Patterson, Gregory
Gregory C. Patterson, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 27 at his home.
He was 59.
He was born on June 15, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to William and Wanda Patterson.
He graduated high school in Marlow, Okla., in 1966.
He graduated from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chick-asha, Okla., in 1970.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1976.
He married
Earlyn Randklev in April 1976 in Bremerton.
He worked as a planner analyst for Lockheed Martin at Bangor Subase and retired in January 2007.
He was a member of the Master Mason Lodge 103 in Marlow, Okla., Kitsap Cruisers, and VFW.
His favorite pastimes included working on the computer and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Earlyn Patterson, of Port Orchard; son James Patterson of Fort Gordon, Ga.; daughter, Leesa (and husband Daniel) Thomas of Port Orchard; and one grandchild.
A celebration of life service will be held at his home on Feb. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Remembrances can be made to Group Health Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
Geil, Kathryn
Kathryn Ann Geil, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 25, 2008, at home.
She was 77.
She was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Bismarck, N.D., to Daniel and Barbara (Sautner) Franciere.
She was a homemaker.
She loved dogs and supported animal rights. She enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, painting and gardening.
She is survived by sons Richard D. Geil of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Bruce J. Geil of Tampa, Fla.; daughter Barbara J. Burns of Port Orchard; brother Daniel R. Franciere of Portland, Ore.; sisters Francis Freeman of Phoenix, Ariz., Jane Bruggeman of Mandan, N.D., and Susan Franciere of Mandan, N.D.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter Kimberly A. Geil in 1976.
A rosary is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 30 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, followed by a funeral mass at noon.

Dumler, Michael
Michael Alexander Dumler, of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton, on Jan. 22, 2008.
He was 52.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1955, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Albert and Georgia (Schwerdfeger) Dumler.
He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1974 and
the University of Northern Colorado in 1994 with a degree in finance.
He married
Janice Renae Savko on May 28, 1987, in Phoenix, Ariz.
He worked for 13 years as an accountant, most recently as a property accountant for Pinnacle Realty Management in Seattle.
He enjoyed Bible study, woodworking, home remodeling and day trips.
He is survived by wife Janice of Port Orchard; father Albert Dumler of Eaton, Colo.; and sister Thelma (and husband Ed) Taylor of Galeton, Colo.
A celebration of life service was held on Jan. 26 at Harper Evangelical Free Church on Sedgwick Road in Port Orchard.
Torres, Jessica
Jessica Zoe Torres, of Port Orchard, died in Poulsbo on Jan. 21, 2008, after a head-on collision with a drunk driver.
She was 34.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1973, in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., to Joan (McTaggart) Davis and Michael Maupin.
She was a project coordinator for Watson Furniture Group in Poulsbo.
She enjoyed picnics, beach walks, camping and off-road four-wheeling.
She is survived by husband Joe Torres of Port Orchard; son Anthony Torres; daughter Rachael Marie Torres; mother Joan McTaggart Davis of Port Orchard; father Michael Kerry Maupin of Appleton, Wisc.; brothers Michael Dax Maupin of Port Orchard; and sister Natalie Joan Lindsey of Port Orchard.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Jan. 26 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Melin, Judith
Judith Dolores Melin, of Olalla, died at home on Jan. 21, 2008.
She was 65.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Los Angeles to Dolores Virginia Goertzen and Ray Kimball Delahunt.
In September 1959, she married
Stuart Alexander Reile. Following his death, she married
John Melin in December 1982. They lived briefly in Los Angeles and then moved to Olalla.
She worked for General Telephone in Los Angeles for 21 years and for the Automobile Association of America for seven years.
She had recently retired from Kitsap County Emergency Services, with whom she had worked for more than 10 years.
She was an active member of the Kitsap Saddle Club of Port Orchard. She enjoyed Dressage, collecting equine figurines, gardening, family birthdays, and festive holiday meals.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Faye Ross, of Port Orchard; brother James Michael Dellahunt, of Buchnan Dam, Texas; daughter Jeri (and husband Mark) Rabenold, of Havillah, Washington; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the Kitsap Saddle Club, 1470 Saddle Club Road SE, in Port Orchard.
Stewart, Richard
Richard G. Stewart died on Jan. 20, 2008, at the Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil.
He was 82.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1924, in Tacoma to Charles and Frances E. Stewart.
He attended South Kitsap High School but left to join the U.S. Navy in time for World War II.
He retired from the Navy in 1964 as a chief petty officer.
He worked on the family farm and later as a security officer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He later worked as a commercial fisherman at Westport.
He is survived by daughter Jody Stewart; son Bill Stewart; step-daughters Kathy Persing, Jeannie Olson and Andrea Haskins; sister Mary Stewart; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers William and Chuck Stewart.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Port Orchard Yacht Club.
Hower, Robert
Robert S. Hower, of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, on Jan. 19, 2008.
He was 88.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1919, in Friday Harbor to Iva P. and Edna (Howell) Hower.
He graduated from Auburn (Wash.) Academy in 1936.
He married
Lillian Frances Fulgham on Oct. 27, 1968 in Bremerton.
He retired after working in the evergreens and commercial fishing industries.
He was an outdoorsman, an avid gardener and a Christian.
He is survived by wife Lillian Hower of Port Orchard; son Norman (and wife Margaret) Hower of Gig Harbor; step-daughters Jeanie Newsom, Janie Mathews, Suzanne Graham and Eileen Miller; sisters Alice Wieding of Maui, Hawaii, and Dorothy (and husband Walt) Granquist of Port Orchard; and 20 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Edith Anderson; son Richard A. Hower; brothers Theron, Harold, Glen and Gilbert; and sisters Melba, Rita and Mary.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 26 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard.
Menees, William
William Menees, a lifetime resident of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 17, 2008, at Harrison Hospital.
He was 56.
Bill was born in Bremerton, December 18, 1951 to Melba (Davis) and Gerald Menees.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1970 and attended Washington State University.
He was the owner/operator of Professional Plumbing for the past 20 years.
He enjoyed boating and was a member of the Port Orchard Yacht Club. He was IPBA Skipper of the year 2004-2005 and National Champion 2005 in Predicted Log Racing.
He loved his Thursday golf days with the Alnut golf group as well as snow and water skiing, windsurfing, and scuba diving.
He was an award-winning photographer and an active member of Christian Life Center.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Becki (Stoner) Menees; brothers Tim and Phillip Menees; sister Mary Gay; daughter Amanda (and husband Pete) Werbelo; step-mother Marjorie Menees; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Chelan and brother Gerry Menees.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard.
