband Dan) Lien and Kimberly (and husband Doug) Washburn, both of Poulsbo; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Frank McNabb; granddaughter Natasha Junell Hill; brothers Logan, Art, Wayne, Myron, Bryon and Jennings Bradley; and sisters Virginia Bradley and Berit Blackwell.
A celebration of life service will be held on Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Neighborhood Church, 7555 Old Military Road NE, in Bremerton.

Cook, Alton Wednesday, 07 Feb 2007
Alton Theodore Cook, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 7, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. He was 87.
He was born on April 12, 1919, in Edgemont, S.D., to William V. and Elsie (Weber) Cook.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1937.
He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a civilian employee at the Puget Sound Naval Supply Center for 32 years until his retirement in 1973.
He enjoyed carpentry, gardening and traveling.
He is survived by sister Doris (and husband John) Smith of Bremerton.
He was preceded in death by brother Byron Cook.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by burial at Ivy Green cemetery.
Remembrances can be made to Lincoln Avenue Bible Church.

Beck, Earl Monday, 05 Feb 2007
Earl J. Beck, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 5, 2007, in Bremerton.
He was 77.
He was born on March 21, 2007, in Butler, N.J., to August and Dorothy (Tintle) Beck.
He married Doris Chapman in Long Beach, Calif., in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio technician between 1946 and 1949. He then served as superintendent of equipment cleaners and engine pump operators and reactivation manager of the USS Missouri at Long Beach Naval Shipyard for 25 years before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks.
He enjoyed camping, bowling and traveling.
He is survived by son Timothy (and wife Georgianna) Beck of Port Orchard; daughters Bobby (and husband Ben) Kozlovsky, of Austin, Texas, Denise (and husband Fred) Wilkenson of Eagle Point, Colo., Sandra Fogarty of Cortez, Colo., Linda Nelson of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Cindy Escalante of Cypress, Calif.; 13 brothers, three sisters and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Doris Beck in 2004.
Funeral services will be held in Cypress, Calif.

Siefferman, William Monday, 06 Sep 2004
William D. Siefferman, of Hansville, died on Sept. 6, 2004, at home. He was 47.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1957, in Everett to Donald Siefferman and Jean E. (Graham) Shepard.
He married Jaqueline Lawson on April 18, 1980, in Jacksonville, Fla.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 until his retirement in 1996 as a chief engineerman.
He later worked for Washington State Ferries and Seaward Services for two and half years, and he owned and operated Bill’s Carriage Service in Hansville.
He was a member of the Port Gamble Masonic Lodge and Back Country Horsemen in Port Orchard. He was a Boy Scout leader in Kingston, a Demolay advisor in Poulsbo and the Scottish Rite in Bremerton.
He is survived by his wife, Jaqueline, of Hansville; mother Jean E. (Graham) Shepard of Everett; sons William, Trevor and Noah Siefferman of Hansville; brothers Charles Siefferman of Everett and John Shepard of Marysville; aunt Shirley Moser of Cleves, Ohio; father- and mother-in-law Almon and Ruth Lawson; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremiah Siefferman in 1980.
A memorial service with military honors was held at the Port Gamble Masonic Lodge on Sept. 11.

Dengler, Serena Friday, 03 Sep 2004
Serena Marie Dengler, of Burley, died on Sept. 3, 2004, at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
She was 3.
She was born on April 13, 1999, in Tacoma, to John Dengler and Tina Marie Peichoto.
She loved the outdoors, dinosaurs and reading.
She attended St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her parents; sisters Crystle Peters of Lynnwood, Amanda Worley of Marrowstone Island, and Halle Dengler of Marrowstone Island; grandparents George and Barbara Peichoto of Port Orchard and Robert Dengler and Elizabeth Repine of Bremerton and Elizabeth Collier of Sun City, Ariz.; great-grandmother Lucy Victorino of Visalia, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20, at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Ballata, Barbara Tuesday, 07 Sep 2004
Barbara Ann Ballata, of Port Orchard, died on Sept. 7, 2004 at home.
She was 66.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1937, in Seattle.
She married Robert Ballata, a Boeing engineer, in Seattle.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
She is survived by her children Joseph, Karen, Laurie, Paul and Philip and grandchildren Courtney, Allex, Sammy, Joel, Joshua and Sydney.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 15 at Haven of Rest cemetery in Gig Harbor.

Ward, Joyce Saturday, 28 Aug 2004
Joyce Elnore Ward, of Port Orchard, died on Aug. 28, 2004.
She was 77.
She was born on June 24, 1927, in Seattle to Harry and Jessie McFate of South Colby.
She married James Harrison Ward on June 14, 1963. They were married for 27 years.
He preceded death in 1991.
She worked in the banking field until her retirement.
She enjoyed farming, gardening, reading, films, cooking and homemaking.
She is survived by stepdaughter Cynthia Ward Lindenbaum, of Ojai, Calif.; stepson Robert Ward, of Spring Valley, Calif.; brother Ed McFate, of South Colby; nieces Linda Cauthers, of Bainbridge Island, Kris Lee, of South Colby, Joy McFate Lee, of Houston, Tex.; nephew Robert Ford III, of Starkville, Miss.; and 10 grandnieces and nephews, including Pam Round of Seattle, Wash., and two step-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held.

MacDiarmid, Ivan Monday, 30 Aug 2004
Ivan E, MacDiarmid, of Port Orchard, died on Aug. 30, 2004, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton.
He was 64.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1939, in Rugby, N.D., to Donald and Hildegard (Sitz) MacDiarmid.
He married Sandra K. MacDiarmid in Reno, Nev., in 1976.
He graduated from Stevensville High School in Stevensville, Mont., and graduated from the University of Montana.
He worked as a carpenter on projects like the Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah and the Hood Canal Bridge. He was later a groundskeeper with the South Kitsap School District before graduating in 1997.
He was active with the South Kitsap Little League, working as an umpire.
He is survived by his wife; sons Karl (and wife Joy) MacDiarmid, of Henderson, Nev., Lee (and wife Mary) MacDiarmid, of Veronia, Ore., Neil (and wife Carla) MacDiarmid of Port Orchard, and Stuart (and wife Amber) MacDiarmid, of Port Orchard; daughters Alexis MacDiarmid of Helena, Mont., and Diedre (and husband Jon) Becker of Helena, Mont.; brother David MacDiarmid of Richmond, Calif.; sister Marilyn Loskot of Platina, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Ian MacDiarmid.
Funeral services will be private.
