Brigham, Larry Thursday, 03 Jul 2003
Larry Dee Brigham, Jr., 41, a resident of Port Orchard, died on July 3, 2003.
He was born in Bremerton on Sept. 24, 1961, to Larry Dee and Katherine (Thompson) Brigham, Sr.
He attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard and served in the U.S. Army as an E-4.
He was a self-employed real estate sign installer for 11 years.
He enjoyed baseball, chess, fishing, hiking, badminton, working on cars and studying his Native American heritage.
He is survived by his companion, Christine Bowlen of Port Orchard; sons Justin and Jacob Koch-Brigham of Port Orchard; daughter Jessica Koch-Brigham of Port Orchard; and sister Karleen Brigham of Seattle.
He was preceded in death by his brother Terry Lee Brigham.
A “Celebration of Life” ceremony will be held on today (July 12) at 1 p.m. at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the children can be made in care of their mother Kimberly Koch, 6985 SE Cleveland Ave., Port Orchard, WA 98366.
Hoyt, Keith Sunday, 29 Jun 2003
Keith Hoyt, 32, a former Olalla resident, died June 29, 2003.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1970, in Seattle to Gary and Sue Hoyt.
He attended Olalla Elementary, John Sedgwick Junior High and lettered in football and soccer at South Kitsap High School. He graduated from Washington State University in 1994 with a BA and a teacher’s certification.
He enjoyed teaching, coaching sports and spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman and sports fan and had recently taken up kayaking.
He was a Christian.
He is survived by his parents, both of Olalla; his sister Tanya; his brother Lee and his wife Faataualofa; niece Maria; also many extended family members.
A memorial service was held July 5 at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.

Hatlem, Polly Senn Saturday, 28 Jun 2003
Polly Senn Hatlem, 68, a resident of Belfair, died June 28, 2003 in Bremerton. She was born in Bremerton on June 20, 1935 to William C. and Bertha G. (Pauley) Senn.
She married
Harry N. Hatlem in Port Orchard on Aug. 26, 1952.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1953. She was a homemaker and worked for the Association of Retarded Persons as a fundraising coordinator for 14 years.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge-Fraternal Order of Odd Fellows—Ladies Auxiliary, was a past Noble Grand, enjoyed bowling, RV camping and was an avid Mariners fan.
She was a Methodist.
She is survived by her husband Harry Hatlem Jr. of Belfair; daughter Traci A. Costello and husband Dennis of Bremerton; sisters Vonda Lee Heacock and husband Howard of Bremerton and Barbara Jo Brown and husband Rod of Winterhaven, Fla.; and grandchildren Dorene M. Montoya, Vickie L. Penner and Dennis M. Costello and great-grandchildren Benjamin Montoya, Andrianna Montoya, Shyiann Penner and Jordan Ortega.
A gathering of friends and family will be announced.

Peterson, Theda Friday, 27 Jun 2003
Theda E. Cline Peterson, 95, died on June 27, 2003, in Port Orchard.
She was born on July 7, 1907, in Port Orchard to George and Mary (Getty) Cline.
She married
Ralph Peterson in Seattle in 1925.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1924 and attended beauty college in Bremerton.
She was a member of the Pythian Sisters for 65 years and was a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceeded in death by her husband in 1985.
She is survived by son Joe Lee Peterson, of Tacoma; daughter Mary Jane Reilly, of Bremerton; nine grandchildren and eight great-granchildren.

Gunterman, James Wednesday, 25 Jun 2003
James Allen Gunterman, 28, a Bellevue resident, died June 25, 2003, at home.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1974, in Carmel, Calif. to John and Denise (Brenner) Gunterman.
He graduated from Gig Harbor High School in 1993, attended the University of Washington and graduated from Central Washington University in 1999 with degrees in computer science and art.
He worked at the Cobalt Group in Seattle as a design integrator.
He was involved in several role-playing game groups, enjoyed painting, computer art, reading and archery.
He is survived by his parents, who live in South Colby; his brothers John D. Gunterman of Cornelius, Ore. and Brian G. Luangsawasdi of Salt Lake City, Utah; also his paternal grandmother Margaret Gunterman of Sunriver, Ore. and his maternal grandfather David Brenner of Clayton, Calif.
A memorial was held on Saturday at Adventure of Faith Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were handled by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center.

Fleck, Steven Tuesday, 24 Jun 2003
Steven H. Fleck Sr., 55, a resident of Port Orchard, died June 24, 2003.
He was born in Altoona, Pa., on July 15, 1947, to Harold and Dorothy (Daringer) Fleck.
He graduated from Altoona High School in 1965 and attended the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a sheetmetal worker for 28 years.
He enjoyed riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife Kathy (Cullum) Fleck of Port Orchard; his parents Harold and Dorothy Fleck of Altoona, Pa.; his sons Steven Fleck, Jr. and his wife Janet of Port Orchard, Joshua Fleck of Belfair and Mike Fleck and his wife Stephanie of Bellingham; daughter Shelby Miller and her husband Glenn of Belfair; sisters Molly McMann and her husband Dan, Ruth Yarrow and her husband Dan and Beth Delozier and her husband Matthew, all of Altoona; and grandchildren Taira Fleck, Courtney Fleck, Dakota Fleck, Ava May Fleck, Dean and Gregory Miller and Sophie Fleck.
There will be a private family gathering.

Clytie M. Sederberg, of Port Orchard, died on March 9, 2007, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was 79.
She was born on April 29, 1927, in Seattle to Richard and Clytie (Worcester) Bower.
She married
Russell Sederberg in 1994.
She was a long-time employee of the Kitsap County Road Department.
She was survived by sister Florence (and husband Merton) Telstad.
She was preceded in death by brother Richard Bower in 2006.
No funeral arrangements were announced.

Janice R. Hayne, of Bremerton, died on March 7, 2007, at home.
She was 79.
She was born on May 20, 1927, in Port Angeles and graduated from Bremerton High School in 1944.
She married
Virgil Haynes on Aug. 20, 1948, in Manchester. They later divorced.
She was a homemaker for 20 years and became a real estate agent specializing in condominiums.
She worked for Bradley Scott for 10 years and Reid Realty for the past 18 years.
She was the former commanding officer for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets in Bremerton.
She is survived by son Walter Haynes of Bremerton and daughter Elissa Whittleton of Port Orchard.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother Russell Frost in 1996.
A Memorial Tea will be held at the Norm Dicks Governance Center Rotunda on March 22 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Jacquelyn Y. Howard, of Olalla, died on March 6, 2007, at home.
She was 86.
She was born on July 7, 1920, in Whitefish, Mont., to Mark and Ida (Cruger) Myers.
She married
Warren Howard on March 8, 1946.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
She worked as a legal secretary at the Pentagon and later as a secretary at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until her retirement in 1980.
She attended Star of the Sea meetings in Bremerton. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by husband Warren Howard, of Olalla; son Joe Howard, of Bremerton; daughters Mary (and husband Dave) Schurr of Olalla, and Charlene (and husband Bruce) Lowe of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private gathering for family and friends is scheduled for a later date.
