Keller, Henry
Henry Andrew Keller, of Port Orchard, died in his home on Feb. 3, 2008, of heart failure.
He was 34.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1973, in Bremerton, to Daniel J. and Darlene (McCraney) Keller, Sr.
He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1993 and from the University of Phoenix, Tacoma Campus in 2008, with a degree in human services.
He worked for 12 years as an investigator and canine han-
dler at the Women’s Correction Center in Purdy.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the gym and music.
He is survived by his mother Darlene Keller; and brother Danny (and wife Heather) Keller, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Keller, Sr..
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 11 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, with a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Feb. 12.
Remembrances can be made to the American Heart Association, 710 2nd Ave Ste 900, Seattle, WA 98104-1719.

Noble, Donald
Donald R. Noble, of Port Orchard, died on Feb. 1, 2008.
He was 77.
Born and raised in England, he raised his family in Issaquah.
He was an aeronautical engineer for the Boeing Co.
He is survived by wife Ann Noble; son Richard and daughter Heather; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 8, at Christ the Rock Community Church in Port Orchard.

Johnson, Donald
Donald E. Johnson, of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on Feb. 1, 2008.
He was 69.
He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Lewistown, Mont., to Erwin and Mildred (Russell) Johnson.
He married Carol S. Dean on Dec. 16, 1988, in Auburn.
He retired in 1993 as an electronics technician for the Federal Aviation Administration.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1961 as a radioman third-class on the USS Wilhoite.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, reading, camping, and was a history buff and ham radio operator.
He was a volunteer for Federal Way Fire Department and played the violin.
He is survived by wife Carol Johnson; mother Mildred Johnson of Great Falls, Mont.; sons Allen Johnson of Sumner, Jeff (and wife Shelli) Johnson of Port Orchard, Robert (and wife Dana) Johnson of Federal Way, Kevin (and wife Trisha) Johnson of Bonney Lake, Dale Brewer of Baird, Texas and Eric Brewer of Kiehi, Maui; daughter Shelley Hawthorne of Port Orchard; brother James (and wife Theresa) Johnson of Great Falls, Mont.; sister Janet (and husband Bill) Wilson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 7 at Rill Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Barton, John Sr.
John P. Barton, Sr., of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 31, 2008 at his home.
He was 59.
He was born March 17, 1948.
He worked as a production worker for K2, manufacturing skis.
He is survived by his wife Barbara K. Barton; children Lisa, John Jr., Tammy, Dave, and Bill; sisters Sandy Hartman and Brenda Lott; and brothers Billy Barton and Dave Davis; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held on Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Port Orchard.

Kleffner, Helen
Helen Kleffner, of Port Orchard, died on Jan. 29, 2008.
She was 89.
She was born on May 2, 1918, in Stockett, Mont., and married Albert Kleffner in San Francisco on Nov. 28, 1942.
They moved to Port Orchard in 1945, following his service to the U.S. Navy during World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years in 1999.
She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress, cook and baker. She also enjoyed gardening.
She was a member of the Christian Life Center and enjoyed the Prime Timers and a home bible study group.
She is survived by daughters Jeanie Bradley of Ravensdale, Faye McRee of Port Orchard, and Joyce Kleffner of Ellsworth, Maine; sister Margaret Klasner and brother Frank Bozik, both of Great Falls, Mont.; and three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

Haynes, Aaron
Aaron Haynes, of Bandon, Ore., died on Jan. 28, 2008.
He was 84.
Born on June 28, 1923, he was a 20-year resident of the South Kitsap community beginning in the the 1960s.
After retirement, he joined The Peninsula Fruit Growers Club. He enjoyed grafting several types of fruit trees, mostly apple. He owned an apple press enjoyed pressing cider at his home and with other club members at public events in the Kitsap area.
In the 1980s, he lived in Grayland, Olympia, Auburn, McCleary and Aberdeen. He finally settled in Westport and moved to Bandon, Ore., after the floods of 2007.
He is survived by his nieces, Carolynn (and husband Al) Siegrist of Port Orchard; Sharon (and husband Mike) Butler of Ripon, Calif., and Patsy Priddy of Mena, Alaska.
Inurnment will be with his brother, Armond, at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, in Gig Harbor.

Bassen, Patricia
Patricia M. (Berg) Bassen, of Port Orchard, died on March 20, 2008, at Ridgemont Terrace Care Center.
She was 76.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1931, in Mount Vernon, to William and Clara Klaus.
She married Richard Berg in Bremerton in 1951. Following his death in 1990, she married Dan Bassen in Port Orchard in 1991.
She worked for 30 years in banking, most recently in Port Orchard for Kitsap Bank and First State Bank, before retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Bassen; brother William (and wife Carol) Klaus of Tenino; son Richard (and wife Becky) Berg; daughters Lunne (and husband Bob) Curtiss and De (and husband Pat) Lane of Port Ocrhard; step--son Jim (and wife Patti) Bassen of Port Orchard; step-daughters Margaret (and husband Norm) Hower of Gig Harbor, Ann (and husband Ed) Fournier of Bellingham, and Mary Kay (and husband Mark) Seales of Seattle; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Robert Berg, step-son Danny Bassen and brother Gerald Klaus.
A memorial mass will be held at noon on March 26 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Port Orchard, with a reception to follow.
Remembrances can be made to the church building fund.

Henry, Gerald
Gerald F. Henry, of Port Orchard, died on March 16, 2008, in Bremerton. He was 83.
He was born in Bicknell, Ind., to Leon and Eugenie Henry.
He married Elaine Villwock on Sept. 30, 1944, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
He retired from SupShip Seattle as a contract negotiator in 1979. During World War II, he served aboard the
USS Colora-do and during Korea he
served aboard the USS Philippine Sea.
He loved playing baseball, fly fishing, bowling and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Henry, of Port Orchard; daughter Judy (and husband Jack) Cook of Port Orchard; and brother Leon (and wife Swede) Henry.
A graveside service was held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard on March 21.
Remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 12721 30th Ave, NE, Ste 101, Seattle, WA 98125.

Thon, Patricia
Patricia F. Thon, of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on March 13, 2008. She was 78.
She was born March 4, 1930, in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School and Bellingham Business College in 1947.
She married Patrick E. Thon on August 29, 1958, at the Church of Assumption in Bellingham.
She worked for 18 years as a librarian for special education at Madrona Heights and South Kitsap High School, retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and a member of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.
She is survived by husband Patrick Thon; sons David, William, and Daniel Thon, all of Port Orchard; daughter Patricia (and husband Michael) Biggs; brother David Klingensmith of Bellingham; and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by sister Dolores Klingensmith.
At her request, there will be no services.
