Neal Leroy Baker, of Port Orchard, died on March 6, 2007, at home.
He was 63.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1943, in Bremerton.
He worked as a general foreman in Machine Shop 31 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He later worked as a real estate agent for John L. Scott.
He enjoyed bowling, hunting, golf and RV traveling.
He was active in men’s ministries at the Port Orchard Nazarene Church.
He is survived by wife Susan Baker, of Port Orchard; daughters Emily (and wife Alan) Rickett of Port Orchard; and Jamie (and husband Keith) and Michelle (and husband Gary) Orr, of Richland; brother Ronald Baker, of Port Orchard; sister Neva Lamb, of Manchester; and four grandchildren.
A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 17 at the Port Orchard Nazarene Church, 4647 Sidney Road.

Woyshnis, Justine Monday, 05 Mar 2007
Justine Marie Woyshnis, of Port Orchard, died on March 5, 2007, in University Place. She was 19.
She was born in Simi Valley, Calif., to Keith and Susan (Johnson).
She was raised in Simi Valley, Calif., Boulder, Colo., and Port Orchard.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 2005 and from Olympic College in 2005 with an associate’s degree.
She attended the University of Montana Western in Dillon, Mont., where she was a senior, scheduled to graduate in 2008.
For the past two years, she worked at Curious Minds daycare on the campus of the University of Montana Western.
Survivors include her parents; brothers Kyle Woyshnis and Brandon Woyshnis; and grandparents, Gertrude Woyshnis, Charlotte Warner and Byron Johnson.
Memorial services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on March 17 at Adventure of Faith Church, in Port Orchard and at 2 p.m. on March 31 at Vineyard Church, Dillon, Mont.

Siegfried, Ruth Monday, 05 Mar 2007
Ruth Siegfried, 87,
formerly of SK
Ruth Dorothy (Benson) Siegfried, of Bellevue, died on March 5, 2007.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1909, in Leadville, Colo., to John and Susan Benson.
She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1926. She graduated from Wilson’s Modern Business College with honors in 1927.
She married
Robert B. Siegfried on April 25, 1942.
She worked at Puget Sound Power and Light Co. in Bremerton and later worked as a legal secretary and court administrator for Kitsap County District Court and Municipal Court in Bremerton from 1952 until retiring in 1975.
She served as state president of the Court Administrators Association of Washingto, she was a member of the Lady Elks of Bremerton, Lady Kiwanians, Navy League of Bremerton, Chil-dren’s Orthopedic Guild, Secretary for the Kitsap County Fair and member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by husband Robert B. Siegfried; daughter Virginia (and husband Gary) Bellinghausen; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ruth was preceded in death by brothers Ralph, Chester and Julius Benson, her sister Eva Benson and son Robert B. Siegfried Jr.

Morton, Newton Sunday, 04 Mar 2007
Newton Turner Morton, of Port Orchard, died on March 4, 2007, at home.
He was 84.
He was born on March 11, 1922, in Maryneal, Texas, to George and Maddie (Ray) Morton.
He married
Doris Flippin on May 31, 1941, in Snyder, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in the Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater.
He owned Palo Duro Heating and Air in Amarillo, Texas, until his retirement.
He was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, for more than 20 years and accruing more than 25, 000 hours.
He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ and attended the Port Orchard Church of Christ.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He is survived by wife Doris Morton of Port Orchard; daughters Shirlene (and husband H.T.) Watson of Huntsville, Ala., Connie (and husband Ray) Switzer, of Port Orchard, and Penny (and husband) Kenny Copeland of Chickasha, Okla.; sisters Nora Jo (and husband Dean) Ball, of Snyder, exas, Nella Marie Blakely, of Portersville, Calif., Georgia Mae McCkammey, of South, Texas, and Frankie Huff, of Sweetware, Texas; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by grandson Blythe Hendricks, and brothers William and Morris Morton.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on March 10 at the Port Orchard Church of Christ; a graveside service was held at Tahoma National cemetery on March 9.
Avery, Karen Sunday, 04 Mar 2007
Karen F. Avery, of Port Orchard, died on March 4, 2007, at home.
She was 65.
She was born in Flint, Mich., and married
Douglas Avery on Aug. 3, 1959.
She was a member of Tugboat Tollers and enjoyed painting and camping.
She is survived by sons Douglas Avery Jr., of San Francisco, Calif., Phillip Avery of Port Orchard, Frederick Avery, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Avery of Silverdale; brothers Floyd Straley, of Flushing, Mich.; Greg Straley of Manestee, Mich., and Randy Straley, of McHenry, Ill.; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Eagles Nest, 1200 Fairgrounds Road, in Silverdale.
Hutchins, James Saturday, 03 Mar 2007
James Carlson Hutchins, of Poulsbo, died on March 3, 2007, at Harrison Medical Center.
He was 36.
He was born on July 20, 1970, in Bremerton to G. David and Laurel (Judge) Hutchins.
He married
Jennifer Barber on Jan. 20, 2000, in Reno, Nev.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1989.
He was a journeyman tree trimmer for 10 years and was a groundman on electrical line crews for King County Metro for eight years.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He enjoyed hunting, camping and drag racing.
He is survived by parents David and Laurel Hutchins of Port Orchard; wife Jennifer Hutchins of Shoreline; sons Ryan and Jack Hutchins of Chico, Calif.; daughters Jo Anna Hutchins of Chico, Calif., and Rhiannon Hutchins of Shoreline; brothers Frederick Hutchins of Port Orchard; and grandmother Lela Judge of Tracyton.
Arrangements are private.

Ruth Margery Washburn, of Port Orchard, died on March 2, 2007. She was 90.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1916, in Goodland, Kansas, to Harry and M. (McNiece) Yount.
She married
John Washburn on June 2, 1951, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was a Western Union operator in Los Angeles until her marriage and a homemaker thereafter.
She was a member of the YMCA Auxilliary and an active participant in water aerobics at the Los Altos, Calif., YMCA.
She is survived by son Mark (and wife Terri) Washburn, of Port Orchard; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Washburn in 1994 and by two brothers and one sister.
At her request, no services are planned.

Macabitas, Felina Tuesday, 13 Jul 2004
Felina Buen Macabitas, 77, a resident of Port Orchard, died July 13, 2004.
She was born on June 1, 1927 in Bacnotan, La Union, Philippine Islands to Marcelo and Lucia (Tabtab) Buen.
She married
Casey G. Macabitas on Sept. 16, 1946.
He preceded her in death in 1967.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, fishing and her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons Romeo B. Macabitas of Killeen, Texas, Casey B. Macabitas of Port Orchard, William B. Macabitas of Everett, Edwin B. Macabitas of Port Orchard and Allen C. Macabitas of Bremerton; daughters Elma B. Nelson of Albuquerque, N.M., Olivia B. Macabitas of Port Orchard, Jean B. Firman of Port Orchard and Madeline B. Swanson of Port Orchard; and grandchildren Melisa, Kristine, Dean, Rachel, Glenn, Cynthia, Nicole, Liza, Amanda, Brittany, Jacob, Caleb, Samantha, Jordan, Cassidy, Sarah, Dylan, and Jessica.
Visitation was held at Rill Chapel on Friday and Saturday, July 16 and 17, 2004. Rosary was held on Sunday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Funeral service was held at St. Gabriel on Monday, July 19, 2004 followed by interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.
